1. మెట్టుకు సహోదరులారా, మేము ప్రభువైన యేసు ద్వారా మీకిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞను మీరెరుగుదురు.

1. FURTHERMORE, BRETHREN, we beg and admonish you in [virtue of our union with] the Lord Jesus, that [you follow the instructions which] you learned from us about how you ought to walk so as to please and gratify God, as indeed you are doing, [and] that you do so even more and more abundantly [attaining yet greater perfection in living this life].

2. కాగా మీరేలాగు నడుచుకొని దేవుని సంతోషపరచవలెనో మావలన నేర్చుకొనిన ప్రకారముగా మీరు నడుచుకొనుచున్నారు. ఈ విషయములో మీరు అంతకంతకు అభివృద్ధి నొందవలెనని మిమ్మును వేడుకొని ప్రభువైన యేసునందు హెచ్చ రించుచున్నాము.

2. For you know what charges and precepts we gave you [on the authority and by the inspiration of] the Lord Jesus.

3. మీరు పరిశుద్ధులగుటయే, అనగా మీరు జారత్వమునకు దూరముగా ఉండుటయే దేవుని చిత్తము.

3. For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice,

4. మీలో ప్రతివాడును, దేవుని ఎరుగని అన్యజనులవలె కామాభిలాషయందు కాక,

4. That each one of you should know how to possess (control, manage) his own body in consecration (purity, separated from things profane) and honor,

5. పరిశుద్ధతయందును ఘనతయందును తన తన ఘటమును ఎట్లు కాపాడుకొనవలెనో అది యెరిగియుండుటయే దేవుని చిత్తము.

5. Not [to be used] in the passion of lust like the heathen, who are ignorant of the true God and have no knowledge of His will,

6. ఈ విషయమందెవడును అతిక్రమించి తన సహోదరునికి మోసము చేయకుండవలెను; ఎందుకనగా మేము పూర్వము మీతో చెప్పి సాక్ష్యమిచ్చిన ప్రకారము ప్రభువు వీటన్నిటి విషయమై ప్రతిదండన చేయువాడు.

6. That no man transgress and overreach his brother and defraud him in this matter or defraud his brother in business. For the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we have already warned you solemnly and told you plainly.

7. పరిశుద్ధులగుటకే దేవుడు మనలను పిలిచెనుగాని అపవిత్రులుగా ఉండుటకు పిలువలేదు.

7. For God has not called us to impurity but to consecration [to dedicate ourselves to the most thorough purity].

8. కాబట్టి ఉపేక్షించువాడు మనుష్యుని ఉపేక్షింపడు గాని మీకు తన పరిశుద్ధాత్మను అనుగ్రహించిన దేవునినే ఉపేక్షించుచున్నాడు.

8. Therefore whoever disregards (sets aside and rejects this) disregards not man but God, Whose [very] Spirit [Whom] He gives to you is holy (chaste, pure).

9. సహోదర ప్రేమనుగూర్చి మీకు వ్రాయనక్కరలేదు; మీరు ఒకని నొకడు ప్రేమించుటకు దేవుని చేతనే నేర్ప బడితిరి.

9. But concerning brotherly love [for all other Christians], you have no need to have anyone write you, for you yourselves have been [personally] taught by God to love one another.

10. ఆలాగుననే మాసిదోనియ యందంతట ఉన్న సహోదరులందరిని మీరు ప్రేమించుచున్నారు. సహో దరులారా, మీరు ప్రేమయందు మరియొక్కువగా అభి వృద్ధినొందుచుండవలెననియు,

10. And indeed you already are [extending and displaying your love] to all the brethren throughout Macedonia. But we beseech and earnestly exhort you, brethren, that you excel [in this matter] more and more,

11. సంఘమునకు వెలుపటివారి యెడల మర్యాదగా నడుచుకొనుచు, మీకేమియు కొదువ లేకుండునట్లు మేము మీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన ప్రకారము మీరు పరులజోలికి పోక,

11. To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you,

12. మీ సొంతకార్యములను జరుపుకొనుట యందును మీ చేతులతో పనిచేయుటయందును ఆశకలిగి యుండవలెననియు, మిమ్మును హెచ్చరించుచున్నాము.

12. So that you may bear yourselves becomingly and be correct and honorable and command the respect of the outside world, being dependent on nobody [self-supporting] and having need of nothing.

13. సహోదరులారా, నిరీక్షణలేని యితరులవలె మీరు దుఃఖపడకుండు నిమిత్తము, నిద్రించుచున్నవారిని గూర్చి మీకు తెలియకుండుట మాకిష్టములేదు.

13. Now also we would not have you ignorant, brethren, about those who fall asleep [in death], that you may not grieve [for them] as the rest do who have no hope [beyond the grave].

14. యేసు మృతి పొంది తిరిగి లేచెనని మనము నమ్మినయెడల, అదే ప్రకారము యేసునందు నిద్రించినవారిని దేవుడాయనతో కూడ వెంటబెట్టుకొని వచ్చును.

14. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him through Jesus those who have fallen asleep [in death].

15. మేము ప్రభువుమాటను బట్టి మీతో చెప్పునదేమనగా, ప్రభువు రాకడవరకు సజీవులమై నిలిచియుండు మనము నిద్రించినవారికంటె ముందుగా ఆయన సన్నిధి చేరము.

15. For this we declare to you by the Lord's [own] word, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall in no way precede [into His presence] or have any advantage at all over those who have previously fallen asleep [in Him in death].

16. ఆర్భాటముతోను, ప్రధానదూతశబ్దముతోను, దేవుని బూరతోను పరలోకమునుండి ప్రభువు దిగివచ్చును; క్రీస్తునందుండి మృతులైన వారు మొదట లేతురు.

16. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first.

17. ఆ మీదట సజీవులమై నిలిచియుండు మనము వారితోకూడ ఏకముగా ప్రభువును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు ఆకాశమండలమునకు మేఘములమీద కొనిపోబడుదుము. కాగా మనము సదాకాలము ప్రభువుతో కూడ ఉందుము.

17. Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

18. కాబట్టి మీరు ఈ మాటలచేత ఒకనినొకడు ఆదరించుకొనుడి.

18. Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.
