1. నరహత్య చేసిన పట్టణమా, నీకు శ్రమ; అది ఎడ తెగక యెర పట్టుకొనుచు మోసముతోను బలాత్కారముతోను నిండియున్నది.

1. Woe to the bloody city, all lies, full of plunder, whose looting never stops!

2. సారధియొక్క చబుకు ధ్వనియు చక్రములధ్వనియు గుఱ్ఱముల త్రొక్కుడు ధ్వనియు వడిగా పరుగెత్తు రథములధ్వనియు వినబడు చున్నవి.

2. The crack of the whip, the rumbling sounds of wheels; horses a-gallop, chariots bounding,

3. రౌతులు వడిగా పరుగెత్తుచున్నారు, ఖడ్గములు తళతళలాడుచున్నవి, ఈటెలు మెరయుచున్నవి, చాలమంది హతమవుచున్నారు; చచ్చిన వారు కుప్పలు కుప్పలుగా పడియున్నారు; పీనుగులకు లెక్కయే లేదు, పీనుగులు కాలికి తగిలి జనులు తొట్రిల్లుచున్నారు.

3. Cavalry charging, The flame of the sword, the flash of the spear, the many slain, the heaping corpses, the endless bodies to stumble upon!

4. చక్కనిదానవై వేశ్యవై చిల్లంగి తనమందు జ్ఞానముగల దానవై జారత్వముచేసి జనాంగములమీద చిల్లంగితనము జరిగించి సంసారములను అమ్మివే సినదానా,

4. For the many debaucheries of the harlot, fair and charming, a mistress of witchcraft, Who enslaved nations with her harlotries, and peoples by her witchcraft:

5. నీవు చేసిన అధిక జారత్వమునుబట్టి సైన్యములకు అధిపతియగు యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేనేను నీకు విరోధినైయున్నాను, నీ చెంగులు నీ ముఖముమీది కెత్తి జనములకు నీ మానమును రాజ్యములకు నీ యవమానమును నేను బయలుపరతును.

5. I am come against you, and I will strip your skirt from you; I will show your nakedness to the nations, to the kingdoms your shame!

6. పదిమంది యెదుట నీమీద మాలిన్యమువేసి నిన్ను అవమాన పరచెదను.

6. I will cast filth upon you, disgrace you and put you to shame;

7. అప్పుడు నిన్ను చూచు వారందరు నీయొద్ద నుండి పారిపోయి నీనెవె పాడైపోయెనే, దానికొరకు అంగలార్చువారెవరు? నిన్ను ఓదార్చు వారిని ఎక్కడ నుండి పిలుచుకొని వచ్చెదము అందురు.

7. Till everyone who sees you runs from you, saying, 'Nineveh is destroyed; who can pity her? Where can one find any to console her?'

8. సముద్రమే తనకు ఆపుగాను సముద్రమే తనకు ప్రాకారముగాను చేసికొని, బహు జనములచేత చుట్టబడి నైలునది దగ్గర నుండిన నో అమోను పట్టణముకంటె నీవు విశేషమైన దానవా?

8. Are you better than No-amon that was set among the streams, Surrounded by waters, with the flood for her rampart and water her wall?

9. కూషీయులును ఐగుప్తీయులును దాని శూరులైరి, వారు విస్తార జనముగా నుండిరి, పూతువారును లూబీయులును నీకు సహాయులై యుండిరి.

9. Ethiopia was her strength, and Egypt, and others without end; Put and the Libyans were her auxiliaries.

10. అయినను అది చెరపట్టబడి కొనిపోబడెను, రాజమార్గముల మొగల యందు శత్రువులు దానిలోని చిన్న పిల్లలను బండలకు వేసి కొట్టి చంపిరి, దాని ఘనులమీద చీట్లువేసి దాని ప్రధానుల నందరిని సంకెళ్లతో బంధించిరి.

10. Yet even she went captive into exile, even her little ones were dashed to pieces at the corner of every street; For her nobles they cast lots, and all her great men were put into chains.

11. నీవును మత్తురాలవై దాగుకొందువు, శత్రువు వచ్చుట చూచి ఆశ్రయదుర్గము వెదకుదువు.

11. You too, shall drink of this till you faint away; you, too, shall seek a refuge from the foe.

12. అయితే నీ కోటలన్నియు అకాలపు పండ్లు గల అంజూరపు చెట్లవలె ఉన్నవి; ఒకడు వాటిని కదిలింపగానే పండ్లు తినవచ్చినవానినోట పడును;

12. All your fortresses are but fig trees, bearing early figs That fall, when shaken, into the hungry mouth.

13. నీ జనులు స్త్రీలవంటివారైరి, నీ శత్రువులు చొచ్చునట్లు నీ దేశపు గవునుల యడ్డకఱ్ఱలు తీయబడియున్నవి, అగ్ని నీ అడ్డగడియలను కాల్చుచున్నది.

13. See, the troops are women in your midst; to your foes the gates of your land are open wide, fire has consumed their bars.

14. ముట్టడివేయు కాలమునకు నీళ్లు చేదుకొనుము, నీ కోటలను బలపరచుము, జిగట మంటిలోనికి దిగి యిటుకల బురదను త్రొక్కుము, ఆవములను సిద్ధపరచుము.

14. Draw water for the siege, strengthen your fortresses; Go down into the mud and tread the clay, take hold of the brick mold!

15. అచ్చటనే అగ్ని నిన్ను కాల్చివేయును, ఖడ్గము నిన్ను నాశనముచేయును, గొంగళిపురుగు తినివేయురీతిగా అది నిన్ను తినివేయును, నీవు సంఖ్యకు గొంగళిపురుగులంత విస్తారముగాను మిడుత లంత విస్తారముగాను ఉండుము.

15. There the fire shall consume you, the sword shall cut you down. Multiply like the grasshoppers, multiply like the locusts!

16. నీ వర్తకులు లెక్కకు ఆకాశ నక్షత్రములకంటె ఎక్కువగానున్నను గొంగళి పురుగు వచ్చి అంతయు నాకివేసి యెగిరిపోయెను.

16. Make your couriers more numerous than the stars,

17. నీవు ఏర్పరచిన శూరులు మిడుతలంత విస్తారముగా నున్నారు, నీ సైనికులు చలికాలమందు కంచెలలో దిగిన గొంగళి పురుగులవలె నున్నారు. ఎండకాయగా అవి యెగిరి పోవును, అవి ఎక్కడ వాలినది ఎవరికిని తెలియదు.

17. your garrisons as many as grasshoppers, And your scribes as locust swarms gathered on the rubble fences on a cold day! Yet when the sun warms them, the grasshoppers will spread their wings and fly, and vanish, no one knows where.

18. అష్షూరు రాజా, నీ కాపరులు నిద్రపోయిరి, నీ ప్రధా నులు పండుకొనిరి, నీ జనులు పర్వతములమీద చెదరి పోయిరి, వారిని సమకూర్చువాడొకడును లేడు.

18. Alas! how your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria, your nobles have gone to rest; Your people are scattered upon the mountains, with none to gather them.

19. నీకు తగిలిన దెబ్బ బహు చెడ్డది, నీ గాయమునకు చికిత్స ఎవడును చేయజాలడు, జనులందరు ఎడతెగక నీచేత హింసనొందిరి, నిన్నుగూర్చిన వార్త విను వారందరు నీ విషయమై చప్పట్లు కొట్టుదురు.

19. There is no healing for your hurt, your wound is mortal. All who hear this news of you clap their hands over you; For who has not been overwhelmed, steadily, by your malice?
