1. సీయోనులో నిర్విచారముగా నున్నవారికి శ్రమ, షోమ్రోను పర్వతములమీద నిశ్చింతగా నివసించువారికి శ్రమ; ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి విచారణకర్తలై జనములలో ముఖ్య జనమునకు పెద్దలైనవారికి శ్రమ

1. Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who are secure in the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come!

2. కల్నేకు పోయి విచారించుడి; అక్కడ నుండి హమాతు మహాపురమునకు పోవుడి, ఫిలిష్తీయుల పట్టణమైన గాతునకు పోవుడి; అవి ఈ రాజ్యములకంటె గొప్పవి గదా; వాటి సరిహద్దులు మీ సరిహద్దులకంటె విశాలమైనవి గదా.

2. Pass+ to Calneh, and see; and from there go+ to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines: are they better than these kingdoms? Or is their border greater than your+ border?

3. ఉపద్రవ దినము బహుదూరముననున్న దనుకొని అన్యాయపు తీర్పు తీర్చుటకై మీ మధ్య మీరు పీఠములు స్థాపింతురు.

3. --you+ who put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

4. దంతపు మంచముల మీద పరుండుచు, పాన్పులమీద తమ్మును చాచుకొనుచు, మందలో శ్రేష్ఠమైన గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలను సాలలోని క్రొవ్విన దూడలను వధించి భోజనము చేయు దురు.

4. who lie on beds of ivory, and stretch themselves on their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

5. స్వరమండలముతో కలిసి పిచ్చిపాటలు పాడుచు, దావీదువలెనే వాయించు వాద్యములను కల్పించు కొందురు.

5. who sing idle songs to the sound of the viol; who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David;

6. పాత్రలలో ద్రాక్షారసము పోసి పానము చేయుచు పరిమళ తైలము పూసికొనుచుందురు గాని యోసేపు సంతతివారికి కలిగిన ఉపద్రవమును గురించి చింతపడరు.

6. who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief oils; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

7. కాబట్టి చెరలోనికి ముందుగా పోవు వారితో కూడా వీరు చెరలోనికి పోవుదురు; అప్పుడు సుఖాసక్తులు చేయు ఉత్సవధ్వని గతించును. యాకోబు సంతతివారికున్న గర్వము నాకసహ్యము; వారి నగరులకు నేను విరోధినైతిని గనుక వారి పట్టణములను వాటిలోని సమస్తమును శత్రువుల వశము చేసెదనని

7. Therefore they will now go captive with the first that go captive; and the revelry of those who stretched themselves will pass away.

8. ప్రభువైన యెహోవా తనతోడని ప్రమాణము చేసెను; ఇదే దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

8. The Sovereign Yahweh has sworn by himself, says Yahweh, the God of hosts: I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces; therefore I will deliver up the city with all that is in it.

9. ఒక కుటుంబమందు పదిమంది మనుష్యులుండినను వారు చత్తురు.

9. And it will come to pass, if ten men remain in one house, that they will die.

10. ఒకని దాయాది కాల్చబోవు వానితోకూడ ఎముకలను ఇంటిలోనుండి బయటికి కొనిపోవుటకై శవ మును ఎత్తినప్పుడు ఇంటి వెనుకటి భాగమున ఒకనిచూచి యింటిలో మరి ఎవరైన మిగిలియున్నారా? యని అడుగగా అతడుఇంకెవరును లేరనును; అంతట దాయా దిట్లనునునీవిక నేమియు పలుకక ఊరకుండుము, యెహోవానామము స్మరించకూడదు;

10. And when a man's uncle will take him up, even he who burns him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and will say to him who is in the innermost parts of the house, Is there yet any with you? And he will say, No; then he will say, Hold your peace; for we may not make mention of the name of Yahweh.

11. ఏలయనగా గొప్ప కుటుంబములు పాడగుననియు, చిన్న కుటుంబములు చీలి పోవుననియు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియున్నాడు

11. For, look, Yahweh commands, and the great house will be struck with breaches, and the little house with clefts.

12. గుఱ్ఱములు బండలమీద పరుగెత్తునా? అట్టిచోట ఎవరైన ఎద్దులతో దున్నుదురా? అయినను మాశక్తిచేతనే బలము తెచ్చుకొందుమని చెప్పుకొను మీరు, వ్యర్థమైన దానినిబట్టి సంతోషించు మీరు,

12. Will horses run on the rock? Will one plow [there] with oxen? that you+ have turned justice into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood;

13. న్యాయమును ఘోరమైన అన్యా యముగాను, నీతిఫలమును ఘోరదుర్మార్గముగాను మార్చి తిరి.

13. you+ who rejoice in a thing of nothing, who say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

14. ఇందుకు దేవుడును సైన్యముల కధిపతియునగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నేను మీ మీదికి ఒక జనమును రప్పింతును, వారు హమాతునకు పోవుమార్గము మొదలుకొని అరణ్యపు నదివరకు మిమ్మును బాధింతురు.

14. For, look, I will raise up against you+ a nation, O house of Israel, says Yahweh, the God of hosts; and they will afflict you+ from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of the Arabah.
