1. ఆయన సంచరించుచు యెరికో పట్టణములో ప్రవే శించి

1. Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.

2. దానిగుండా పోవుచుండెను. ఇదిగో సుంకపు గుత్తదారుడును ధనవంతుడునైన జక్కయ్య అను పేరుగల ఒకడు

2. Aman was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

3. యేసు ఎవరోయని చూడగోరెనుగాని, పొట్టి వాడైనందున జనులు గుంపుకూడి యుండుట వలన చూడ లేకపోయెను.

3. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.

4. అప్పుడు యేసు ఆ త్రోవను రానై యుండెను గనుక అతడు ముందుగా పరుగెత్తి, ఆయనను చూచుటకు ఒక మేడి చెట్టెక్కెను.

4. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamorefig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5. యేసు ఆ చోటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు, కన్నులెత్తి చూచి జక్కయ్యా త్వరగా దిగుము, నేడు నేను నీ యింట నుండవలసియున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పగా

5. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."

6. అతడు త్వరగా దిగి సంతోషముతో ఆయనను చేర్చుకొనెను.

6. So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7. అందరు అది చూచి ఈయన పాపియైన మనుష్యునియొద్ద బసచేయ వెళ్లెనని చాల సణుగుకొనిరి.

7. All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a sinner."

8. జక్కయ్య నిలువబడి ఇదిగో ప్రభువా, నా ఆస్తిలో సగము బీదలకిచ్చుచున్నాను; నేనెవనియొద్ద నైనను అన్యాయముగా దేనినైనను తీసికొనినయెడల అతనికి నాలుగంతలు మరల చెల్లింతునని ప్రభువుతో చెప్పెను.

8. But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

9. అందుకు యేసు ఇతడును అబ్రాహాము కుమారుడే; ఎందుకనగా నేడు ఈ యింటికి రక్షణ వచ్చియున్నది.

9. Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

10. నశించినదానిని వెదకి రక్షించుటకు మనుష్యకుమారుడు వచ్చెనని అతనితో చెప్పెను.
యెహెఙ్కేలు 34:16

10. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

11. వారు ఈ మాటలు వినుచుండగా తాను యెరూషలేమునకు సమీపమున ఉండుటవలనను, దేవుని రాజ్యము వెంటనే అగుపడునని వారు తలంచుటవలనను, ఆయన మరియొక ఉపమానము చెప్పెను. ఏమనగా,

11. While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.

12. రాజ కుమారుడొక రాజ్యము సంపాదించుకొని మరల రావలె నని దూరదేశమునకు ప్రయాణమై

12. He said: "A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.

13. తన దాసులను పది మందిని పిలిచి వారికి పది మినాల నిచ్చి నేను వచ్చు వరకు వ్యాపారము చేయుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

13. So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. 'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.'

14. అయితే అతని పట్టణస్థులతని ద్వేషించిఇతడు మమ్ము నేలుట మా కిష్టము లేదని అతని వెనుక రాయబారము పంపిరి.

14. "But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

15. అతడా రాజ్యము సంపాదించుకొని తిరిగి వచ్చినప్పుడు, ప్రతివాడును వ్యాపారమువలన ఏమేమి సంపాదించెనో తెలిసికొనుటకై తాను సొమ్మిచ్చిన దాసులను తనయొద్దకు పిలువుమని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను.

15. "He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

16. మొదటివాడాయన యెదుటికి వచ్చి అయ్యా, నీ మినావలన పది మినాలు లభించెనని చెప్పగా

16. "The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.'

17. అతడు భళా, మంచి దాసుడా, నీవు ఈ కొంచెములో నమ్మకముగా ఉంటివి గనుక పది పట్టణముల మీద అధికారివై యుండుమని వానితో చెప్పెను.

17. " 'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

18. అంతట రెండవవాడు వచ్చి అయ్యా, నీ మినావలన అయిదు మినాలు లభించెననగా

18. "The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.'

19. అతడు నీవును అయిదు పట్టణములమీద ఉండుమని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

19. "His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.'

20. అంతట మరియొకడు వచ్చి అయ్యా, యిదిగో నీ మినా;

20. "Then another servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.

21. నీవు పెట్టనిదానిని ఎత్తికొనువాడవును, విత్తనిదానిని కోయు వాడవునైన కఠినుడవు గనుక, నీకు భయపడి దీనిని రుమా లున కట్టి ఉంచితినని చెప్పెను.

21. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.'

22. అందుకతడు చడ్డ దాసుడా, నీ నోటి మాటనుబట్టియే నీకు తీర్పు తీర్చుదును; నేను పెట్టనిదానిని ఎత్తు వాడను, విత్తనిదానిని కోయువాడనునైన కఠినుడనని నీకు తెలిసియుండగా

22. "His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?

23. నీవెందుకు నా సొమ్ము సాహుకారులయొద్ద నుంచలేదు? అట్లు చేసి యుండినయెడల నేను వచ్చి వడ్డితో దానిని తీసికొందునే అని వానితో చెప్పి

23. Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?'

24. వీనియొద్దనుండి ఆ మినా తీసివేసి పది మినాలు గలవాని కియ్యుడని దగ్గర నిలిచినవారితో చెప్పెను.

24. "Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.'

25. వారు అయ్యా, వానికి పది మినాలు కలవే అనిరి.

25. " 'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!'

26. అందుకతడుకలిగిన ప్రతివానికిని ఇయ్య బడును, లేనివానియొద్దనుండి వానికి కలిగినదియు తీసివేయబడునని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను.

26. "He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.

27. మరియు నేను తమ్మును ఏలు టకు ఇష్టములేని నా శత్రువులను ఇక్కడికి తీసికొనివచ్చి నాయెదుట సంహరించుడని చెప్పెను.

27. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them�bring them here and kill them in front of me.' "

28. యేసు ఈ మాటలు చెప్పి యెరూషలేమునకు వెళ్ల వలెనని ముందు సాగిపోయెను.

28. After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

29. ఆయన ఒలీవల కొండదగ్గరనున్న బేత్పగే బేతనియ అను గ్రామముల సమీపమునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, తన శిష్యుల నిద్దరిని పిలిచి

29. As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,

30. మీరు ఎదుటనున్న గ్రామమునకు వెళ్లుడి; అందులో మీరు ప్రవేశింపగానే కట్టబడియున్న ఒక గాడిద పిల్ల మీకు కనబడును; దానిమీద ఏ మనుష్యుడును ఎన్నడు కూర్చుండలేదు

30. "Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

31. ఎవరైననుమీరెందుకు దీని విప్పు చున్నారని మిమ్ము నడిగినయెడల ఇది ప్రభువునకు కావలసియున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పుడని చెప్పి వారిని పంపెను.

31. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' say, 'The Lord needs it.' "

32. పంపబడిన వారు వెళ్లి, ఆయన తమతో చెప్పినట్టే కనుగొని

32. Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.

33. ఆ గాడిదపిల్లను విప్పుచుండగా దాని యజమానులుమీరు, గాడిద పిల్లను ఎందుకు విప్పుచున్నారని వారి నడిగిరి.

33. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying the colt?"

34. అందుకు వారు ఇది ప్రభువునకు కావలసియున్నదనిరి.

34. They replied, "The Lord needs it."

35. తరువాత వారు యేసునొద్దకు దానిని తోలుకొని వచ్చి, ఆ గాడిదపిల్ల మీద తమ బట్టలువేసి, యేసును దానిమీద ఎక్కించి,

35. They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

36. ఆయన వెళ్లుచుండగా తమ బట్టలు దారిపొడుగున పరచిరి.

36. As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

37. ఒలీవలకొండనుండి దిగుచోటికి ఆయన సమీపించు చున్నప్పుడు శిష్యుల సమూహమంతయు సంతోషించుచు

37. When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

38. ప్రభువు పేరట వచ్చు రాజు స్తుతింపబడునుగాక పరలోకమందు సమాధానమును సర్వోన్నతమైన స్థలములలో మహిమయు ఉండునుగాక అని తాము చూచిన అద్భుతములన్నిటినిగూర్చి మహా శబ్దముతో దేవుని స్తోత్రము చేయసాగిరి.

38. "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

39. ఆ సమూ హములో ఉన్న కొందరు పరిసయ్యులు బోధకుడా, నీ శిష్యులను గద్దింపుమని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా

39. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"

40. ఆయన వారిని చూచివీరు ఊరకుండినయెడల ఈ రాళ్లు కేకలు వేయునని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

40. "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

41. ఆయన పట్టణమునకు సమీపించినప్పుడు దానిని చూచి దాని విషయమై యేడ్చి

41. As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it

42. నీవును ఈ నీ దినమందైనను సమాధానసంబంధమైన సంగతులను తెలిసికొనినయెడల నీకెంతో మేలు; గాని యిప్పుడవి నీ కన్నులకు మరుగు చేయబడియున్నవి.
ద్వితీయోపదేశకాండము 32:29, యెషయా 6:9-10

42. and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace�but now it is hidden from your eyes.

43. (ప్రభువు) నిన్ను దర్శించిన కాలము నీవు ఎరుగకుంటివి గనుక నీ శత్రువులు నీ చుట్టు గట్టు కట్టి ముట్టడివేసి, అన్ని ప్రక్కలను నిన్ను అరికట్టి, నీలోనున్న నీ పిల్లలతో కూడ నిన్ను నేల కలిపి

43. The days will come on you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.

44. నీలో రాతిమీద రాయి నిలిచియుండ నియ్యని దినములు వచ్చునని చెప్పెను.
కీర్తనల గ్రంథము 137:9

44. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."

45. ఆయన దేవాలయములో ప్రవేశించి అందులో విక్ర యము చేయువారితో నా మందిరము ప్రార్థన మందిరము అని వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

45. When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling.

46. అయితే మీరు దానిని దొంగల గుహగా చేసితిరని చెప్పి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్ట నారంభించెను.
యెషయా 56:7, యిర్మియా 7:11

46. "It is written," he said to them, " 'My house will be a house of prayer' ; but you have made it 'a den of robbers.' "

47. ఆయన ప్రతిదినమును దేవాలయములో బోధించు చున్నప్పుడు, ప్రధానయాజకులును శాస్త్రులును ప్రజలలో ప్రధానులును ఆయనను నాశనముచేయ జూచుచుండిరి గాని

47. Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.

48. ప్రజలందరు ఆయన వాక్యమును వినుటకు ఆయనను హత్తుకొని యుండిరి గనుక ఏమి చేయవలెనో వారికి తోచలేదు.

48. Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
