1. మరియు యెహోవా నాకు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ద్రాక్షపండ్ల అడలను కోరి యితర దేవతలను పూజించినను యెహోవా వారిని ప్రేమించి నట్లు, దాని ప్రియునికి ఇష్టురాలై వ్యభిచారిణియగు దాని యొద్దకు నీవు పోయి దానిని ప్రేమించుము.

1. In the third year of Cyrus king of the Persians, a word was revealed to Daniel surnamed Baltassar, and a true word, and great strength: and he understood the word: for there is need of understanding in a vision.

2. కాగా నేను పదునైదు తులముల వెండియు ఏదుము యవలును తీసి కొని దానినికొని ఆమెతో ఇట్లంటిని

2. In those days I Daniel mourned the days of three weeks.

3. చాల దినములు నా పక్షమున నిలిచియుండి యే పురుషుని కూడకయు వ్యభిచారము చేయకయు నీవుండవలెను; నీయెడల నేనును ఆలాగున నుందును.

3. I ate no desirable bread, and neither flesh, nor wine entered into my mouth, neither was I anointed with ointment: till the days of three weeks were accomplished.

4. నిశ్చయముగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చాలదినములు రాజు లేకయు అధిపతిలేకయు బలినర్పింపకయు నుందురు. దేవతాస్తంభమును గాని ఏఫోదును గాని గృహదేవతలను గాని యుంచుకొనకుందురు.

4. And in the four and twentieth day of the first month I was by the great river which is the Tigris.

5. తరు వాత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తిరిగి వచ్చి తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవా యొద్దను తమ రాజైన దావీదునొద్దను విచా రణ చేయుదురు. ఈ దినముల అంతమందు వారు భయ భక్తులు కలిగి యెహోవా అనుగ్రహము నొందుటకై ఆయన యొద్దకు వత్తురు.

5. And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw: and behold a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girded with the finest gold:
