1. మరియు యెరికో యొద్ద యొర్దానుకు సమీపమైన మోయాబు మైదానములలో యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. And Yahweh spake unto Moses in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho, saying:

2. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తాము పొందు స్వాస్థ్యములో లేవీయులు నివసించుటకు వారికి పురములను ఇయ్యవలెనని వారి కాజ్ఞాపించుము; ఆ పురముల చుట్టునున్న పల్లెలను లేవీయులకియ్యవలెను.

2. Command the sons of Israel, that they give unto the Levites out of the inheritance which they possess cities to dwell in, pasture land also unto the cities, round about them, shall ye give unto the Levites.

3. వారు నివసించుటకు ఆ పురములు వారివగును. వాటి పొలములు వారి పశువులకును వారి మందలకును వారి సమస్త జంతువులకును ఉండవలెను.

3. So shall the cities be theirs, to dwell in, and their pasture lands, shall, ye for their cattle and for their goods and for all their beasts.

4. మీరు లేవీయులకిచ్చు పురముల పల్లెల ప్రతి పురముయొక్క గోడ మొదలుకొని చుట్టు వెయ్యి మూరలు

4. And, the pasture lands of the cities which ye shall give unto the Levite, shall be, from the wail of the city, and outwards, a thousand cubits round about

5. మరియు మీరు ఆ పురముల వెలుపల నుండి తూర్పు దిక్కున రెండువేల మూరలను, దక్షిణ దిక్కున రెండువేల మూరలను, పడమటి దిక్కున రెండు వేల మూరలను, ఉత్తర దిక్కున రెండువేల మూరలను కొలవవలెను. ఆ నడుమ పురముండవలెను. అది వారి పురములకు పల్లెలుగా నుండును.

5. So ye shall measure on the outside of the city the eastward quarter two thousand by the cubit, and the south quarter two thousand by the cubit, and the west quarter two thousand by the cubit and the north quarter two thousand by the cubit, with, the city, in the midst. This, shall be unto them the pasture lands of the cities,

6. మరియు మీరు లేవీయులకిచ్చు పురములలో ఆరు ఆశ్రయపురములుండవలెను. నరహంతుకుడు వాటిలోనికి పారిపోవునట్లుగా వాటిని నియమింపవలెను. అవియుగాక నలువదిరెండు పురములను ఇయ్యవలెను.

6. And, among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall give that the manslayer may flee thither, and besides them, ye shall give, forty-two cities,

7. వాటి వాటి పల్లెలతోకూడ మీరు లేవీయులకు ఇయ్యవలసిన పురములన్నియు నలువది యెనిమిది.

7. All the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be forty-eight cities, them, and their pasture lands,

8. మీరు ఇచ్చు పురములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల స్వాస్థ్యములో నుండియే ఇయ్యవలెను. మీరు ఎక్కువైనదానిలో ఎక్కువగాను, తక్కువైనదానిలో తక్కువగాను ఇయ్యవలెను. ప్రతి గోత్రము తాను పొందు స్వాస్థ్యము చొప్పున, తన తన పురములలో కొన్నిటిని లేవీయులకు ఇయ్య వలెను.

8. And as touching the cities which ye shall give out of the possession of the sons of Israel from the many, shall ye take many, and from the few, shall ye take few, each, according to his inheritance, which they shall inherit, shall We of his cities unto the Levites.

9. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లనుము

9. Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

10. మీరు యొర్దాను దాటి కనానుదేశములోనికి వెళ్లిన తరువాత

10. Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, When ye are passing over the Jordan unto the land of Canaan,

11. ఆశ్రయ పురములుగా ఉండుటకు మీరు పురములను ఏర్పరచుకొన వలెను.

11. then shall ye find for you, convenient cities, cities of refuge, shall they be unto you, and the manslayer, who hath slain a person, by mistake, shall flee thither.

12. పొరబాటున ఒకని చంపినవాడు వాటిలోనికి పారిపోవచ్చును. తీర్పు పొందుటకై నరహంతకుడు సమాజమునెదుట నిలుచువరకు వాడు మరణశిక్ష నొందకూడదు గనుక ప్రతిహత్య చేయువాడు రాకుండ అవి మీకు ఆశ్రయపురములుగా ఉండును.

12. So shall the cities serve you for places of refuge from the redeemer, that the manslayer may not die, until he has stood before the assembly, for judgment,

13. మీరు ఇయ్య వలసిన ఆ పురములలో ఆరు ఆశ్రయ పురములుండవలెను.

13. And as touching the cities which ye shall give six cities of refuge, shall there be unto you.

14. వాటిలో యొర్దాను ఇవతల మూడు పురములను ఇయ్య వలెను, కనాను దేశములో మూడు పురములను ఇయ్య వలెను. అవి మీకు ఆశ్రయ పురములుగా ఉండును.

14. Three of the cities, shall ye give, on this side the Jordan, and three of the cities, shall ye give in the land of Canaan, cities of refuge, shall they be.

15. పొరబాటున ఒకని చంపిన యెవడైనను వాటిలోనికి పారి పోవునట్లు ఆ ఆరు పురములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును పర దేశులకును మీ మధ్య నివసించువారికిని ఆశ్రయమై యుండును.

15. For the sons of Israel and for the sojourner. and for the settler in your midst, shall these six cities serve, as places of refuge, that any one may flee thither who hath slain a person, by mistake.

16. ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు వానిని ఇనుప ఆయుధ ముతో కొట్టువాడు నరహంతకుడు ఆ నరహంతకునికి నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష విధింపవలెను.

16. If, then, with an instrument of iron, he smote him, and he died, a manslayer, he is, a manslayer, shall surely die.

17. ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు మరియొకడు రాతితో వాని కొట్టగా దెబ్బతినిన వాడు చనిపోయినయెడల కొట్టినవాడు నరహంతకుడగును. ఆ నరహంతకుడు నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష నొందును.

17. Or if with a stone thrown by hand, where-by one might die, he smote him and he died, a manslayer, he is, the man-slayer, shall surely die,

18. మరియు ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు మరియొకడు చేతికఱ్ఱతో కొట్టగా దెబ్బ తినినవాడు చనిపోయిన యెడల కొట్టిన వాడు నర హంతకుడగును. ఆ నరహంత కుడు నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష నొందును.

18. Or, if with hand-weapon of wood, wherewith one might die, he smote him and he died a manslayer, he is, the manslayer shall surely die.

19. హత్య విషయములో ప్రతిహత్య చేయువాడు తానే నరహంతకుని చంపవలెను.

19. The blood-redeemer, he, shall put to death the man-slayer, when he lighteth upon him, he, shall put him to death.

20. వాని కనుగొనినప్పుడు వాని చంపవలెను. ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు వాని పగపట్టి పొడిచినను, లేక పొంచియుండి వానిమీద దేనినైనను వేసినను, లేక ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు వైరమువలన చేతితో వాని కొట్టినను, కొట్టినవాడు నరహంతకుడు, నిశ్చయముగా వాని చంప వలెను.

20. Or if with hate, he shall thrust at him, or hurl at him designedly, and he have died,

21. నరహత్య విషయములో ప్రతిహత్య చేయువాడు ఆ నరహంతకుని కనుగొనినప్పుడు వాని చంపవలెను.

21. or if with enmity, he hath smitten him with his band and he is dead, then shall he that dealt the blow, be surely put to death. a manslayer, he is the blood-redeemer shall put to death the man-slayer, when he lighteth upon him.

22. అయితే పగపట్టక హఠాత్తుగా వానిని పొడిచి నను, పొంచియుండక వానిమీద ఏ ఆయుధమునైన వేసినను, వాని చూడక ఒకడు చచ్చునట్లు వానిమీద రాయి పడవేసినను,

22. But if suddenly, without enmity, he shall thrust him, or hurl upon him any missile, without design;

23. దెబ్బతినినవాడు చనిపోయిన యెడల కొట్టిన వాడు వానిమీద పగపట్టలేదు, వానికి హానిచేయ గోరలేదు.

23. Or with any stone whereby one might die without seeing him, and it fall upon him, and he dieth; he, not being at enmity with him, nor seeking to harm him,

24. కాబట్టి సమాజము ఈ విధులనుబట్టి కొట్టిన వానికిని హత్యవిషయములో ప్రతిహత్య చేయువానికిని తీర్పుతీర్చవలెను.

24. then shall the assembly judge, between him that smote and the blood-redeemer, according to these regulations;

25. అట్లు సమాజము నరహత్య విషయములో ప్రతిహత్య చేయువాని చేతిలోనుండి ఆ నరహంతకుని విడిపింపవలెను. అప్పుడు సమాజము వాడు పారిపోయిన ఆశ్రయ పురమునకు వాని మరల పంపవలెను. వాడు పరిశుద్ధ తైలముతో అభిషేకింపబడిన ప్రధాన యాజకుడు మృతినొందువరకు అక్కడనే నివసింపవలెను.

25. and the assembly shall rescue the manslayer out of the hand of the blood-redeemer, and the assembly shall restore him unto his city of refuge whither he had fled, and he shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who hath been anointed with the hallowing oil.

26. అయితే ఆ నరహంతకుడు ఎప్పుడైనను తాను పారిపోయి చొచ్చిన ఆశ్రయపురముయొక్క సరిహద్దును దాటి వెళ్లునప్పుడు

26. But if the man-slayer, go out, of the bounds of his city of refuge, whereinto he hath fled;

27. నరహత్య విషయములో ప్రతిహత్య చేయువాడు ఆశ్రయపురముయొక్క సరిహద్దు వెలుపల వాని కను గొనినయెడల, ఆ ప్రతిహంతకుడు ఆ నరహంతకుని చంపినను వానిమీద ప్రాణముతీసిన దోషము ఉండదు.

27. and the blood-redeemer, find him, outside the bounds of his city of refuge, then may the blood-redeemer slay the slayer, without being guilty of blood;

28. ఏలయనగా ప్రధానయాజకుడు మృతినొందువరకు అతడు ఆశ్రయపురములోనే నివసింపవలెను. ప్రధానయాజకుడు మృతినొందిన తరువాత ఆ నరహంతకుడు తన స్వాస్థ్యమున్న దేశము నకు తిరిగి వెళ్లవచ్చును.

28. for in his city of refuge, should he have remained, until the death of the high priest, and, after the death of the high priest, might he have returned into the land which he doth possess.

29. ఇవి మీ సమస్త నివాసస్థలము లలో మీ తరతరములకు మీకు విధింపబడిన కట్టడ.

29. So shall these serve you as a regulative statute unto your generations, wheresoever ye may dwell.

30. ఎవడైనను ఒకని చావగొట్టిన యెడల సాక్షుల నోటిమాట వలన ఆ నరహంతకునికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపవలెను. ఒక సాక్షిమాటమీదనే యెవనికిని మరణశిక్ష విధింప కూడదు.

30. Whosoever taketh away life, at the mouth of witnesses, shall, the slayer be slain, but, one witness, shall not testify against a person, to put him to death.

31. చావతగిన నరహంతకుని ప్రాణముకొరకు మీరు విమోచన ధనమును అంగీకరింపక నిశ్చయముగా వానికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపవలెను.

31. And ye shall accept no ransom for the life of him that slayeth, if he have unlawfully caused death, but he, must surely be put to death.

32. మరియు ఆశ్రయపురమునకు పారిపోయినవాడు యాజకుడు మృతినొందక మునుపు స్వదేశమందు నివసించునట్లు వానిచేత విమోచన ధనమును అంగీకరింపకూడదు.

32. And ye shall accept no ransom for him that hath fled to his city of refuge, if he should return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.

33. మీరుండు దేశమును అపవిత్రపరచకూడదు; నరహత్య దేశమును అపవిత్రపర చును గదా. దేశములో చిందిన రక్తము నిమిత్తము చిందించిన వాని రక్తమువలననే ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము కలుగును గాని మరి దేనివలనను కలుగదు.

33. So shall ye not pollute the land wherein ye are, for blood, doth pollute the land, and for the land, no propitiatory-covering can be made, as touching blood, that is shed therein, save with the blood of him that shed it;

34. మీరు నివసించు దేశమును అపవిత్ర పరచకూడదు. అందులో నేను మీ మధ్యను నివసించుచున్నాను. నిజముగా యెహోవా అను నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమధ్య నివసించుచున్నాను.

34. thou must not then make unclean the land wherein, ye, are dwelling, in the midst of which, I, have my habitation; for, I, Yahweh, am making my habitation in the midst of the sons of Israel.
