1. నరహత్య చేసిన పట్టణమా, నీకు శ్రమ; అది ఎడ తెగక యెర పట్టుకొనుచు మోసముతోను బలాత్కారముతోను నిండియున్నది.

1. Ah! City of bloodshed, utterly deceitful, full of booty-- no end to the plunder!

2. సారధియొక్క చబుకు ధ్వనియు చక్రములధ్వనియు గుఱ్ఱముల త్రొక్కుడు ధ్వనియు వడిగా పరుగెత్తు రథములధ్వనియు వినబడు చున్నవి.

2. The crack of whip and rumble of wheel, galloping horse and bounding chariot!

3. రౌతులు వడిగా పరుగెత్తుచున్నారు, ఖడ్గములు తళతళలాడుచున్నవి, ఈటెలు మెరయుచున్నవి, చాలమంది హతమవుచున్నారు; చచ్చిన వారు కుప్పలు కుప్పలుగా పడియున్నారు; పీనుగులకు లెక్కయే లేదు, పీనుగులు కాలికి తగిలి జనులు తొట్రిల్లుచున్నారు.

3. Horsemen charging, flashing sword and glittering spear, piles of dead, heaps of corpses, dead bodies without end-- they stumble over the bodies!

4. చక్కనిదానవై వేశ్యవై చిల్లంగి తనమందు జ్ఞానముగల దానవై జారత్వముచేసి జనాంగములమీద చిల్లంగితనము జరిగించి సంసారములను అమ్మివే సినదానా,

4. Because of the countless debaucheries of the prostitute, gracefully alluring, mistress of sorcery, who enslaves nations through her debaucheries, and peoples through her sorcery,

5. నీవు చేసిన అధిక జారత్వమునుబట్టి సైన్యములకు అధిపతియగు యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేనేను నీకు విరోధినైయున్నాను, నీ చెంగులు నీ ముఖముమీది కెత్తి జనములకు నీ మానమును రాజ్యములకు నీ యవమానమును నేను బయలుపరతును.

5. I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and will lift up your skirts over your face; and I will let nations look on your nakedness and kingdoms on your shame.

6. పదిమంది యెదుట నీమీద మాలిన్యమువేసి నిన్ను అవమాన పరచెదను.

6. I will throw filth at you and treat you with contempt, and make you a spectacle.

7. అప్పుడు నిన్ను చూచు వారందరు నీయొద్ద నుండి పారిపోయి నీనెవె పాడైపోయెనే, దానికొరకు అంగలార్చువారెవరు? నిన్ను ఓదార్చు వారిని ఎక్కడ నుండి పిలుచుకొని వచ్చెదము అందురు.

7. Then all who see you will shrink from you and say, Nineveh is devastated; who will bemoan her? Where shall I seek comforters for you?

8. సముద్రమే తనకు ఆపుగాను సముద్రమే తనకు ప్రాకారముగాను చేసికొని, బహు జనములచేత చుట్టబడి నైలునది దగ్గర నుండిన నో అమోను పట్టణముకంటె నీవు విశేషమైన దానవా?

8. Are you better than Thebes that sat by the Nile, with water around her, her rampart a sea, water her wall?

9. కూషీయులును ఐగుప్తీయులును దాని శూరులైరి, వారు విస్తార జనముగా నుండిరి, పూతువారును లూబీయులును నీకు సహాయులై యుండిరి.

9. Ethiopia was her strength, Egypt too, and that without limit; Put and the Libyans were her helpers.

10. అయినను అది చెరపట్టబడి కొనిపోబడెను, రాజమార్గముల మొగల యందు శత్రువులు దానిలోని చిన్న పిల్లలను బండలకు వేసి కొట్టి చంపిరి, దాని ఘనులమీద చీట్లువేసి దాని ప్రధానుల నందరిని సంకెళ్లతో బంధించిరి.

10. Yet she became an exile, she went into captivity; even her infants were dashed in pieces at the head of every street; lots were cast for her nobles, all her dignitaries were bound in fetters.

11. నీవును మత్తురాలవై దాగుకొందువు, శత్రువు వచ్చుట చూచి ఆశ్రయదుర్గము వెదకుదువు.

11. You also will be drunken, you will go into hiding; you will seek a refuge from the enemy.

12. అయితే నీ కోటలన్నియు అకాలపు పండ్లు గల అంజూరపు చెట్లవలె ఉన్నవి; ఒకడు వాటిని కదిలింపగానే పండ్లు తినవచ్చినవానినోట పడును;

12. All your fortresses are like fig trees with first-ripe figs-- if shaken they fall into the mouth of the eater.

13. నీ జనులు స్త్రీలవంటివారైరి, నీ శత్రువులు చొచ్చునట్లు నీ దేశపు గవునుల యడ్డకఱ్ఱలు తీయబడియున్నవి, అగ్ని నీ అడ్డగడియలను కాల్చుచున్నది.

13. Look at your troops: they are women in your midst. The gates of your land are wide open to your foes; fire has devoured the bars of your gates.

14. ముట్టడివేయు కాలమునకు నీళ్లు చేదుకొనుము, నీ కోటలను బలపరచుము, జిగట మంటిలోనికి దిగి యిటుకల బురదను త్రొక్కుము, ఆవములను సిద్ధపరచుము.

14. Draw water for the siege, strengthen your forts; trample the clay, tread the mortar, take hold of the brick mold!

15. అచ్చటనే అగ్ని నిన్ను కాల్చివేయును, ఖడ్గము నిన్ను నాశనముచేయును, గొంగళిపురుగు తినివేయురీతిగా అది నిన్ను తినివేయును, నీవు సంఖ్యకు గొంగళిపురుగులంత విస్తారముగాను మిడుత లంత విస్తారముగాను ఉండుము.

15. There the fire will devour you, the sword will cut you off. It will devour you like the locust. Multiply yourselves like the locust, multiply like the grasshopper!

16. నీ వర్తకులు లెక్కకు ఆకాశ నక్షత్రములకంటె ఎక్కువగానున్నను గొంగళి పురుగు వచ్చి అంతయు నాకివేసి యెగిరిపోయెను.

16. You increased your merchants more than the stars of the heavens. The locust sheds its skin and flies away.

17. నీవు ఏర్పరచిన శూరులు మిడుతలంత విస్తారముగా నున్నారు, నీ సైనికులు చలికాలమందు కంచెలలో దిగిన గొంగళి పురుగులవలె నున్నారు. ఎండకాయగా అవి యెగిరి పోవును, అవి ఎక్కడ వాలినది ఎవరికిని తెలియదు.

17. Your guards are like grasshoppers, your scribes like swarms of locusts settling on the fences on a cold day-- when the sun rises, they fly away; no one knows where they have gone.

18. అష్షూరు రాజా, నీ కాపరులు నిద్రపోయిరి, నీ ప్రధా నులు పండుకొనిరి, నీ జనులు పర్వతములమీద చెదరి పోయిరి, వారిని సమకూర్చువాడొకడును లేడు.

18. Your shepherds are asleep, O king of Assyria; your nobles slumber. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no one to gather them.

19. నీకు తగిలిన దెబ్బ బహు చెడ్డది, నీ గాయమునకు చికిత్స ఎవడును చేయజాలడు, జనులందరు ఎడతెగక నీచేత హింసనొందిరి, నిన్నుగూర్చిన వార్త విను వారందరు నీ విషయమై చప్పట్లు కొట్టుదురు.

19. There is no assuaging your hurt, your wound is mortal. All who hear the news about you clap their hands over you. For who has ever escaped your endless cruelty?
