1. జనసమూహము దేవుని వాక్యము వినుచు ఆయనమీద పడుచుండగా ఆయన గెన్నేసరెతు సరస్సుతీరమున నిలిచి,

1. One day Jesus was standing by the Sea of Galilee. The people crowded around him and listened to the word of God.

2. ఆ సరస్సు తీరముననున్న రెండుదోనెలను చూచెను; జాలరులు వాటిలోనుండి దిగి తమ వలలు కడుగుచుండిరి.

2. Jesus saw two boats at the edge of the water. They had been left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.

3. ఆయన ఆ దోనెలలో సీమోనుదైన యొక దోనె యెక్కిదరినుండి కొంచెము త్రోయుమని అతని నడిగి, కూర్చుండి దోనెలోనుండి జనసమూహములకు బోధించుచుండెను.

3. He got into the boat that belonged to Simon. Jesus asked him to go out a little way from shore. Then he sat down in the boat and taught the people.

4. ఆయన బోధించుట చాలించిన తరువాత నీవు దోనెను లోతునకు నడిపించి, చేపలు పట్టుటకు మీ వలలు వేయుడని సీమోనుతో చెప్పగా

4. When he finished speaking, he turned to Simon. He said, 'Go out into deep water. Let the nets down so you can catch some fish.'

5. సీమోను ఏలినవాడా, రాత్రి అంతయు మేము ప్రయాసపడితివిు గాని మాకేమియు దొరకలేదు; అయినను నీ మాట చొప్పున వలలు వేతునని ఆయనతో చెప్పెను.

5. Simon answered, 'Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.'

6. వారాలాగు చేసి విస్తారమైన చేపలు పట్టిరి, అందుచేత వారి వలలు పిగిలిపోవుచుండగా

6. When they had done so, they caught a large number of fish. There were so many that their nets began to break.

7. వారు వేరొక దోనె లోనున్న తమ పాలివారు వచ్చి తమకు సహాయము చేయవలెనని వారికి సంజ్ఞలు చేసిరి; వారు వచ్చి రెండు దోనెలు మునుగునట్లు నింపిరి.

7. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

8. సీమోను పేతురు అది చూచి, యేసు మోకాళ్లయెదుట సాగిలపడి ప్రభువా, నన్నువిడిచి పొమ్ము, నేను పాపాత్ముడ నని చెప్పెను.

8. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees. 'Go away from me, Lord!' he said. 'I am a sinful man!'

9. ఏలయనగా వారు పట్టిన చేపల రాశికి అతడును అతనితో కూడనున్న వారందరును విస్మయ మొందిరి.

9. He and everyone with him were amazed at the number of fish they had caught.

10. ఆలాగున సీమోనుతో కూడ పాలివారైన జెబెదయి కుమారులగు యాకోబును యోహానును (విస్మయ మొందిరి). అందుకు యేసు భయపడకుము, ఇప్పటినుండి నీవు మనుష్యులను పట్టువాడవై యుందువని సీమోనుతో చెప్పెను.

10. So were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who worked with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, 'Don't be afraid. From now on you will catch people.'

11. వారు దోనెలను దరికిచేర్చి, సమస్తమును విడిచిపెట్టి ఆయనను వెంబడించిరి.

11. So they pulled their boats up on shore. Then they left everything and followed him.

12. ఆయన యొక పట్టణములో నున్నప్పుడు ఇదిగో కుష్ఠ రోగముతో నిండిన యొక మనుష్యుడుండెను. వాడు యేసును చూచి, సాగిలపడి ప్రభువా, నీ కిష్టమైతే నన్ను శుద్ధునిగా చేయగలవని ఆయనను వేడుకొనెను.

12. While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along. He had a skin disease all over his body. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground. He begged him, 'Lord, if you are willing to make me 'clean,' you can do it.'

13. అప్పుడాయన చెయ్యిచాపి వానిని ముట్టి నాకిష్టమే; నీవు శుద్ధుడవుకమ్మని అనగానే, కుష్ఠరోగము వానిని విడిచెను.

13. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing to do it,' he said. 'Be 'clean'!' Right away the disease left him.

14. అప్పుడాయన నీవు ఎవనితోను చెప్పక వెళ్లి, వారికి సాక్ష్యార్థమై నీ దేహమును యాజకునికి కనుపరచుకొని, నీవు శుద్ధుడవైనందుకు మోషే నియమించినట్టు కానుకలను సమర్పించుమని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను.

14. Then Jesus ordered him, 'Don't tell anyone. Go and show yourself to the priest. Offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded. It will be a witness to the priest and the people that you are 'clean.' '

15. అయితే ఆయనను గూర్చిన సమాచారము మరి ఎక్కువగా వ్యాపించెను. బహుజన సమూహములు ఆయన మాట వినుటకును తమ రోగములను కుదుర్చుకొనుటకును కూడివచ్చు చుండెను.

15. But the news about Jesus spread even more. So crowds of people came to hear him. They also came to be healed of their sicknesses.

16. ఆయన ప్రార్థన చేయుటకు అరణ్యము లోనికి వెళ్లుచుండెను.

16. But Jesus often went away to be by himself and pray.

17. ఒకనాడాయన బోధించుచుండగా, గలిలయ యూదయదేశముల ప్రతి గ్రామమునుండియు యెరూష లేమునుండియు వచ్చిన పరిసయ్యులును ధర్మశాస్త్రోపదేశ కులును కూర్చుండియుండగా, ఆయన స్వస్థపరచునట్లు ప్రభువు శక్తి ఆయనకుండెను.

17. One day Jesus was teaching. Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. They heard that the Lord had given Jesus the power to heal the sick.

18. ఇదిగో కొందరు మనుష్యులు పక్షవాయువుగల యొక మనుష్యుని మంచముమీద మోసి కొని, వానిని లోపలికి తెచ్చి, ఆయన యెదుట ఉంచు టకు ప్రయత్నము చేసిరి గాని

18. Some men came carrying a man who could not walk. He was lying on a mat. They tried to take him into the house to place him in front of Jesus.

19. జనులు గుంపుకూడి యుండి నందున, వానిని లోపలికి తెచ్చుటకు వల్లపడక పోయెను గనుక, ఇంటిమీది కెక్కి పెంకులు విప్పి, మంచముతో కూడ యేసు ఎదుట వారి మధ్యను వానిని దించిరి.

19. They could not find a way to do this because of the crowd. So they went up on the roof. Then they lowered the man on his mat through the opening in the roof tiles. They lowered him into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

20. ఆయన వారి విశ్వాసము చూచి మనుష్యుడా, నీ పాప ములు క్షమింపబడియున్నవని వానితో చెప్పగా,

20. When Jesus saw that they had faith, he said, 'Friend, your sins are forgiven.'

21. శాస్త్రు లును పరిసయ్యులును దేవదూషణ చేయుచున్న యితడెవడు? దేవుడొక్కడే తప్ప మరి ఎవడు పాపములు క్షమింపగలడని ఆలోచించుకొనసాగిరి.

21. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to think, 'Who is this fellow who says such an evil thing? Who can forgive sins but God alone?'

22. యేసు వారి ఆలోచన లెరిగిమీరు మీ హృదయములలో ఏమి ఆలో చించుచున్నారు?

22. Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he asked, 'Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

23. నీ పాపములు క్షమింపబడి యున్న వని చెప్పుట సులభమా? నీవు లేచి నడువుమని చెప్పుట సులభమా?

23. Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven'? Or to say, 'Get up and walk'?

24. అయితే పాపములు క్షమించుటకు భూమి మీద మనుష్యకుమారునికి అధికారము కలదని మీరు తెలిసికొనవలెను అని వారితో చెప్పి, పక్షవాయువు గల వాని చూచినీవు లేచి, నీ మంచమెత్తికొని, నీ యింటికి వెళ్లుమని నీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

24. I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.' So he spoke to the man who could not walk. 'I tell you,' he said, 'get up. Take your mat and go home.'

25. వెంటనే వాడు వారియెదుట లేచి, తాను పండుకొనియున్న మంచము ఎత్తి కొని, దేవుని మహిమపరచుచు తన యింటికి వెళ్లెను.

25. Right away, the man stood up in front of them. He took his mat and went home praising God.

26. అందరును విస్మయమొందినేడు గొప్ప వింతలు చూచితి మని దేవుని మహిమపరచుచు భయముతో నిండుకొనిరి.

26. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with wonder. They said, 'We have seen unusual things today.'

27. అటుపిమ్మట ఆయన బయలుదేరి, లేవి యను ఒక సుంకరి, సుంకపు మెట్టునొద్ద కూర్చుండియుండుట చూచి నన్ను వెంబడించుమని అతనితో చెప్పగా

27. After this, Jesus left the house. He saw a tax collector sitting at the tax booth. The man's name was Levi. 'Follow me,' Jesus said to him.

28. అతడు సమస్తమును విడిచిపెట్టి, లేచి, ఆయనను వెంబడించెను.

28. Levi got up, left everything and followed him.

29. ఆ లేవి, తన యింట ఆయనకు గొప్ప విందు చేసెను. సుంకరులును ఇతరులు అనేకులును వారితో కూడ భోజన మునకు కూర్చుండిరి.

29. Then Levi gave a huge dinner for Jesus at his house. A large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.

30. పరిసయ్యులును వారి శాస్త్రులును ఇది చూచి సుంకరులతోను పాపులతోను మీరేల తిని త్రాగుచున్నారని ఆయన శిష్యులమీద సణిగిరి.

30. But the Pharisees and their teachers of the law complained to Jesus' disciples. They said, 'Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'?'

31. అందుకు యేసురోగులకే గాని ఆరోగ్యముగల వారికి వైద్యుడక్కరలేదు.

31. Jesus answered them, 'Those who are healthy don't need a doctor. Sick people do.

32. మారుమనస్సు పొందుటకై నేను పాపులను పిలువవచ్చితిని గాని నీతిమంతులను పిలువరాలేదని వారితో చెప్పెను.

32. I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to turn away from their sins.'

33. వారాయనను చూచి యోహాను శిష్యులు తరచుగా ఉపవాసప్రార్థనలు చేయుదురు; ఆలాగే పరిసయ్యుల శిష్యులును చేయుదురు గాని, నీ శిష్యులు తిని త్రాగుచున్నారే అని చెప్పిరి.

33. Some of the people who were there said to Jesus, 'John's disciples often pray and go without eating. So do the disciples of the Pharisees. But yours go on eating and drinking.'

34. అందుకు యేసుపెండ్లి కుమారుడు తమతో ఉన్నంతకాలము పెండ్లి ఇంటి వారి చేత మీరు ఉపవాసము చేయింప గలరా?

34. Jesus answered, 'Can you make the guests of the groom go without eating while he is with them?

35. పెండ్లికుమా రుడు వారియొద్దనుండి కొనిపోబడు దినములు వచ్చును; ఆ దినములలో వారు ఉపవాసము చేతురని వారితో చెప్పెను.

35. But the time will come when the groom will be taken away from them. In those days they will fast.'

36. ఆయన వారితో ఒక ఉపమానము చెప్పెను. ఎట్లనగాఎవడును పాతబట్టకు క్రొత్తగుడ్డ మాసికవేయడు; వేసిన యెడల క్రొత్తది దానిని చింపివేయును; అదియునుగాక క్రొత్తదానిలోనుండి తీసిన ముక్క పాతదానితో కలియదు.

36. Then Jesus gave them an example. He said, 'People don't tear a patch from new clothes and sew it on old clothes. If they do, they will tear the new clothes. Also, the patch from the new clothes will not match the old clothes.

37. ఎవడును పాత తిత్తులలో క్రొత్త ద్రాక్షారసము పోయడు; పోసినయెడల క్రొత్త ద్రాక్షారసము తిత్తులను పిగుల్చును, రసము కారిపోవును, తిత్తులును పాడగును.

37. People don't pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the new wine will burst the skins. The wine will run out, and the wineskins will be destroyed.

38. అయితే క్రొత్త ద్రాక్షారసము కొత్త తిత్తులలో పోయవలెను.

38. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.

39. పాత ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగి వెంటనే క్రొత్త దానిని కోరువాడెవడును లేడు; పాతదే మంచిదనునని చెప్పెను.

39. After people drink old wine, they don't want the new. They say, 'The old wine is better.' '
