1. యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మృతినొందిన తరువాత, యెహోవా నూను కుమారుడును మోషే పరిచారకుడు నైన యెహోషువకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునా సేవకుడైన మోషే మృతినొందెను.

1. After the death of Moshe the servant of ADONAI, ADONAI said to Y'hoshua the son of Nun, Moshe's assistant,

2. కాబట్టి నీవు లేచి, నీవును ఈ జనులందరును ఈ యొర్దానునది దాటి నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కిచ్చుచున్న దేశమునకు వెళ్లుడి.

2. 'Moshe my servant is dead. So now, get up and cross over this Yarden, you and all the people, to the land I am giving to them, the people of Isra'el.

3. నేను మోషేతో చెప్పి నట్లు మీరు అడుగుపెట్టు ప్రతి స్థలమును మీకిచ్చు చున్నాను.

3. I am giving you every place you will step on with the sole of your foot, as I said to Moshe.

4. అరణ్యమును ఈ లెబానోను మొదలుకొని మహానదియైన యూఫ్రటీసు నదివరకును హిత్తీయుల దేశ మంతయు పడమట మహా సముద్రమువరకును మీకు సరిహద్దు.

4. All the land from the desert and the L'vanon to the great river, the Euphrates River- all the land of the Hitti- and on to the Great Sea in the west will be your territory.

5. నీవు బ్రదుకు దినములన్నిటను ఏ మనుష్యుడును నీ యెదుట నిలువలేక యుండును; నేను మోషేకు తోడై యుండినట్లు నీకును తోడైయుందును.

5. No one will be able to withstand you as long as you live. Just as I was with Moshe, so I will be with you. I will neither fail you nor abandon you.

6. నిన్ను విడువను నిన్ను ఎడబాయను, నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యముగా నుండుము. వారికిచ్చెదనని నేను వారి పితరులతో ప్రమాణము చేసిన యీ దేశమును నిశ్చయముగా నీవు ఈ ప్రజల స్వాధీనము చేసెదవు.

6. 'Be strong, be bold; for you will cause this people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers I would give them.

7. అయితే నీవు నిబ్బరముగలిగి జాగ్రత్తపడి బహు ధైర్యముగానుండి, నా సేవకుడైన మోషే నీకు ఆజ్ఞా పించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రమంతటి చొప్పున చేయవలెను. నీవు నడుచు ప్రతి మార్గమున చక్కగా ప్రవర్తించునట్లు నీవు దానినుండి కుడికిగాని యెడమకుగాని తొలగకూడదు.

7. Only be strong and very bold in taking care to follow all the [Torah] which Moshe my servant ordered you to follow; do not turn from it either to the right or to the left; then you will succeed wherever you go.

8. ఈ ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథమును నీవు బోధింపక తప్పిపో కూడదు. దానిలో వ్రాయబడిన వాటన్నిటి ప్రకారము చేయుటకు నీవు జాగ్రత్తపడునట్లు దివారాత్రము దాని ధ్యానించినయెడల నీ మార్గమును వర్ధిల్లజేసికొని చక్కగా ప్రవర్తించెదవు.

8. Yes, keep this book of the [Torah] on your lips, and meditate on it day and night, so that you will take care to act according to everything written in it. Then your undertakings will prosper, and you will succeed.

9. నేను నీ కాజ్ఞయిచ్చియున్నాను గదా, నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యముగా నుండుము, దిగులుపడకుము జడియకుము. నీవు నడుచు మార్గమంతటిలో నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు తోడైయుండును.

9. Haven't I ordered you, 'Be strong, be bold'? So don't be afraid or downhearted, because ADONAI your God is with you wherever you go.'

10. కాగా యెహోషువ ప్రజల నాయకులకు ఈలాగు ఆజ్ఞాపించెనుమీరు పాళెములోనికి పోయి జనులతో ఈ మాట చెప్పుడి

10. Y'hoshua instructed the officials of the people

11. మీరు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనుటకు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీకిచ్చుచున్న దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొనబోవుటకై మూడు దినములలోగా మీరు ఈ యొర్దానును దాటవలెను. గనుక ఆహారమును సిద్ధపరచుకొనుడి.

11. to go through the camp and order the people, 'Prepare provisions, because in three days you will cross this Yarden to go in and take possession of the land ADONAI your God is giving you.'

12. మరియు రూబేనీయులకును గాదీయులకును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపువారికిని యెహోషువ యీలాగు ఆజ్ఞా పించెను.

12. To the Re'uveni, the Gadi and the half-tribe of M'nasheh Y'hoshua said,

13. యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మీ కాజ్ఞా పించిన సంగతి జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుడి, ఎట్లనగా మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవా మీకు విశ్రాంతి కలుగజేయుచున్నాడు; ఆయన ఈ దేశమును మీకిచ్చును.

13. 'Remember what Moshe the servant of ADONAI ordered you: 'ADONAI your God has let you rest and will give you this land.'

14. మీ భార్యలును మీపిల్లలును మీ ఆస్తియు యొర్దాను అవతల మోషే మీకిచ్చిన యీ దేశమున నివసింపవలెనుగాని, పరాక్రమ వంతులును శూరులునైన మీరందరు యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై మీ సహోదరులకు ముందుగా

14. Your wives, your little ones and your livestock will stay in the land Moshe gave you on the east side of the Yarden; but you are to cross over armed as a fighting force ahead of your brothers, to help them;

15. నది దాటి, యెహోవా మీకు దయచేసినట్లు మీ సహోదరులకును విశ్రాంతి దయచేయు వరకు, అనగా మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా వారికిచ్చు దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొనువరకు మీరును సహాయము చేయ వలెను. అప్పుడు తూర్పున యొర్దాను ఇవతల యెహోవా సేవకుడైన మోషే మీకిచ్చిన మీ స్వాస్థ్యమైన దేశమునకు మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చి దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందురు.

15. until ADONAI allows your brothers to rest, as he has allowed you; and they too have taken possession of the land ADONAI your God is giving them. At that point, you will return to the land which is yours and possess it, the land Moshe the servant of ADONAI gave you in 'Ever-HaYarden to the east, toward the sunrise.'

16. అందుకు వారునీవు మా కాజ్ఞాపించినదంతయు మేము చేసెదము, నీవు మమ్ము నెక్కడికి పంపుదువో అక్కడికి పోదుము;

16. They answered Y'hoshua, 'We will do everything you have ordered us to do, and we will go wherever you send us.

17. మోషే చెప్పిన ప్రతిమాట మేము వినినట్లు నీ మాట విందుము; నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మోషేకు తోడైయుండినట్లు నీకును తోడైయుండును గాక.

17. Just as we listened to everything Moshe said, so will we listen to you. Only may ADONAI your God be with you as he was with Moshe.

18. నీమీద తిరుగబడి నీవు వారికి ఆజ్ఞాపించు ప్రతి విషయములో నీ మాట వినని వారందరు మరణశిక్ష నొందుదురు; నీవు నిబ్బరముగలిగి ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనవలెనని యెహోషువకు ఉత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

18. If anyone rebels against your order and doesn't heed what you say in every detail of your order, he will be put to death. Just be strong, be bold!'
