1. ప్రవక్తయగు హబక్కూకునొద్దకు దర్శనరీతిగా వచ్చిన దేవోక్తి.

1. The burden which Habakkuk the prophet saw.

2. యెహోవా, నేను మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినను నీవెన్నాళ్లు ఆలకింప కుందువు? బలాత్కారము జరుగుచున్నదని నేను నీకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినను నీవు రక్షింపక యున్నావు.

2. O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! [even] cry out to thee [of] violence, and thou wilt not save!

3. నన్నెందుకు దోషము చూడనిచ్చుచున్నావు? బాధ నీవేల ఊరకయే చూచుచున్నావు? ఎక్కడ చూచినను నాశనమును బలా త్కారమును అగుపడుచున్నవి, జగడమును కలహమును రేగుచున్నవి.

3. Why dost thou show me iniquity, and cause [me] to behold grievance? for plundering and violence [are] before me: and there are [that] raise strife and contention.

4. అందువలన ధర్మశాస్త్రము నిరర్థకమాయెను, న్యాయము ఎన్నడును జరుగకుండ మానిపోయెను, భక్తి హీనులు వచ్చి నీతిపరులను చుట్టుకొందురు, న్యాయము చెడిపోవుచున్నది.

4. Therefore the law is feeble, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth surround the righteous; therefore judgment goeth forth perverted

5. అన్యజనులలో జరుగునది చూడుడి, ఆలోచించుడి, కేవలము విస్మయమునొందుడి. మీ దినములలో నేనొక కార్యము జరిగింతును, ఆలాగు జరుగునని యొకడు మీకు తెలిపినను మీరతని నమ్మకయుందురు.

5. Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for [I] will work a work in your days, [which] ye will not believe, though it be told [you].

6. ఆలకించుడి, తమవికాని ఉనికిపట్టులను ఆక్రమించవలెనని భూదిగంతములవరకు సంచరించు ఉద్రేకముగల క్రూరులగు కల్దీయులను నేను రేపు చున్నాను.

6. For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, [that] bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces [that are] not theirs.

7. వారు ఘోరమైన భీకరజనముగా ఉన్నారు, వారు ప్రభుత్వ మును విధులను తమ యిచ్ఛవచ్చినట్లు ఏర్పరచుకొందురు.

7. They [are] terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed from themselves.

8. వారి గుఱ్ఱ ములు చిరుతపులులకంటె వేగముగా పరుగులెత్తును, రాత్రి యందు తిరుగులాడు తోడేళ్లకంటెను అవి చురుకైనవి;వారి రౌతులు దూరమునుండి వచ్చి తటాలున జొరబడు దురు, ఎరను పట్టుకొనుటకై పక్షిరాజు వడిగా వచ్చునట్లు వారు పరుగులెత్తి వత్తురు.

8. Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle [that] hasteth to eat.

9. వెనుక చూడకుండ బలా త్కారము చేయుటకై వారు వత్తురు, ఇసుక రేణువులంత విస్తారముగా వారు జనులను చెరపట్టు కొందురు.

9. They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up [as] the east wind, and they shall gather the captives as the sand.

10. రాజు లను అపహాస్యము చేతురు, అధిపతులను హేళన చేతురు, ప్రాకారముగల దుర్గములన్నిటిని తృణీకరింతురు, మంటి దిబ్బవేసి వాటిని పట్టుకొందురు.

10. And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn to them: they shall laugh at every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

11. తమ బలమునే తమకు దేవతగా భావింతురు, గాలికొట్టుకొని పోవునట్లు వారు కొట్టుకొని పోవుచు అపరాధులగుదురు.

11. Then shall [his] mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, [imputing] this his power to his god.

12. యెహోవా నా దేవా, నా పరిశుద్ధ దేవా, ఆదినుండి నీవున్నవాడవు కావా? మేము మరణమునొందము; యెహోవా, తీర్పు తీర్చుటకు నీవు వారిని నియమించియున్నావు; ఆశ్రయ దుర్గమా, మమ్మును దండించుటకు వారిని పుట్టించితివి.

12. [Art] thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

13. నీ కనుదృష్టి దుష్టత్వము చూడలేనంత నిష్కళంకమైనది గదా; బాధించువారుచేయు బాధను నీవు దృష్టింపజాలవు గదా; కపటులను నీవు చూచియు, దుర్మార్గులు తమకంటె ఎక్కువ నీతిపరులను నాశనము చేయగా నీవు చూచియు ఎందుకు ఊరకున్నావు?

13. [Thou art] of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: why lookest thou on them that deal treacherously, [and] keepest silence when the wicked devoureth [the man that is] more righteous than he?

14. ఏలికలేని చేపలతోను ప్రాకు పురుగులతోను నీవు నరులను సమానులనుగా చేసితివి.

14. And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, [that have] no ruler over them?

15. వాడు గాలమువేసి మానవుల నందరిని గుచ్చి లాగి యున్నాడు, ఉరులు ఒగ్గి చిక్కించుకొనుచున్నాడు, వాడు తన వలతో వారిని కూర్చుకొని సంతోషపడి గంతులువేయుచున్నాడు.

15. They take up all of them with the hook, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

16. కావున వలవలన మంచి భాగమును పుష్టినిచ్చు భోజనమును తనకు కలుగుచున్న వని వాడు తన వలకు బలుల నర్పించుచున్నాడు, తన ఉరులకు ధూపము వేయుచున్నాడు.

16. Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their drag; because by them their portion [is] fat, and their food plenteous.

17. వాడు ఎల్లప్పుడును తన వలలోనుండి దిమ్మరించుచుండవలెనా? ఎప్పటికిని మానకుండ వాడు జనములను హతము చేయు చుండవలెనా?

17. Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
