1. NOW THE Festival of Unleavened Bread was drawing near, which is called the Passover.

2. ప్రధానయాజకులును శాస్త్రులును ప్రజలకు భయపడిరి గనుక ఆయనను ఏలాగు చంపింతుమని ఉపాయము వెదకుచుండిరి.

2. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to do away with [Jesus], for they feared the people.

3. అంతట పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యుల సంఖ్యలో చేరిన ఇస్కరియోతు అనబడిన యూదాలో సాతాను ప్రవేశించెను

3. But [then] Satan entered into Judas, called Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve [apostles].

4. గనుక వాడు వెళ్లి, ఆయనను వారికేలాగు అప్పగింపవచ్చునో దానినిగూర్చి ప్రధాన యాజకులతోను అధిపతులతోను మాటలాడెను.

4. And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and captains how he might betray Him and deliver Him up to them.

5. And they were delighted and pledged [themselves] to give him money.

6. So he agreed [to this], and sought an opportunity to betray Him to them [without an uprising] in the absence of the throng.

7. Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover [lamb] had to be slain. [Exod. 12:18-20; Deut. 16:5-8.]

8. యేసు పేతురును యోహానును చూచిమీరు వెళ్లి మనము భుజించుటకై పస్కాను మనకొరకు సిద్ధపరచుడని వారిని పంపెను.

8. So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare for us the Passover meal, that we may eat it.

9. వారుమేమెక్కడ సిద్ధపరచగోరుచున్నావని ఆయనను అడుగగా

9. They said to Him, Where do You want us to prepare [it]?

10. ఆయన ఇదిగో మీరు పట్టణములో ప్రవేశించునప్పుడు నీళ్లకుండ మోసికొనిపోవుచున్న యొకడు మీకు ఎదురుగా వచ్చును; అతడు ప్రవేశించు ఇంటిలోనికి అతని వెంట వెళ్లి

10. He said to them, Behold, when you have gone into the city, a man carrying an earthen jug or pitcher of water will meet you; follow him into the house which he enters,

11. నేను నా శిష్యులతో కూడ పస్కాను భుజించుటకు విడిది గది యెక్కడనని బోధకుడు నిన్నడుగుచున్నాడని యింటి యజమానునితో చెప్పుడి.

11. And say to the master of the house, The Teacher asks you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover [meal] with My disciples?

12. అతడు సామగ్రిగల యొక గొప్ప మేడగది మీకు చూపించును; అక్కడ సిద్ధ పరచుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

12. And he will show you a large room upstairs, furnished [with carpets and with couches properly spread]; there make [your] preparations.

13. వారు వెళ్లి ఆయన తమతో చెప్పినట్టు కనుగొని పస్కాను సిద్ధపరచిరి.

13. And they went and found it [just] as He had said to them; and they made ready the Passover [supper].

14. ఆ గడియ వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆయనయు ఆయనతోకూడ అపొస్తలులును పంక్తిని కూర్చుండిరి.

14. And when the hour came, [Jesus] reclined at table, and the apostles with Him.

15. అప్పుడాయన నేను శ్రమపడకమునుపు మీతోకూడ ఈ పస్కాను భుజింపవలెనని మిక్కిలి ఆశపడితిని.

15. And He said to them, I have earnestly and intensely desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

16. అది దేవుని రాజ్య ములో నెరవేరువరకు ఇక ఎన్నడును దాని భుజింపనని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నానని వారితో చెప్పి

16. For I say to you, I shall eat it no more until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

17. ఆయన గిన్నె ఎత్తికొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించిమీరు దీనిని తీసి కొని మీలో పంచుకొనుడి;

17. And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He said, Take this and divide and distribute it among yourselves;

18. ఇకమీదట దేవుని రాజ్యము వచ్చువరకు నేను ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగనని మీతో చెప్పు చున్నాననెను.

18. For I say to you that from now on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine at all until the kingdom of God comes.

19. పిమ్మట ఆయన యొక రొట్టె పట్టుకొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తు తులు చెల్లించి దాని విరిచి, వారి కిచ్చిఇది మీ కొరకు ఇయ్యబడుచున్న నా శరీరము; నన్ను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుటకు దీనిని చేయుడని చెప్పెను.

19. Then He took a loaf [of bread], and when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and gave it to them saying, This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.

20. ఆ ప్రకారమే భోజనమైన తరువాత ఆయన గిన్నెయు పట్టు కొనిఈ గిన్నె మీకొరకు చిందింపబడుచున్న నా రక్తము వలన నైన క్రొత్త నిబంధన.

20. And in like manner, He took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament or covenant [ratified] in My blood, which is shed (poured out) for you.

21. But, behold, the hand of him who is now engaged in betraying Me is with Me on the table. [Ps. 41:9.]

22. నిర్ణయింపబడిన ప్రకారము మనుష్యకుమారుడు పోవు చున్నాడుగాని ఆయన ఎవరిచేత అప్పగింపబడుచున్నాడో ఆ మనుష్యునికి శ్రమయని చెప్పెను.

22. For the Son of Man is going as it has been determined and appointed, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed and delivered up!

23. వారుఈ పనిని చేయబోవువాడెవరో అని తమలో తాము అడుగుకొన సాగిరి.

23. And they began to inquire among themselves which of them it was who was about to do this. [Ps. 41:9.]

24. తమలో ఎవడు గొప్పవాడుగా ఎంచబడునో అను వివాదము వారిలో పుట్టగా

24. Now an eager contention arose among them [as to] which of them was considered and reputed to be the greatest.

25. ఆయన వారితో ఇట్లనెను అన్యజనములలో రాజులు వారిమీద ప్రభుత్వము చేయుదురు; వారిమీద అధికారము చేయువారు ఉప కారులనబడుదురు.

25. But Jesus said to them, The kings of the Gentiles are deified by them and exercise lordship [ruling as emperor-gods] over them; and those in authority over them are called benefactors and well-doers.

26. మీరైతే ఆలాగు ఉండరాదు; మీలో గొప్పవాడు చిన్నవానివలెను, అధిపతి పరిచారకుని వలెను ఉండవలెను.

26. But this is not to be so with you; on the contrary, let him who is the greatest among you become like the youngest, and him who is the chief and leader like one who serves.

27. గొప్పవాడెవడు? భోజనపంక్తిని కూర్చుండువాడా పరిచర్యచేయువాడా? పంక్తినికూర్చుండు వాడే గదా? అయినను నేను మీ మధ్య పరిచర్య చేయు వానివలె ఉన్నాను.

27. For who is the greater, the one who reclines at table (the master), or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am in your midst as One Who serves.

28. నా శోధనలలో నాతో కూడ నిలిచి యున్నవారు మీరే;

28. And you are those who have remained [throughout] and persevered with Me in My trials;

29. గనుక నాతండ్రి నాకు రాజ్యమును నియమించినట్టుగా నా రాజ్యములో నా బల్లయొద్ద అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొని,

29. And as My Father has appointed a kingdom and conferred it on Me, so do I confer on you [the privilege and decree],

30. సింహాసనముల మీద కూర్చుండి ఇశ్రాయేలు పండ్రెండు గోత్రములవారికి మీరు తీర్పుతీర్చుటకై, నేనును మీకు రాజ్యమును నియమించుచున్నాను.

30. That you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

31. సీమోనూ, సీమోనూ, ఇదిగో సాతాను మిమ్మును పట్టి గోధుమలవలె జల్లించుటకు మిమ్మును కోరుకొనెను గాని

31. Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain, [Job 1:6-12; Amos 9:9.]

32. నీ నమ్మిక తప్పిపోకుండునట్లు నేను నీకొరకు వేడుకొంటిని; నీ మనసు తిరిగిన తరువాత నీ సహోదరులను స్థిరపరచుమని చెప్పెను.

32. But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.

33. అయితే అతడు ప్రభువా, నీతోకూడ చెరలోనికిని మరణమునకును వెళ్లుటకు సిద్ధముగా ఉన్నానని ఆయనతో అనగా

33. And [Simon Peter] said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death.

34. ఆయనపేతురూ, నీవు నన్నెరుగనని ముమ్మారు చెప్పు వరకు, నేడు కోడికూయదని నీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

34. But Jesus said, I tell you, Peter, before a [single] cock shall crow this day, you will three times [utterly] deny that you know Me.

35. మరియు ఆయనసంచియు జాలెయు చెప్పులును లేకుండ నేను మిమ్మును పంపినప్పుడు, మీకు ఏమైనను తక్కువాయెనా అని వారినడిగినప్పుడు వారుఏమియు తక్కువకాలేదనిరి.

35. And He said to them, When I sent you out with no purse or [provision] bag or sandals, did you lack anything? They answered, Nothing!

36. అందుకాయన ఇప్పుడైతే సంచి గలవాడు సంచియు జాలెయు తీసికొని పోవలెను; కత్తి లేనివాడు తన బట్టనమ్మి కత్తి కొనుక్కొనవలెను;

36. Then He said to them, But now let him who has a purse take it, and also [his provision] bag; and let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy a sword.

37. ఆయన అక్రమకారులలో ఒకడుగా ఎంచబడెను అని వ్రాయబడిన మాట నాయందు నెరవేరవలసియున్నది; ఏలయనగా నన్నుగూర్చిన సంగతి సమాప్తమవుచున్నదని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

37. For I tell you that this Scripture must yet be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted and classed among the wicked (the outlaws, the criminals); for what is written about Me has its fulfillment [has reached its end and is finally settled]. [Isa. 53:12.]

38. వారు ప్రభువా, ఇదిగో ఇక్కడ రెండు కత్తులున్నవనగా - చాలునని ఆయన వారితో చెప్పెను.

38. And they said, Look, Lord! Here are two swords. And He said to them, It is enough.

39. తరువాత ఆయన బయలుదేరి, తన వాడుక చొప్పున ఒలీవలకొండకు వెళ్లగా శిష్యులును ఆయనవెంట వెళ్లిరి.

39. And He came out and went, as was His habit, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed Him.

40. ఆ చోటు చేరి ఆయన వారితోమీరు శోధనలో ప్రవేశించకుండునట్లు ప్రార్థనచేయుడని చెప్పి

40. And when He came to the place, He said to them, Pray that you may not [at all] enter into temptation.

41. వారి యొద్ద నుండి రాతివేత దూరము వెళ్లి మోకాళ్లూని

41. And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw and knelt down and prayed,

42. తండ్రీ, యీ గిన్నె నా యొద్దనుండి (తొలగించుటకు) నీ చితమైతే తొలగించుము; అయినను నా యిష్టముకాదు, నీ చిత్తమే సిద్ధించునుగాక అని ప్రార్థించెను.

42. Saying, Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.

43. అప్పుడు పరలోకమునుండి యొకదూత ఆయనకు కనబడి ఆయనను బలపరచెను.

43. And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven, strengthening Him in spirit.

44. ఆయన వేదనపడి మరింత ఆతురముగా ప్రార్థన చేయగా ఆయన చెమట, నేల పడుచున్న గొప్ప రక్త బిందువులవలె ఆయెను.

44. And being in an agony [of mind], He prayed [all the] more earnestly and intently, and His sweat became like great clots of blood dropping down upon the ground.

45. ఆయన ప్రార్థన చాలించి లేచి తన శిష్యులయొద్దకు వచ్చి, వారు దుఃఖము చేత నిద్రించుట చూచి

45. And when He got up from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from grief,

46. మీరెందుకు నిద్రించు చున్నారు? శోధనలో ప్రవేశించకుండునట్లు లేచి ప్రార్థన చేయుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

46. And He said to them, Why do you sleep? Get up and pray that you may not enter [at all] into temptation.

47. ఆయన ఇంకను మాటలాడుచుండగా, ఇదిగో జనులు గుంపుగా వచ్చిరి. పండ్రెండుమందిలో యూదా అన బడినవాడు వారికంటె ముందుగా నడిచి, యేసును ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనుటకు ఆయనయొద్దకు రాగా

47. And while He was still speaking, behold, there came a crowd, and the man called Judas, one of the Twelve [apostles], was going before [leading] them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss Him,

48. యేసు యూదా, నీవు ముద్దుపెట్టుకొని మనుష్యకుమారుని అప్పగించు చున్నావా అని వానితో అనగా

48. But Jesus said to him, Judas! Would you betray and deliver up the Son of Man with a kiss?

49. ఆయన చుట్టుఉన్న వారు జరుగబోవు దానిని చూచిప్రభువా, కత్తితో నరుకుదుమా అని ఆయనను అడిగిరి.

49. And when those who were around Him saw what was about to happen, they said, Lord, shall we strike with the sword?

50. అంతలో వారిలో ఒకడు ప్రధానయాజకుని దాసుని కొట్టి, వాని కుడి చెవి తెగనరికెను.

50. And one of them struck the bond servant of the high priest and cut off his ear, the right one.

51. అయితే యేసు ఈ మట్టుకు తాళుడని చెప్పి, వాని చెవి ముట్టి బాగుచేసెను.

51. But Jesus said, Permit them to go so far [as to seize Me]. And He touched the little (insignificant) ear and healed him.

52. యేసు తన్ను పట్టుకొనవచ్చిన ప్రధానయాజకులతోను దేవాలయపు అధిపతులతోను పెద్దలతోనుమీరు బందిపోటు దొంగ మీదికి వచ్చినట్టు కత్తులతోను గుదియలతోను బయలుదేరి వచ్చితిరా?

52. Then Jesus said to those who had come out against Him--the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders [of the Sanhedrin]--Have you come out with swords and clubs as [you would] against a robber?

53. నేను అనుదినము మీచెంత దేవాలయములో ఉన్నప్పుడు మీరు నన్ను పట్టుకొనలేదు; అయితే ఇది మీ గడియయు అంధకార సంబంధమైన అధికారమును అనెను.

53. When I was with you day after day in the temple [enclosure], you did not stretch forth [your] hands against Me. But this is your hour--and the power [which] darkness [gives you has its way].

54. వారాయనను పట్టి యీడ్చుకొనిపోయి ప్రధాన యాజకుని యింటిలోనికి తీసికొనిపోయిరి. పేతురు దూర ముగా వారి వెనుక వచ్చుచుండెను.

54. Then they seized Him and led Him away, bringing Him into the house of the high priest. Peter was following at a distance.

55. అంతట కొందరు నడుముంగిట మంటవేసి చుట్టు కూర్చుండి నప్పుడు, పేతురును వారి మధ్యను కూర్చుండెను.

55. And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and were seated together, Peter sat among them.

56. అప్పుడొక చిన్నది ఆ మంట వెలుతురులో అతడు కూర్చుండుట చూచి అతని తేరిచూచివీడును అతనితో కూడ ఉండెనని చెప్పెను.

56. Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and gazing [intently] at him, said, This man too was with Him.

57. అందుకు పేతురు అమ్మాయీ, నేనతని నెరుగననెను.

57. But he denied it and said, Woman, I do not know Him!

58. మరి కొంత సేపటికి మరియొకడు అతని చూచినీవును వారిలో ఒకడవనగా పేతురు ఓయీ, నేను కాననెను.

58. And a little later someone else saw him and said, You are one of them also. But Peter said, Man, I am not!

59. ఇంచుమించు ఒక గడియయైన తరువాత మరియొకడు నిజముగా వీడును అతనితో కూడ ఉండెను, వీడు గలిలయుడని దృఢముగా చెప్పెను.

59. And when about an hour more had elapsed, still another emphatically insisted, It is the truth that this man also was with Him, for he too is a Galilean!

60. అందుకు పేతురు ఓయీ, నీవు చెప్పినది నాకు తెలియ దనెను. అతడింకను మాటలాడుచుండగా వెంటనే కోడి కూసెను.

60. But Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are talking about. And instantly, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed.

61. అప్పుడు ప్రభువు తిరిగి పేతురు వైపు చూచెను గనుక పేతురు నేడు కోడి కూయకమునుపు నీవు ముమ్మారు నన్ను ఎరుగనందువని ప్రభువు తనతో చెప్పిన మాట జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని

61. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter recalled the Lord's words, how He had told him, Before the cock crows today, you will deny Me thrice.

62. వెలుపలికిపోయి సంతాపపడి యేడ్చెను.

62. And he went out and wept bitterly [that is, with painfully moving grief].

63. యేసును పట్టుకొనిన మనుష్యులు ఆయనను అపహసించి కొట్టి, ఆయన ముఖము కప్పి,

63. Now the men who had Jesus in custody treated Him with contempt and scoffed at and ridiculed Him and beat Him;

64. నిన్ను కొట్టిన వాడెవడో ప్రవచింపుమని ఆయనను అడిగి

64. They blindfolded Him also and asked Him, Prophesy! Who is it that struck You?

65. ఆయనకు విరోధముగా ఇంకను అనేక దూషణ వచనములాడిరి.

65. And they said many other evil and slanderous and insulting words against Him, reviling Him.

66. ఉదయము కాగానే ప్రజల పెద్దలును ప్రధాన యాజకులును శాస్త్రులును సభకూడి, ఆయనను తమ మహా సభలోనికి తీసికొనిపోయి

66. As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led Him into their council (the Sanhedrin), and they said,

67. నీవు క్రీస్తువైతే మాతో చెప్పుమనిరి. అందుకాయన నేను మీతో చెప్పినయెడల మీరు నమ్మరు.

67. If You are the Christ (the Messiah), tell us. But He said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe (trust in, cleave to, and rely on what I say),

68. అదియుగాక నేను మిమ్మును అడిగినయెడల మీరు నాకు ఉత్తరము చెప్పరు.

68. And if I question you, you will not answer.

69. ఇది మొదలుకొని మనుష్యకుమారుడు మహాత్మ్యముగల దేవుని కుడిపార్శ్వమున ఆసీనుడగునని వారితో చెప్పెను.

69. But hereafter (from this time on), the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God. [Ps. 110:1.]

70. అందుకు వారందరు అట్లయితే నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడవా? అని అడుగగా ఆయన మీరన్నట్టు నేనే ఆయనను అని వారితో చెప్పెను.

70. And they all said, You are the Son of God, then? And He said to them, It is just as you say; I AM.

71. అందుకు వారు మనకిక సాక్షులతో పని ఏమి? మనము అతని నోటిమాట వింటిమిగదా అని చెప్పిరి.

71. And they said, What further evidence do we need? For we have heard [it] ourselves from His own mouth!
