1. అప్పుడు యోసేపు కుమారుడైన మనష్షే వంశస్థు లలో సెలోపెహాదు కుమార్తెలు వచ్చిరి. సెలోపెహాదు హెసెరు కుమారుడును గిలాదు మనుమడును మాకీరు మునిమనుమడునై యుండెను. అతని కుమార్తెల పేళ్లు మహలా, నోయా, హొగ్లా, మిల్కా, తిర్సా అనునవి.

1. Zelophehad, son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, son of Joseph, had daughters named Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. They came forward,

2. వారు ప్రత్యక్షపు గుడారముయొక్క ద్వారమునొద్ద మోషే యెదుటను యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు ఎదుటను ప్రధానుల యెదుటను సర్వసమాజము యెదుటను నిలిచి చెప్పినదేమనగామా తండ్రి అరణ్యములో మరణ మాయెను.

2. and standing in the presence of Moses, the priest Eleazar, the princes, and the whole community at the entrance of the meeting tent, said:

3. అతడు కోరహు సమూహములో, అనగా యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా కూడినవారి సమూహములో ఉండలేదు గాని తన పాపమును బట్టి మృతిబొందెను.

3. "Our father died in the desert. Although he did not join those who banded together against the LORD (in Korah's band), he died for his own sin without leaving any sons.

4. అతనికి కుమారులు కలుగలేదు; అతనికి కుమారులు లేనంత మాత్రముచేత మా తండ్రిపేరు అతని వంశములోనుండి మాసిపోనేల? మా తండ్రి సహోదరులతో పాటు స్వాస్థ్య మును మాకు దయచేయుమనిరి.

4. But why should our father's name be withdrawn from his clan merely because he had no son? Let us, therefore, have property among our father's kinsmen."

5. అప్పుడు మోషే వారి కొరకు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మనవిచేయగా

5. When Moses laid their case before the LORD,

6. యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను. సెలోపెహాదు కుమా ర్తెలు చెప్పినది యుక్తము.

6. the LORD said to him,

7. నిశ్చయముగా వారి తండ్రి సహోదరులతో పాటు భూస్వాస్థ్యమును వారి అధీనము చేసి వారి తండ్రి స్వాస్థ్యమును వారికి చెందచేయవలెను.

7. "The plea of Zelophehad's daughters is just; you shall give them hereditary property among their father's kinsmen, letting their father's heritage pass on to them.

8. మరియు నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లు చెప్పవలెను ఒకడు కుమారుడు లేక మృతి బొందినయెడల మీరు వాని భూస్వాస్థ్యమును వాని కుమార్తెలకు చెందచేయవలెను.

8. Therefore, tell the Israelites: If a man dies without leaving a son, you shall let his heritage pass on to his daughter;

9. వానికి కుమార్తె లేనియెడల వాని అన్నదమ్ములకు వాని స్వాస్థ్యము ఇయ్యవలెను.

9. if he has no daughter, you shall give his heritage to his brothers;

10. వానికి అన్నదమ్ములు లేని యెడల వాని భూస్వాస్థ్యమును వాని తండ్రి అన్న దమ్ములకు ఇయ్యవలెను.

10. if he has no brothers, you shall give his heritage to his father's brothers;

11. వాని తండ్రికి అన్నదమ్ములు లేని యెడల వాని కుటుంబములో వానికి సమీపమైన జ్ఞాతికి వాని స్వాస్థ్యము ఇయ్యవలెను; వాడు దాని స్వాధీనపరచు కొనును. యెహోవా మోషేకు ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు ఇది ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు విధింపబడిన కట్టడ.

11. if his father had no brothers, you shall give his heritage to his nearest relative in his clan, who shall then take possession of it." This is the legal norm for the Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.

12. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేతో ఇట్లనెనునీవు ఈ అబారీము కొండయెక్కి నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఇచ్చిన దేశమును చూడుము.

12. The LORD said to Moses, "Go up here into the Abarim Mountains and view the land that I am giving to the Israelites.

13. నీవు దాని చూచిన తరువాత నీ సహోదరుడైన అహరోను చేర్చబడినట్లు నీవును నీ స్వజ నులలో చేర్చబడుదువు.

13. When you have viewed it, you too shall be taken to your people, as was your brother Aaron,

14. ఏలయనగా సీను అరణ్యములో సమాజము వాదించినప్పుడు ఆ నీళ్లయొద్ద వారి కన్నుల యెదుట నన్ను పరిశుద్ధపరచక నామీద తిరుగబడితిరి. ఆ నీళ్లు సీను అరణ్యమందలి కాదేషులోనున్న మెరీబా నీళ్లే.

14. because in the rebellion of the community in the desert of Zin you both rebelled against my order to manifest my sanctity to them by means of the water." (This is the water of Meribah of Kadesh in the desert of Zin.)

15. అప్పుడు మోషే యెహోవాతో ఇట్లనెను యెహోవా, సమస్త మానవుల ఆత్మలకు దేవా, యెహోవా సమాజము కాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలె ఉండకుండునట్లు ఈ సమాజముమీద ఒకని నియమించుము.

15. Then Moses said to the LORD,

16. అతడు వారి యెదుట వచ్చుచు, పోవుచునుండి,

16. "May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all mankind, set over the community a man

17. who shall act as their leader in all things, to guide them in all their actions; that the LORD'S community may not be like sheep without a shepherd."

18. అందుకు యెహోవా మోషేతో ఇట్లనెనునూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువ ఆత్మను పొందినవాడు. నీవు అతని తీసికొని అతనిమీద నీ చెయ్యి యుంచి

18. And the LORD replied to Moses, "Take Joshua, son of Nun, a man of spirit, and lay your hand upon him.

19. యాజకుడగు ఎలియాజరు ఎదుటను సర్వసమాజము ఎదుటను అతని నిలువబెట్టి వారి కన్నుల యెదుట అతనికి ఆజ్ఞ యిమ్ము;

19. Have him stand in the presence of the priest Eleazar and of the whole community, and commission him before their eyes.

20. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సర్వ సమాజము అతని మాట వినునట్లు అతని మీద నీ ఘనతలో కొంత ఉంచుము.

20. Invest him with some of your own dignity, that the whole Israelite community may obey him.

21. యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు ఎదుట అతడు నిలువగా అతడు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఊరీము తీర్పువలన అతనికొరకు విచారింపవలెను. అతడును అతనితో కూడ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును, అనగా సర్వసమాజము అతని మాటచొప్పున తమ సమస్త కార్యములను జరుపుచుండవలెను.

21. He shall present himself to the priest Eleazar, to have him seek out for him the decisions of the Urim in the LORD'S presence; and as he directs, Joshua, all the Israelites with him, and the community as a whole shall perform all their actions."

22. యెహోవా మోషేకు ఆజ్ఞాపించి నట్లు అతడు చేసెను. అతడు యెహోషువను తీసికొని యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు ఎదుటను సర్వసమాజము ఎదుటను అతని నిలువ బెట్టి

22. Moses did as the LORD had commanded him. Taking Joshua and having him stand in the presence of the priest Eleazar and of the whole community,

23. అతనిమీద తన చేతులుంచి యెహోవా మోషే ద్వారా ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు అతనికి ఆజ్ఞ యిచ్చెను.

23. he laid his hands on him and gave him his commission, as the LORD had directed through Moses.
