1. రెండు దినములైన పిమ్మట పస్కాపండుగ, అనగా పులియని రొట్టెలపండుగ వచ్చెను. అప్పుడు ప్రధాన యాజకులును శాస్త్రులును మాయోపాయముచేత ఆయన నేలాగు పట్టుకొని చంపుదుమా యని ఆలోచించుకొను చుండిరి గాని

1. Now it was the Passover and the Unleavened cakes , after two days. And the High-priests and Scribes were seeking, how, with guile, they might secure, and lay him;

2. ప్రజలలో అల్లరి కలుగు నేమో అని పండుగలో వద్దని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

2. for they were saying Not in the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.

3. ఆయన బేతనియలో కుష్ఠరోగియైన సీమోను ఇంట భోజనమునకు కూర్చుండియున్నప్పుడు ఒక స్త్రీ మిక్కిలి విలువగల అచ్చ జటామాంసి అత్తరుబుడ్డి తీసికొని వచ్చి, ఆ అత్తరుబుడ్డి పగులగొట్టి ఆ అత్తరు ఆయన తలమీద పోసెను.

3. And, he being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining, there came a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of perfume, pure spikenard, very costly; and breaking the jar she was pouring down the perfume , upon his head.

4. అయితే కొందరు కోపపడి ఈ అత్తరు ఈలాగు నష్టపరచనేల?

4. But there were some much displeased among themselves To what end hath, this waste of the perfume happened?

5. ఈ అత్తరు మున్నూరు దేనారముల కంటె ఎక్కువ వెలకమ్మి, బీదలకియ్యవచ్చునని చెప్పి ఆమెనుగూర్చి సణుగుకొనిరి.

5. For this perfume could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute! and they were indignant with her.

6. అందుకు యేసు ఇట్లనెను ఈమె జోలికిపోకుడి; ఈమెను ఎందుకు తొందరపెట్టుచున్నారు? ఈమె నాయెడల మంచి కార్యము చేసెను.

6. But, Jesus, said Let her alone! Why are ye reproaching, her? A seemly work, hath she wrought, in me;

7. బీదలు ఎల్లప్పుడును మీతోనే యున్నారు, మీకిష్టమైనప్పుడెల్ల వారికి మేలు చేయ వచ్చును; నేను ఎల్లప్పుడును మీతో నుండను.

7. For, always, have ye, the destitute, with you, and whensoever ye please, ye can, unto them, at any time do well! But, me, not, always, have ye.

8. ఈమె తన శక్తికొలదిచేసి, నా భూస్థాపన నిమిత్తము నా శరీరమును ముందుగా అభిషేకించెను.

8. What she had, she used, She took it beforehand to anoint my body for the burial;

9. సర్వలోకములో ఎక్కడ ఈ సువార్త ప్రకటింపబడునో అక్కడ ఈమె చేసినదియు జ్ఞాపకార్థముగా ప్రశంసింపబడునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

9. And, verily, say unto you Wheresoever the glad-message shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world, also what she did, will be told for a memorial of her.

10. పండ్రెండుమందిలో నొకడగు ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా, ప్రధానయాజకుల చేతికి ఆయనను అప్పగింప వలెనని వారియొద్దకు పోగా

10. And ,Judas Iscariot, who was one of he twelve, went away unto the High-priests, that, him, he might deliver up unto them.

11. వారు విని, సంతోషించి వానికి ద్రవ్యమిత్తుమని వాగ్దానము చేసిరి గనుక వాడు ఆయనను అప్పగించుటకు తగిన సమయము కనిపెట్టు చుండెను.

11. Now, when they heard, they rejoiced, and promised to give him, silver; and he was seeking how, at a favourable opportunity, he might, deliver him up.

12. పులియని రొట్టెల పండుగలో మొదటి దినమున వారు పస్కాపశువును వధించునప్పుడు, ఆయన శిష్యులునీవు పస్కాను భుజించుటకు మేమెక్కడికి వెళ్లి సిద్ధపరచవలెనని కోరుచున్నావని ఆయన నడుగగా,

12. And, on the first day of the unleavened cakes, when, the passover, they were slaying, his disciples say unto him Where wilt thou, we depart and make ready, that thou mayest eat the passover?

13. ఆయన మీరు పట్టణములోనికి వెళ్లుడి; అక్కడ నీళ్లకుండ మోయుచున్న యొక మనుష్యుడు మీకెదురుపడును;

13. And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them Go your way into the city, and there will meet you a man, a jar of water, bearing, follow him;

14. వాని వెంటబోయి వాడు ఎక్కడ ప్రవేశించునో ఆ యింటి యజమానుని చూచి నేను నా శిష్యులతో కూడ పస్కాను భుజించుటకు నా విడిది గది యెక్కడనని బోధకుడడుగు చున్నాడని చెప్పుడి.

14. and, wheresoever he shall enter, say ye unto the householder The teacher, saith, Where is my lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?

15. అతడు సామగ్రితో సిద్ధపరచబడిన గొప్ప మేడగది మీకు చూపించును; అక్కడ మనకొరకు సిద్ధపరచు డని చెప్పి తన శిష్యులలో ఇద్దరిని పంపెను.

15. And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper-room, spread ready, and, there, make ye ready for us.

16. శిష్యులు వెళ్లి పట్టణములోనికి వచ్చి ఆయన వారితో చెప్పినట్టు కనుగొని పస్కాను సిద్ధపరచిరి.

16. And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found, according as he had said unto them, and they made ready the passover.

17. సాయంకాలమైనప్పుడు ఆయన తన పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులతో కూడ వచ్చెను.

17. And, when evening arrived, he cometh, with the twelve.

18. వారు కూర్చుండి భోజనము చేయుచుండగా యేసుమీలో ఒకడు, అనగా నాతో భుజించుచున్నవాడు నన్ను అప్పగించునని నిశ్చయముగా మీతో చెప్పుచున్నానని వారితో చెప్పగా

18. And, as they were reclining and eating, Jesus said Verily, I say unto you One from among you, will deliver me up, he that is eating with me.

19. వారు దుఃఖపడినేనా అని యొకని తరువాత ఒకడు ఆయన నడుగసాగిరి.

19. They began to be grieved, and to be saying unto him, one by one, Can it be, I?

20. అందుకాయన పండ్రెండు మందిలో ఒకడే, అనగా నాతోకూడ పాత్రలో (చెయ్యి) ముంచు వాడే.

20. And, he, said unto them One of the twelve, he that is dipping with me into the one bowl:

21. నిజముగా మనుష్యకుమారుడు ఆయననుగూర్చి వ్రాయబడినట్టు పోవుచున్నాడు; అయితే ఎవనిచేత మనుష్యకుమారుడు అప్పగింపబడుచున్నాడో, ఆ మను ష్యునికి శ్రమ; ఆ మనుష్యుడు పుట్టియుండనియెడల వానికి మేలనెను.

21. Because, the Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, according as it is written concerning him; but alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man is being delivered up, Well for him, if that man, had not been born!

22. వారు భోజనము చేయుచుండగా, ఆయన యొక రొట్టెను పట్టుకొని, ఆశీర్వదించి విరిచి, వారికిచ్చిమీరు తీసికొనుడి; ఇది నా శరీరమనెను.

22. And, as they were eating, taking a loaf, he blessed and brake, and gave unto them, and said Take! this, is, my body;

23. పిమ్మట ఆయన గిన్నెపట్టుకొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించి దాని వారికిచ్చెను; వారందరు దానిలోనిది త్రాగిరి.

23. And, taking a cup, he offered thanks, and gave unto them; and they, all, drank of it.

24. అప్పుడాయన ఇది నిబంధనవిషయమై అనేకుల కొరకు చిందింపబడు చున్న నా రక్తము.

24. And he said unto them This, is, my blood of the covenant, that is to be poured out in behalf of many.

25. నేను దేవుని రాజ్యములో ద్రాక్షారసము క్రొత్తదిగా త్రాగుదినమువరకు ఇకను దానిని త్రాగనని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

25. Verily, I say unto you No more, will I in anywise drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall be drinking it new, in the kingdom of God.

26. అంతట వారు కీర్తన పాడి ఒలీవలకొండకు వెళ్లిరి.

26. And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.

27. అప్పుడు యేసు వారిని చూచిమీరందరు అభ్యంతర పడెదరు; గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరిని కొట్టుదును; గొఱ్ఱెలు చెదరిపోవును అని వ్రాయబడియున్నది గదా.

27. And Jesus saith unto them Ye, all, will find cause of stumbling, because it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep, will be scattered abroad;

28. అయితే నేను లేచిన తరువాత మీకంటె ముందుగా గలిలయలోనికి వెళ్లెదననెను.

28. But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.

29. అందుకు పేతురు అందరు అభ్యంతరపడినను నేను అభ్యంతరపడనని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా

29. And, Peter, said unto him Even if, all, shall find cause of stumbling, certainly not, I.

30. యేసు అతని చూచినేటి రాత్రి కోడి రెండుమారులు కూయకమునుపే నీవు నన్ను ఎరుగనని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నా ననెను.

30. And Jesus saith unto him Verily, I say unto thee, thou, this day, in this night, before that twice a cock crow, thrice, will deny me.

31. అతడు మరి ఖండితముగానేను నీతో కూడ చావవలసి వచ్చినను నిన్ను ఎరుగనని చెప్పనే చెప్పననెను. అట్లు వారందరుననిరి.

31. But he, most vehemently, was saying Even though I must needs die with thee, in nowise, will I, deny thee. Likewise, indeed, were, all besides, saying.

32. వారు గెత్సేమనే అనబడిన చోటునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, ఆయన - నేను ప్రార్థనచేసి వచ్చువరకు మీరిక్కడ కూర్చుండుడని తన శిష్యులతో చెప్పి

32. And they come into an estate the name of which is Gethsemane, and he saith unto his disciples Sit ye here, while I pray.

33. పేతురును యాకోబును యోహానును వెంటబెట్టు కొనిపోయి, మిగుల విభ్రాంతి నొందుటకును చింతా క్రాంతుడగుటకును ఆరం భించెను

33. And he taketh Peter and James and John with him, and began to be exceedingly amazed, and in great distress;

34. అప్పుడాయననా ప్రాణము మరణమగు నంతగా దుఃఖములో మునిగియున్నది; మీరిక్కడ ఉండి మెలకువగా నుండుడని వారితో చెప్పి

34. and he saith unto them Encompassed with grief is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching.

35. కొంతదూరము సాగిపోయి నేలమీద పడి, సాధ్యమైతే ఆ గడియ తనయొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోవలెనని ప్రార్థించుచు

35. And, going forward a little, he fell upon the ground, and was praying that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him;

36. నాయనా తండ్రీ, నీకు సమస్తము సాధ్యము; ఈ గిన్నె నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగించుము; అయినను నా యిష్ట ప్రకారము కాదు నీ చిత్తప్రకారమే కానిమ్ము అనెను.

36. and was saying Abba! O Father! All things, are possible to thee: Bear aside this cup from me; but not what, I, will, but what, thou, wilt .

37. మరల ఆయన వచ్చి వారు నిద్రించుచుండుట చూచి సీమోనూ, నీవు నిద్రించుచున్నావా? ఒక్క గడియయైనను మేలుకొనియుండలేవా?

37. And he cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter Simon! art thou sleeping? Hadst thou not strength, one hour, to watch?

38. మీరు శోధనలో ప్రవేశించకుండునట్లు మెలకువగా నుండి ప్రార్థన చేయుడి; ఆత్మ సిద్ధమే గాని శరీరము బలహీనమని పేతురుతో చెప్పి

38. Be watching and praying, that ye enter not into temptation: the, spirit, indeed, is willing, but, the flesh, weak.

39. తిరిగి పోయి, యింతకుముందు పలికిన మాటలనే పలుకుచు ప్రార్థించెను.

39. And, again, departing, he prayed, the same thing, saying .

40. ఆయన తిరిగివచ్చి చూడగా, వారు నిద్రించుచుండిరి; ఏలయనగా వారి కన్నులు భారముగా ఉండెను, ఆయనకేమి ఉత్తరమియ్యవలెనో వారికి తోచ లేదు.

40. And, again, coming, he found them sleeping, for their eyes were being, weighed down, and they knew not what to answer him.

41. ఆయన మూడవ సారి వచ్చిమీరిక నిద్రపోయి అలసట తీర్చుకొనుడి. ఇక చాలును, గడియ వచ్చినది; ఇదిగో మనుష్యకుమారుడు పాపులచేతికి అప్పగింపబడు చున్నాడు;

41. And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them Ye are sleeping the remaining time and taking your rest: It is enough! the hour hath come! Lo! the Son of Man is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.

42. లెండి వెళ్లుదము; ఇదిగో నన్ను అప్పగించు వాడు సమీపించియున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

42. Be rousing yourselves, let us be leading on! Lo! he that is delivering me up, hath drawn near.

43. వెంటనే, ఆయన ఇంకను మాటలాడుచుండగా పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులలో ఒకడైన ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా వచ్చెను. వానితోకూడ బహుజనులు కత్తులు గుదియలు పట్టుకొని, ప్రధానయాజకులయొద్దనుండియు శాస్త్రులయొద్దనుండియు పెద్దలయొద్దనుండియు వచ్చిరి.

43. And, straightway, while yet he is speaking, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, cometh near, and, with him, a multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and the Scribes and the Elders.

44. ఆయనను అప్పగించువాడు నేనెవరిని ముద్దుపెట్టు కొందునో ఆయనే (యేసు); ఆయనను పట్టుకొని భద్రముగా కొనిపోవుడని వారికి గురుతు చెప్పియుండెను.

44. He that is delivering him up hath given an agreed sign unto them, saying Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is! Secure him, and be leading away, safely.

45. వాడు వచ్చి వెంటనే ఆయన యొద్దకు పోయి బోధకుడా అని చెప్పి, ఆయనను ముద్దుపెట్టుకొనగా

45. And, coming, straightway, stepping forward to him, he saith Rabbi! and openly kissed him.

46. వారు ఆయనమీద పడి ఆయనను పట్టుకొనిరి.

46. And, they, thrust their hands on him, and secured him.

47. దగ్గర నిలిచి యున్నవారిలో ఒకడు కత్తిదూసి ప్రధానయాజకుని దాసుని కొట్టి వాని చెవి తెగనరికెను.

47. A certain one of the by-standers, drawing a sword, smote the servant of the High priest, and took off his, ear.

48. అందుకు యేసు మీరు బందిపోటు దొంగమీదికి వచ్చినట్టు కత్తులతోను గుదియలతోను నన్ను పట్టుకొన వచ్చితిరా?

48. And Jesus, answering, said unto them As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me?

49. నేను ప్రతిదినము దేవాలయములో మీయొద్ద ఉండి బోధించు చుండగా, మీరు నన్ను పట్టుకొనలేదు, అయితే లేఖనములు నెరవేరునట్లు (ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని చెప్పెను).

49. Daily, was I with you, in the temple, teaching; and ye secured me not. But, that, the Scriptures, may be fulfilled

50. అప్పుడు వారందరు ఆయనను విడిచి పారిపోయిరి.
జెకర్యా 13:7

50. And they, all, forsook, him, and fled.

51. తన దిగంబర శరీరముమీద నారబట్ట వేసికొనియున్న యొక పడుచువాడు ఆయన వెంట వెళ్లుచుండగా, వారతనిని పట్టుకొనిరి.

51. And, a certain young man, was following with him, having cast about himself a fine Indian cloth, over his naked body, and they are securing him;

52. అతడు నారబట్ట విడిచి, దిగంబరుడై పారిపోయెను.

52. but, he, leaving behind the cloth, fled naked.

53. వారు యేసును ప్రధాన యాజకుని యొద్దకు తీసికొని పోయిరి. ప్రధానయాజకులు పెద్దలు శాస్త్రులు అందరును అతనితోకూడవచ్చిరి.

53. And they led away Jesus unto the High-priest; and all the High-priests and the Elders and the Scribes gather together.

54. పేతురు ప్రధానయాజకుని యింటిముంగిటివరకు దూరమునుండి ఆయన వెంటపోయి బంట్రౌతులతోకూడ కూర్చుండి, మంటయొద్ద చలి కాచు కొనుచుండెను.

54. And, Peter, afar of, followed him, as far as within, into the court of the High-priest; and was sitting with the attendants, and warming himself by the light.

55. ప్రధానయాజకులును మహాసభవారందరును యేసును చంపింపవలెనని ఆయనమీద సాక్ష్యము వెదకిరిగాని, యేమియు వారికి దొరకలేదు.

55. Now, the High-priest, and all the High-council, were seeking, against Jesus, testimony, with the intent to put him to death, and were not finding any;

56. అనేకులు ఆయనమీద అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము పలికినను వారి సాక్ష్యములు ఒకదానికి ఒకటి సరిపడలేదు.

56. for, many, were bearing false-witness against him, and the testimonies were not, agreed.

57. అప్పుడు కొందరు లేచి చేతిపనియైన ఈ దేవాలయమును పడగొట్టి, మూడు దిన ములలో చేతిపనికాని మరియొక దేవాలయమును నేను కట్టుదునని వీడు చెప్పుచుండగా వింటిమని

57. And some, standing up, were bearing false-witness against him, saying

58. ఆయనమీద అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము చెప్పిరి

58. We, heard him saying, I, will pull down this shrine, the one made by hand, and, in three days, another, not made by hand, will I raise.

59. గాని ఆలాగైనను వీరి సాక్ష్యమును సరిపడలేదు.

59. And, not even so, was the testimony, agreed.

60. ప్రధానయాజకుడు వారి మధ్యను లేచి నిలిచి ఉత్తరమేమియు చెప్పవా? వీరు నీ మీద పలుకు చున్న సాక్ష్యమేమని యేసు నడిగెను.
యెషయా 53:7

60. And, the High-priest rising up into the midst, questioned Jesus, saying Answerest thou, nothing? What are these, against thee, witnessing?

61. అయితే ఆయన ఉత్తరమేమియు చెప్పక ఊరకుండెను. తిరిగి ప్రధాన యాజకుడుపరమాత్ముని కుమారుడవైన క్రీస్తువు నీవేనా? అని ఆయన నడుగగా

61. But, he, was silent, and answered, nothing. Again, the High-priest was questioning him, and saith unto him Art, thou, the Christ the Son of the Blessed?

62. యేసుఅవును నేనే; మీరు మనుష్యకుమారుడు సర్వశక్తిమంతుని కుడిపార్శ్వమున కూర్చుండుటయు, ఆకాశమేఘారూఢుడై వచ్చుటయు చూచెదరని చెప్పెను.

62. And Jesus said I, am; and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting, on the right hand, of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

63. And, the High-priest, having rent asunder his inner-garments, saith What, further, need have we, of witnesses?

64. ఈ దేవదూషణ మీరు విన్నారు కారా; మీకేమి తోచుచున్నదని అడుగగా వారందరుమరణమునకు పాత్రుడని ఆయనమీద నేరస్థాపనచేసిరి.

64. Heard ye the profanity? What, to you, doth it appear? And they, all, condemned him to be, worthy, of, death.

65. కొందరు ఆయనమీద ఉమ్మివేసి ఆయన ముఖమునకు ముసుకువేసి, ఆయనను గుద్దుచుప్రవచింపుమని ఆయనతో చెప్పసాగిరి. బంట్రౌతులును ఆయనను అరచేతులతో కొట్టి పట్టుకొనిరి.

65. And some began to be spitting at him, and, covering up his face, and to be buffeting him, and saying to him Prophesy! And, the attendants, with smart blows, took him.

66. పేతురు ముంగిటి క్రిందిభాగములో ఉండగా ప్రధాన యాజకుని పనికత్తెలలో ఒకతె వచ్చి

66. And, Peter, being, below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the High-priest;

67. పేతురు చలి కాచుకొనుచుండుట చూచెను; అతనిని నిదానించి చూచి నీవును నజరేయుడగు ఆ యేసుతో కూడ ఉండినవాడవు కావా? అనెను.

67. and, seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, saith And, thou, wast, with the Nazarene with Jesus.

68. అందుకతడు ఆయన ఎవడో నేనెరు గను; నీవు చెప్పినది నాకు బోధపడలేదని చెప్పి నడవ లోనికి వెళ్లెను; అంతట కోడి కూసెను.

68. But, he, denied, saying I neither know him , nor do I well understand what, thou, sayest; and went out into the porch.

69. ఆ పనికత్తె అతనిని చూచివీడు వారిలో ఒకడని దగ్గర నిలిచియున్న వారితో మరల చెప్పసాగెను.

69. And, the maid-servant, seeing him, began, again, to be saying unto the by-standers This one, is, from among them.

70. అతడు మరలనేను కాననెను. కొంతసేపైన తరువాత దగ్గర నిలిచియున్నవారు మరల పేతురును చూచినిజముగా నీవు వారిలో ఒకడవు; నీవు గలిలయుడవు గదా అనిరి.

70. But, he, again, was denying. And, after a little again, the by-standers, were saying unto Peter Truly, thou, art, from among them; for thou art, a Galilaean, also.

71. అందుకతడు మీరు చెప్పుచున్న మనుష్యుని నేనెరుగనని చెప్పి, శపించుకొనుటకును ఒట్టు బెట్టుకొనుటకును మొదలు పెట్టెను.

71. And, he, began to be cursing and swearing I know not this man, of whom ye are speaking!

72. వెంటనే రెండవమారు కోడికూసెను గనుకకోడి రెండు మారులు కూయకమునుపు నీవు నన్ను ఎరుగనని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని యేసు తనతో చెప్పిన మాట పేతురు జ్ఞాపకమునకు తెచ్చుకొని తలపోయుచు ఏడ్చెను.

72. And, straightway, a second time, a cock, crowed; and Peter was reminded of the declaration, how Jesus had said to him Before a cock, twice, crow, thrice, wilt thou deny me. And, when he thought thereon, he began to weep.
