1. ప్రవక్తయేగాని కలలు కనువాడేగాని నీ మధ్యలేచి నీ యెదుట సూచక క్రియనైనను మహత్కార్యమునైనను చేసి

1. 'Everything I am commanding you, you are to take care to do. Do not add to it or subtract from it.

2. నీవు ఎరుగని యితర దేవతలను అనుసరించి పూజిం తము రమ్మని చెప్పినయెడల

2. 'If a prophet or someone who gets messages while dreaming arises among you and he gives you a sign or wonder,

3. అతడు నీతో చెప్పిన సూచక క్రియగాని మహత్కార్యముగాని సంభవించినను ఆ ప్రవక్తమాటలను కలలు కనువాని మాటలను వినకూడదు. ఏలయనగా మీరు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మీ పూర్ణ హృదయము తోను మీ పూర్ణాత్మతోను ప్రేమించుచున్నారో లేదో తెలిసికొనుటకు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మిమ్మును పరీక్షించుచున్నాడు.

3. and the sign or wonder comes about as he predicted when he said, 'Let's follow other gods, which you have not known; and let us serve them,'

4. మీరు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు లోబడి ఆయనకే భయపడి ఆయన ఆజ్ఞల ననుసరించి ఆయన మాట విని ఆయనను సేవించి ఆయనను హత్తుకొని యుండవలెను.

4. you are not to listen to what that prophet or dreamer says. For ADONAI your God is testing you, in order to find out whether you really do love ADONAI your God with all your heart and being.

5. నీవు నడవవలెనని నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకాజ్ఞాపించిన మార్గములోనుండి నిన్ను తొలగించునట్లు ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి మిమ్మును రప్పించి దాస్యగృహములోనుండి మిమ్మును విడిపించిన మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయుటకు మిమ్మును ప్రేరేపించెను గనుక ఆ ప్రవక్త కేమి ఆ కలలు కనువాని కేమి మరణశిక్ష విధింపవలెను. అట్లు నీ మధ్యనుండి ఆ చెడుతనమును పరిహరింపవలెను.

5. You are to follow ADONAI your God, fear him, obey his [mitzvot], listen to what he says, serve him and cling to him;

6. నీ తల్లి కుమారుడేగాని నీ సహోదరుడేగాని నీ కుమా రుడేగాని నీ కుమార్తెయేగాని నీ కౌగిటి భార్యయేగాని నీ ప్రాణస్నేహితుడేగాని

6. and that prophet or dreamer is to be put to death; because he urged rebellion against ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from a life of slavery; in order to seduce you away from the path ADONAI your God ordered you to follow. This is how you are to rid your community of this wickedness.

7. భూమియొక్క యీ కొన మొదలుకొని ఆ కొనవరకు నీకు సమీపముగా నుండినను నీకు దూరముగానుండినను, నీ చుట్టునుండు జనముల దేవ తలలో నీవును నీ పితరులును ఎరుగని యితర దేవతలను పూజింతము రమ్మని రహస్యముగా నిన్ను ప్రేరేపించిన యెడల

7. 'If your brother the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or your wife whom you love, or your friend who means as much to you as yourself, secretly tries to entice you to go and serve other gods, which you haven't known, neither you nor your ancestors-

8. వారి మాటకు సమ్మతింపకూడదు; వారిమాట వినకూడదు, వారిని కటాక్షింపకూడదు; వారియందు జాలి పడకూడదు, వారిని మాటుపరచకూడదు; అవశ్యముగా వారిని చంపవలెను.

8. gods of the peoples surrounding you, whether near or far away from you, anywhere in the world-

9. చంపుటకు నీ జనులందరికి ముందు గాను నీ చెయ్యి మొదట వారిమీద పడవలెను.

9. you are not to consent, and you are not to listen to him; and you must not pity him or spare him; and you may not conceal him.

10. రాళ్లతో వారిని చావగొట్టవలెను. ఏలయనగా ఐగుప్తుదేశములో నుండియు దాస్యగృహములోనుండియు నిన్ను రప్పించిన నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయొద్దనుండి వారు నిన్ను తొలగింప యత్నించెదరు.

10. Rather, you must kill him! Your own hand must be the first one on him in putting him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.

11. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు విని భయపడుదురు గనుక నీ మధ్య అట్టి దుష్కార్యమేమియు ఇకను చేయకుందురు.

11. You are to stone him to death; because he has tried to draw you away from ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a life of slavery.

12. నీవు నివసించుటకు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకిచ్చు చున్న నీ పురములలో ఏదోయొకదానియందు

12. Then all Isra'el will hear about it and be afraid, so that they will stop doing such wickedness as this among themselves.

13. పనికి మాలిన కొందరు మనుష్యులు నీ మధ్య లేచి, మీరు ఎరుగని యితర దేవతలను పూజింతము రండని తమ పుర నివాసులను ప్రేరేపించిరని నీవు వినినయెడల, నీవు ఆ సంగతిని శోధించి పరీక్షించి బాగుగా విచారింపవలెను.

13. 'If you hear it told that in one of your cities which ADONAI your God is giving you to live in,

14. అది నిజమైనయెడల, అనగా అట్టి హేయమైనది నీ మధ్య జరిగినయెడల

14. certain scoundrels have sprung up among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city by saying, 'Let's go and serve other gods, which you haven't known,'

15. ఆ పురనివాసులను అవశ్యముగా కత్తివాత సంహరించి, దానిని దానిలోనున్న సమస్తమును దాని పశువులను కత్తివాత నిర్మూలము చేయవలెను.

15. then you are to investigate the matter, inquiring and searching diligently. If the rumor is true, if it is confirmed that such detestable things are being done among you,

16. దాని కొల్లసొమ్మంతటిని విశాలవీధిలో చేర్చి, నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా పేరట ఆ పురమును దాని కొల్లసొమ్మంతటిని అగ్నితో బొత్తిగా కాల్చి వేయవలెను. అది తిరిగి కట్ట బడక యెల్లప్పుడును పాడుదిబ్బయై యుండును.

16. you must put the inhabitants of that city to death with the sword, destroying it completely with the sword, everything in it, including its livestock.

17. నేడు నేను నీకాజ్ఞాపించు ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలన్నిటిని గైకొనుచు

17. Heap all its spoils in an open space, and burn the city with its spoils to the ground for ADONAI your God; it will remain a [tel] forever and not be built again-

18. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా దృష్టికి యథార్థమైన దాని చేయుచు, నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాట వినునప్పుడు యెహోవా తన కోపాగ్నినుండి మళ్లుకొని నీయందు కని కరపడి నిన్ను కరుణించి నీ పితరులతో ప్రమాణముచేసిన రీతిని నిన్ను విస్తరింపజేయునట్లు, నిర్మూలము చేయవలసిన దానిలో కొంచెమైనను నీయొద్ద ఉంచుకొనకూడదు.

18. none of what has been set apart for destruction is to stay in your hands. Then ADONAI will turn from his fierce anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and increase your numbers, as he swore to your ancestors-
