1. రూబేనీయులకును గాదీయులకును అతివిస్తారమైన మందలుండెను గనుక యాజెరు ప్రదేశమును గిలాదు ప్రదేశమును మందలకు తగిన స్థలమని తెలిసికొని

1. The tribes of Reuben and Gad had very large herds and flocks. They looked at the lands of Jazer and Gilead. They saw that those lands were just right for livestock.

2. వారు వచ్చి మోషేను యాజకుడగు ఎలియాజరును సమాజ ప్రధానులతొ

2. So they came to Moses and the priest Eleazar. They also came to the leaders of the community. They said,

3. అతారోతు దీబోను యాజెరు నిమ్రా హెష్బోను ఏలాలే షెబాము నెబో బెయోను అను స్థలములు, అనగా

3. 'We have seen the cities of Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah and Heshbon. We've seen Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo and Beon.

4. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సమాజము ఎదుట యెహోవా జయించిన దేశము మందలకు తగిన ప్రదేశము. నీ సేవకులమైన మాకు మందలు కలవు.

4. All of them are in the land the Lord has brought under Israel's control. This land is just right for livestock. And we have livestock.

5. కాబట్టి మా యెడల నీకు కటాక్షము కలిగినయెడల, మమ్మును యొర్దాను అద్దరికి దాటింపక నీ దాసులమైన మాకు ఈ దేశమును స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇమ్మనగా

5. We hope you are pleased with us,' they continued. 'If you are, please give us this land. Then it will belong to us. But don't make us go across the Jordan River.'

6. మోషే గాదీయులతోను రూబేనీయులతోను మీ సహోదరులు యుద్ధమునకు పోవుచుండగా మీరు ఇక్కడ కూర్చుండవచ్చునా?

6. Moses spoke to the people of Gad and Reuben. He said, 'Should the rest of us go to war while you stay here?

7. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లకయుండునట్లు మీరేల వారి హృదయములను అధైర్య పరచుదురు?

7. The Lord has given the land of Canaan to the people of Israel. So why would you want to keep them from going over into it?

8. ఆ దేశమును చూచుటకు కాదేషు బర్నేయలోనుండి మీ తండ్రులను నేను పంపినప్పుడు వారును ఆలాగు చేసిరిగదా

8. 'That's what your fathers did. I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to check out the land.

9. వారు ఎష్కోలు లోయలోనికి వెళ్లి ఆ దేశమును చూచి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల హృదయమును అధైర్యపరచిరి గనుక యెహోవా తమకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లక పోయిరి.

9. They went up to the Valley of Eshcol and looked at the land. Then they talked the people of Israel out of entering the land the Lord had given them.

10. ఆ దినమున యెహోవా కోపము రగులుకొని

10. 'The Lord's anger was stirred up that day. So he took an oath and made a promise. He said,

11. ఇరువది ఏండ్లు మొదలుకొని పైప్రాయము కలిగి ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి వచ్చిన మనుష్యులలో పూర్ణ మనస్సుతో యెహోవాను అనుసరించిన కెనెజీయుడగు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడైన కాలేబును నూనుకుమారుడైన యెహోషువయు తప్ప

11. Not one of the men who is 20 years old or more who came up out of Egypt will see the land. They have not followed me with their whole heart. I took an oath and promised to give the land to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

12. మరి ఎవడును పూర్ణమనస్సుతో నన్ను అనుసరింపలేదు గనుక నేను అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకు యాకోబులకు ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా నిచ్చిన దేశమును వారు తప్ప మరి ఎవరును చూడనే చూడరని ప్రమాణము చేసెను.

12. 'But not one of these men will see it except Caleb and Joshua. Caleb is the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite. And Joshua is the son of Nun. They will see the land. They followed me with their whole heart.'

13. అప్పుడు యెహోవా కోపము ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద రగులుకొనగా యెహోవా దృష్ఠికి చెడునడత నడిచిన ఆ తరమువారందరు నశించువరకు అరణ్యములో నలుబది ఏండ్లు ఆయన వారిని తిరుగులాడచేసెను.

13. 'The Lord's anger burned against Israel. He made them wander around in the desert for 40 years. They wandered until all of the people who had done evil in his sight had died.

14. ఇప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెడల యెహోవాకు కోపము మరి ఎక్కువగా పుట్టించునట్లుగా ఆ పాపుల సంతానమైన మీరు మీ తండ్రులకు ప్రతిగా బయలుదేరి యున్నారు.

14. 'Now here you are, you bunch of sinners! You have taken the place of your fathers. And you are making the Lord even more angry with Israel.

15. మీరు ఆయనను అనుసరింపక వెనుకకు మళ్లినయెడల ఆయన ఈ అరణ్యములో జనులను ఇంక నిలువ చేయును. అట్లు మీరు ఈ సర్వజనమును నశింపచేసెదరనెను.

15. What if you turn away from following him? Then he'll leave all of these people in the desert again. And it will be your fault when they are destroyed.'

16. అందుకు వారు అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చి మేము ఇక్కడ మా మందలకొరకు దొడ్లను మా పిల్లల కొరకు పురములను కట్టుకొందుము.

16. Then they came up to Moses. They said, 'We would like to build pens here for our livestock. We would also like to build cities for our women and children.

17. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను వారివారి స్థలములకు చేర్చువరకు మేము వారి ముందర యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి సాగుదుము. అయితే మా పిల్లలు ఈ దేశనివాసుల భయముచేత ప్రాకారముగల పురములలో నివసింపవలెను.

17. But we're ready to prepare ourselves for battle. We're even ready to go ahead of the people of Israel. We'll go with them until we've brought them to their place. While we're gone, our women and children will live in cities that have high walls around them. That will keep them safe from the people who are living in this land.

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ప్రతివాడును తన తన స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందువరకు మా యిండ్లకు తిరిగి రాము.

18. 'We won't return to our homes until all of the people of Israel have received their share of the land.

19. తూర్పుదిక్కున యొర్దాను ఇవతల మాకు స్వాస్థ్యము దొరికెను గనుక యొర్దాను అవతల దూరముగా వారితో స్వాస్థ్యము పొందమనిరి.

19. 'We won't receive any share with them on the west side of the Jordan River. We've already received our share here on the east side.'

20. అప్పుడు మోషే వారితోమీరు మీ మాటమీద నిలిచి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి యెహోవా తన యెదుటనుండి తన శత్రువులను వెళ్ల గొట్టువరకు

20. Then Moses said to them, 'Do what you have promised to do. Prepare yourselves to fight for the Lord.

21. యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీరందరు యుద్ధ సన్నద్ధులై యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల

21. Prepare yourselves and go across the Jordan River. Fight for the Lord until he has driven out his enemies in front of him.

22. ఆ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చి యెహోవా దృష్టికిని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దృష్టికిని నిర్దోషులై యుందురు; అప్పుడు ఈ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీకు స్వాస్థ్యమగును.

22. When the land is under the Lord's control, you can come back here. Your duty to the Lord and Israel will be over. Then the Lord will give you this land as your own.

23. మీరు అట్లు చేయని యెడల యెహోవా దృష్టికి పాపముచేసిన వారగుదురు గనుక మీ పాపము మిమ్మును పట్టుకొనును అని తెలిసికొనుడి.

23. 'But what if you fail to do your duty? Then you will be sinning against the Lord. And you can be sure that your sin will be discovered. It will be brought out into the open.

24. మీరు మీ పిల్లలకొరకు పురములను మీ మందల కొరకు దొడ్లను కట్టుకొని మీ నోటనుండి వచ్చిన మాట చొప్పున చేయుడనెను.

24. 'So build up cities for your women and children. Make sheep pens for your flocks. But do what you have promised to do.'

25. అందుకు గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును మోషేతో మా యేలినవాడు ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు నీ దాసులమైన మేము చేసెదము.

25. The people of Gad and Reuben spoke to Moses. They said, 'We will do just as you command.

26. మా పిల్లలు మా భార్యలు మా మందలు మా సమస్త పశువులు అక్కడ గిలాదు పురములలో ఉండును.

26. Our children and wives will remain here in the cities of Gilead. So will our flocks and herds.

27. నీ దాసులమైన మేము, అనగా మా సేనలో ప్రతి యోధుడును మా యేలినవాడు చెప్పినట్లు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు యొర్దాను అవతలికివచ్చెదమనిరి.

27. But we will prepare ourselves for battle. We'll go across the Jordan River and fight for the Lord. We will do just as you have said.'

28. కాబట్టి మోషే వారినిగూర్చి యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు కును, నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువకును, ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల గోత్రములలో పితరుల కుటుంబ ముల ప్రధానులకును ఆజ్ఞాపించి వారితో ఇట్లనెను

28. Then Moses gave orders about them to the priest Eleazar. He gave the same orders to Joshua, the son of Nun. He also spoke to the family heads of the tribes of Israel.

29. గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును అందరు యెహో వా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్దపడి మీతో కూడ యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల ఆ దేశము మీచేత జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు గిలాదు దేశమును వారికి స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యవలెను.

29. He said, 'The men of Gad and Reuben must prepare themselves for battle. They must go across the Jordan River with you. They must help you fight for the Lord. They must stay with you until the land has been brought under your control. If they do, give them the land of Gilead as their own.

30. అయితే వారు మీతో కలిసి యోధులై ఆవలికి వెళ్లనియెడల వారు కనాను దేశమందే మీ మధ్యను స్వాస్థ్యములను పొందుదురనగా

30. 'But what if they don't get ready for battle? What if they don't go across the Jordan with you? Then they must accept a share with you in Canaan.'

31. గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును యెహోవా నీ దాసులమైన మాతో చెప్పినట్లే చేసెదము.

31. The people of Gad and Reuben gave their answer. They said, 'We will do what the Lord has said.

32. మేము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులమైనది దాటి కనాను దేశములోనికి వెళ్లెదము. అప్పుడు యొర్దాను ఇవతల మేము స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందెదమని ఉత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

32. We'll get ready for battle. We'll go across the Jordan into Canaan. We'll fight for the Lord there. But the property we receive will be on this side of the Jordan River.'

33. అప్పుడు మోషే వారికి, అనగా గాదీయులకును రూబేనీయులకును యోసేపు కుమారుడైన మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపు వారికిని, అమోరీయుల రాజైన సీహోను రాజ్యమును, బాషాను రాజైన ఓగు రాజ్యమును, దాని ప్రాంతపురములతో ఆ దేశమును చట్టునుండు ఆ దేశపురములను ఇచ్చెను.

33. Then Moses gave their land to them. He gave it to the tribes of Gad and Reuben and half of the tribe of Manasseh. Manasseh was Joseph's son. One part of that land had belonged to the kingdom of Sihon, the king of the Amorites. The other part had belonged to the kingdom of Og, the king of Bashan. Moses gave that whole land to those two and a half tribes. It included its cities and the territory around them.

34. గాదీయులు దీబోను అతారోతు అరోయేరు అత్రోతు షోపాను

34. The people of Gad built up the cities of Dibon, Ataroth and Aroer.

35. యాజెరు యొగ్బెహ బేత్నిమ్రా బేత్హారాను

35. They built up Atroth Shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,

36. అను ప్రాకారములుగల పురములను మందల దొడ్లను కట్టుకొనిరి.

36. Beth Nimrah and Beth Haran. They built a high wall around each of those cities. They also built sheep pens for their flocks.

37. రూబేనీయులు మారుపేరుపొందిన హెష్బోను ఏలాలే కిర్యతాయిము నెబో బయల్మెయోను

37. The people of Reuben built up Heshbon, Elealeh and Kiriathaim.

38. షిబ్మా అను పురములను కట్టి, తాము కట్టిన ఆ పురములకు వేరు పేరులు పెట్టిరి.

38. They also built up Nebo, Baal Meon and Sibmah. They gave new names to the cities they had built up.

39. మనష్షే కుమారులైన మాకీరీయులు గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి దాని పట్టుకొని దానిలోనున్న అమోరీయులను వెళ్లగొట్టిరి.

39. The people of Makir, the son of Manasseh, went to the land of Gilead. They captured it. They drove out the Amorites who were living there.

40. మోషే మనష్షే కుమారుడైన మాకీరుకు గిలాదునిచ్చెను

40. So Moses gave Gilead to the people of Makir, the son of Manasseh. And they settled there.

41. అతడు అక్కడ నివసించెను. మనష్షే కుమారుడైన యాయీరు వెళ్లి వారి పల్లెలను పట్టుకొని వాటికి యాయీరు పల్లెలను పేరు పెట్టెను.

41. Jair was a man in the family line of Manasseh. Jair captured Gilead's settlements. He called them Havvoth Jair.

42. నోబహు వెళ్లి కెనాతును దాని గ్రామములను పట్టుకొని దానికి నోబహు అని తన పేరు పెట్టెను.

42. Nobah captured Kenath and the settlements that were around it. He named it after himself.
