1. ఫేస్తు ఆ దేశాధికారమునకు వచ్చిన మూడు దినములకు కైసరయనుండి యెరూషలేమునకు వెళ్లెను.

1. When Festus was come into the province, after three days, he ascended from Cesarea unto Jerusalem.

2. అప్పుడు ప్రధానయాజకులును యూదులలో ముఖ్యులును పౌలుమీద తాము తెచ్చిన ఫిర్యాదు సంగతి అతనికి తెలియజేసిరి.

2. Then enformed him the high priests, and the chief of the jews against (of) Paul. And they entreated(besought) him,

3. మరియు త్రోవలో అతనిని చంపుటకు పొంచియుండి మీరు దయచేసి అతనిని యెరూషలేమునకు పిలువనంపించుడని అతనినిగూర్చి ఫేస్తు నొద్ద మనవి చేసిరి.

3. and desired favour against him that he would send for him to Jerusalem, and laid wait for him in the way to kill him.

4. అందుకు ఫేస్తుపౌలు కైసరయలో కావలిలో ఉన్నాడు; నేను శీఘ్రముగా అక్కడికి వెళ్ల బోవుచున్నాను

4. Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Cesarea: but that he himself would shortly depart thither.

5. గనుక మీలో సమర్థులైనవారు నాతో కూడ వచ్చి ఆ మనుష్యునియందు తప్పిదమేదైన ఉంటే అతనిమీద మోపవచ్చునని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

5. Let them therefore (said he) which among you are able to do it come down with us and accuse him, if there be any fault in the man.

6. అతడు వారియొద్ద ఎనిమిది, పది దినములు గడిపి కైసరయకు వెళ్లి మరునాడు న్యాయపీఠముమీద కూర్చుండి పౌలును తీసికొని రమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను.

6. When he had tarried there more than ten days he departed unto Cesarea, and the next day sat down in the judgement seat, and commanded Paul to be brought.

7. పౌలు వచ్చినప్పుడు యెరూషలేమునుండి వచ్చిన యూదులు అతని చుట్టు నిలిచి, భారమైన నేరములనేకముల మోపిరి గాని వాటిని ఋజువు చేయలేక పోయిరి.

7. When he was come the jews which were come from Jerusalem, came about him and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove

8. అందుకు పౌలుయూదుల ధర్మశాస్త్రమును గూర్చి గాని దేవాలయమును గూర్చి గాని, కైసరును గూర్చి గాని నేనెంతమాత్రమును తప్పిదము చేయలేదని సమాధానము చెప్పెను.

8. as long as he answered for himself, that he had neither against the law of the jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Cesar offended any thing at all.

9. అయితే ఫేస్తు యూదులచేత మంచివాడనిపించు కొనవలెనని యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ నా యెదుట ఈ సంగతులనుగూర్చి విమర్శింపబడుట నీకిష్టమా అని పౌలును అడిగెను.

9. Festus willing to do the jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said: Wilt thou go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?

10. అందుకు పౌలు కైసరు న్యాయపీఠము ఎదుట నిలువబడి యున్నాను; నేను విమర్శింపబడవలసిన స్థలమిదే, యూదులకు నేను అన్యాయమేమియు చేయలేదని తమరికి బాగుగా తెలియును.

10. Then said Paul: I stand at Cesar's judgement seat, where I ought to be judged. To the jews have I no harm done, as thou verily well knowest.

11. నేను న్యాయము తప్పి మరణమునకు తగినదేదైనను చేసినయెడల మరణమునకు వెనుకతీయను; వీరు నామీద మోపుచున్న నేరములలో ఏదియు నిజముకాని యెడల నన్ను వారికి అప్పగించుటకు ఎవరితరముకాదు; కైసరు ఎదుటనే చెప్పుకొందుననెను.

11. If I have hurt them, or committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die. If none of these things are, where of they accuse me, no man ought to deliver me to them. I appeal unto Cesar.(the Emperour)

12. అప్పుడు ఫేస్తు తన సభవారితో ఆలోచనచేసిన తరువాత కైసరు ఎదుట చెప్పుకొందునంటివే కైసరునొద్దకే పోవుదువని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

12. Then spake Festus with deliberation,(the Council) and answered: Thou hast appealed unto Cesar: unto Cesar shalt thou go.

13. కొన్ని దినములైన తరువాత రాజైన అగ్రిప్పయు బెర్నీకేయు ఫేస్తు దర్శనము చేసికొనుటకు కైసరయకు వచ్చిరి.

13. After a certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Cesarea to salute Festus.

14. వారక్కడ అనేకదినములుండగా, ఫేస్తు పౌలు సంగతి రాజుకు తెలియజెప్పెను; ఏమనగా ఫేలిక్సు విడిచిపెట్టిపోయిన యొక ఖైదీ యున్నాడు.

14. And when they had been there a good season, Festus rehearsed Paul's cause unto the king saying: There is a certain man left in prison of Felix

15. నేను యెరూషలేములో ఉన్నప్పుడు ప్రధానయాజకులును యూదుల పెద్దలును అతనిమీద తెచ్చిన ఫిర్యాదు తెలిపి అతనికి శిక్ష విధింపవలెనని వేడుకొనిరి.

15. about whom when I came to Jerusalem the high priests, and seniors(elders) of the jews enformed me, and desired to have judgement against him.

16. అందుకు నేను నేరము మోపబడివవాడు నేరము మోపినవారికి ముఖా ముఖిగా వచ్చి, తనమీద మోపబడిన నేరమునుగూర్చి సమాధానము చెప్పుకొనుటకు అవకాశమియ్యకమునుపు ఏ మనుష్యునినైనను అప్పగించుట రోమీయుల ఆచారము కాదని ఉత్తరమిచ్చితిని.

16. To whom I answered: It is not the manner of the romans to deliver any man that he should perish, before that he which is accused, have the accusers before him,(presence) and have license(receive liberty) to answer for himself, as pertaining to the crime whereof he is accused:(concerning the crime laid against him:)

17. కాబట్టి వారిక్కడికి కూడి వచ్చినప్పుడు నేను ఆలస్యమేమియు చేయక, మరునాడు న్యాయ పీఠముమీద కూర్చుండి ఆ మనుష్యుని తీసికొని రమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించితిని.

17. when they were come hither, without delay on the morrow(next day) I sat to give judgement, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

18. నేరము మోపినవారు నిలిచినప్పుడు, నేననుకొనిన నేరములలో ఒకటియైనను అతని మీద మోపినవారు కారు.

18. Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:

19. అయితే తమ మతమును గూర్చియు, చనిపోయిన యేసు అను ఒకనిగూర్చియు ఇతనితో వారికి కొన్ని వివాదములున్నట్టు కనబడెను;

19. But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus which was dead; whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

20. ఆ యేసు బ్రదికియున్నాడని పౌలు చెప్పెను. నేనట్టి వాదముల విషయమై యేలాగున విచారింపవలెనోయేమియు తోచక, యెరూషలేమునకు వెళ్లి అక్కడ వీటినిగూర్చి విమర్శింప బడుటకు అతని కిష్టమవునేమో అని అడిగితిని.

20. (And) Because I doubted(understood not) of the(such manner) questions, I asked him whither he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.

21. అయితే పౌలు, చక్రవర్తి విమర్శకు తన్ను నిలిపి యుంచవలెనని చెప్పుకొనినందున నేనతనిని కైసరునొద్దకు పంపించు వరకు నిలిపియుంచవ లెనని ఆజ్ఞాపించితిననెను.

21. Then when Paul had appealed to be kept unto the knowledge of Cesar. I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Cesar.

22. అందుకు అగ్రిప్ప ఆ మనుష్యుడు చెప్పుకొనునది నేనును వినగోరు చున్నానని ఫేస్తుతో అనగా అతడురేపు వినవచ్చునని చెప్పెను.

22. Agrippa said unto Festus: I would also hear the man myself. Tomorrow (said he) thou shalt hear him.

23. కాబట్టి మరునాడు అగ్రిప్పయు బెర్నీకేయు మిక్కిలి ఆడంబరముతో వచ్చి, సహస్రాధిపతులతోను పట్టణ మందలి ప్రముఖులతోను అధికారమందిరములో ప్రవేశించిన తరువాత ఫేస్తు ఆజ్ఞనియ్యగా పౌలు తేబడెను.

23. (And) On the morrow when Agrippa was come and Bernice with great pomp, and were entered into the council house with the captains and chief men of the city, at Festus' commandment Paul was brought forth,

24. అప్పుడు ఫేస్తు అగ్రిప్పరాజా, యిక్కడ మాతో ఉన్న సమస్తజనులారా, మీరు ఈ మనుష్యుని చూచుచున్నారు. యెరూషలేములోను ఇక్కడను యూదులందరు వీడు ఇక బ్రదుక తగడని కేకలు వేయుచు అతనిమీద నాతో మనవి చేసికొనిరి.

24. and Festus said: King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us: Ye see this man about whom all the multitude of (the) jews have been with me, both at Jerusalem and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.

25. ఇతడు మరణమునకు తగినది ఏమియు చేయలేదని నేను గ్రహించి, యితడు చక్రవర్తియెదుట చెప్పుకొందునని అనినందున ఇతని పంప నిశ్చయించి యున్నాను.

25. Yet found(perceived) I nothing worthy of death that he had committed. Nevertheless seeing that he hath appealed to Cesar, I have determined to send him.

26. ఇతనిగూర్చి మన యేలినవారి పేర వ్రాయుటకు నాకు నిశ్చయమైనది ఏమియు కనబడలేదు గనుక విచారణయైన తరువాత వ్రాయుటకు ఏమైనను నాకు దొరకవచ్చునని మీ అందరియెదుటికిని, అగ్రిప్పరాజా, ముఖ్యముగా మీ యెదుటికిని, ఇతని రప్పించి యున్నాను.

26. Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him unto you, and specially unto thee, king Agrippa, that after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.

27. ఖయిదీమీద మోపబడిన నేరములను వివరింపకుండ అతని పంపుట యుక్తముకాదని నాకు తోచు చున్నదని చెప్పెను.

27. For me thinketh it unreasonable for to send a prisoner, and not to shew the causes, which are laid against him.
