1. ఆ కాలమున ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల భయముచేత ఎవడును వెలుపలికి పోకుండను లోపలికి రాకుండను యెరికోపట్టణ ద్వారము గట్టిగా మూసి వేయబడెను.

1. Jericho was shut up tight as a drum because of the People of Israel: no one going in, no one coming out.

2. అప్పుడు యెహోవా యెహోషువతో ఇట్లనెనుచూడుము; నేను యెరికోను దాని రాజును పరాక్రమముగల శూరులను నీచేతికి అప్పగించుచున్నాను.

2. GOD spoke to Joshua, 'Look sharp now. I've already given Jericho to you, along with its king and its crack troops.

3. మీరందరు యుద్ధసన్న ద్ధులై పట్టణమును ఆవరించి యొకమారు దానిచుట్టు తిరుగ వలెను.

3. Here's what you are to do: March around the city, all your soldiers. Circle the city once. Repeat this for six days.

4. ఆలాగు ఆరు దినములు చేయుచు రావలెను. ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను పట్టుకొని ముందుగా నడువవలెను. ఏడవ దినమున మీరు ఏడు మారులు పట్టణముచుట్టు తిరుగుచుండగా ఆ యాజకులు బూరల నూదవలెను.

4. Have seven priests carry seven ram's horn trumpets in front of the Chest. On the seventh day march around the city seven times, the priests blowing away on the trumpets.

5. మానక ఆ కొమ్ములతో వారు ధ్వని చేయుచుండగా మీరు బూరలధ్వని వినునప్పుడు జను లందరు ఆర్భాటముగా కేకలు వేయవలెను, అప్పుడు ఆ పట్టణ ప్రాకారము కూలును గనుక జనులు తమ యెదుటికి చక్కగా ఎక్కుదురు అనెను.

5. And then, a long blast on the ram's horn--when you hear that, all the people are to shout at the top of their lungs. The city wall will collapse at once. All the people are to enter, every man straight on in.'

6. నూను కుమారు డైన యెహోషువ యాజకులను పిలిపించిమీరు నిబంధన మందసమును ఎత్తికొని మోయుడి; ఏడుగురు యాజకులు యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు పట్టుకొని నడువవలెనని వారితో చెప్పెను.

6. So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and told them, 'Take up the Chest of the Covenant. Seven priests are to carry seven ram's horn trumpets leading GOD's Chest.'

7. మరియు అతడుమీరు సాగి పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొను డనియు, యోధులు యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా నడవవలెననియు ప్రజలతో చెప్పెను.

7. Then he told the people, 'Set out! March around the city. Have the armed guard march before the Chest of GOD.'

8. యెహోషువ ప్రజల కాజ్ఞాపించిన తరువాత ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని పట్టుకొని సాగుచు, ఆ బూరలను ఊదుచుండగా యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును వారివెంట నడిచెను.

8. And it happened. Joshua spoke, the people moved: Seven priests with their seven ram's horn trumpets set out before GOD. They blew the trumpets, leading GOD's Chest of the Covenant.

9. యోధులు బూరల నూదుచున్న యాజకులకు ముందుగా నడిచిరి, దండు వెనుకటి భాగము మందసము వెంబడి వచ్చెను, యాజకులు వెళ్లుచు బూరలను ఊదుచుండిరి.

9. The armed guard marched ahead of the trumpet-blowing priests; the rear guard was marching after the Chest, marching and blowing their trumpets.

10. మరియు యెహోషువమీరు కేకలు వేయుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పు దినమువరకు మీరు కేకలువేయవద్దు. మీ కంఠధ్వని వినబడనీయవద్దు, మీ నోటనుండి యే ధ్వనియు రావలదు, నేను చెప్పునప్పుడే మీరు కేకలు వేయవలెనని జనులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

10. Joshua had given orders to the people, 'Don't shout. In fact, don't even speak--not so much as a whisper until you hear me say, 'Shout!'--then shout away!'

11. He sent the Chest of GOD on its way around the city. It circled once, came back to camp, and stayed for the night.

12. ఉదయమున యెహోషువ లేవగా యాజకులు యెహోవా మందసమును ఎత్తికొని మోసిరి.

12. Joshua was up early the next morning and the priests took up the Chest of GOD.

13. ఏడుగురు యాజకులు పొట్టేలుకొమ్ము బూరలను ఏడు పట్టుకొని, నిలువక యెహోవా మందసమునకు ముందుగా నడుచుచు బూరలు ఊదుచు వచ్చిరి, యోధులు వారికి ముందుగా నడిచిరి, దండు వెనుకటి భాగము యెహోవా మందసము వెంబడివచ్చెను, యాజకులు వెళ్లుచు బూరలు ఊదుచు వచ్చిరి.

13. The seven priests carrying the seven ram's horn trumpets marched before the Chest of GOD, marching and blowing the trumpets, with the armed guard marching before and the rear guard marching after. Marching and blowing of trumpets!

14. అట్లు రెండవదినమున వారొకమారు పట్టణము చుట్టు తిరిగి పాళెమునకు మరల వచ్చిరి. ఆరుదినములు వారు ఆలాగు చేయుచువచ్చిరి.

14. On the second day they again circled the city once and returned to camp. They did this six days.

15. ఏడవ దినమున వారు ఉదయమున చీకటితోనే లేచి యేడుమారులు ఆ ప్రకా రముగానే పట్టణ ముచుట్టు తిరిగిరి; ఆ దినమున మాత్రమే వారు ఏడు మారులు పట్టణముచుట్టు తిరిగిరి

15. When the seventh day came, they got up early and marched around the city this same way but seven times--yes, this day they circled the city seven times.

16. ఏడవమారు యాజకులు బూరలు ఊదగా యెహోషువ జనులకు ఈలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెనుకేకలువేయుడి, యెహోవా ఈ పట్టణమును మీకు అప్పగించుచున్నాడు.

16. On the seventh time around the priests blew the trumpets and Joshua signaled the people, 'Shout!--GOD has given you the city!

17. ఈ పట్టణ మును దీనిలో నున్నది యావత్తును యెహోవా వలన శపింప బడెను. రాహాబు అను వేశ్య మనము పంపిన దూతలను దాచిపెట్టెను గనుక ఆమెయు ఆ యింటనున్న వారంద రును మాత్రమే బ్రదుకుదురు.

17. The city and everything in it is under a holy curse and offered up to GOD. 'Except for Rahab the harlot--she is to live, she and everyone in her house with her, because she hid the agents we sent.

18. శపింపబడినదానిలో కొంచెమైనను మీరు తీసికొనిన యెడల మీరు శాపగ్రస్తులై ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పాళెమునకు శాపము తెప్పించి దానికి బాధ కలుగజేయుదురు గనుక శపింపబడిన దానిని మీరు ముట్టకూడదు.

18. 'As for you, watch yourselves in the city under holy curse. Be careful that you don't covet anything in it and take something that's cursed, endangering the camp of Israel with the curse and making trouble for everyone.

19. వెండియు బంగారును ఇత్తడిపాత్రలును ఇనుపపాత్ర లును యెహోవాకు ప్రతిష్ఠితములగును; వాటిని యెహోవా ధనాగారములో నుంచవలెను.

19. All silver and gold, all vessels of bronze and iron are holy to GOD. Put them in GOD's treasury.'

20. యాజకులు బూరలు ఊదగా ప్రజలు కేకలు వేసిరి. ఆ బూరల ధ్వని వినినప్పుడు ప్రజలు ఆర్భాటముగా కేకలు వేయగా ప్రాకారము కూలెను; ప్రజలందరు తమ యెదుటికి చక్కగా పట్టణ ప్రాకారము ఎక్కి పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనిరి.

20. The priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the blast of the trumpets, they gave a thunderclap shout. The wall fell at once. The people rushed straight into the city and took it.

21. వారు పురుషులనేమి స్త్రీలనేమి చిన్న పెద్దలనందరిని యెద్దులను గొఱ్ఱెలను గాడిదలను ఆ పట్ట ణములోని సమస్తమును కత్తివాత సంహరించిరి.

21. They put everything in the city under the holy curse, killing man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey.

22. అయితే యెహోషువఆ వేశ్యయింటికి వెళ్లి మీరు ఆమెతో ప్రమాణము చేసినట్లు ఆమెను ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని అక్కడనుండి తోడుకొని రండని దేశమును వేగుచూచిన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులతో చెప్పగా

22. Joshua ordered the two men who had spied out the land, 'Enter the house of the harlot and rescue the woman and everyone connected with her, just as you promised her.'

23. వేగులవారైన ఆ మను ష్యులు పోయి రాహా బును ఆమె తండ్రిని ఆమె తల్లిని ఆమె సహోదరులను ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని వెలుపలికి తోడుకొని వచ్చిరి; ఆమె యింటివారినందరిని వారు వెలుపలికి తోడుకొని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పాళెమువెలుపట వారిని నివసింపజేసిరి.

23. So the young spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, mother, and brothers--everyone connected with her. They got the whole family out and gave them a place outside the camp of Israel.

24. అప్పుడు వారు ఆ పట్టణమును దానిలోని సమస్తమును అగ్నిచేత కాల్చివేసిరి; వెండిని బంగారును ఇత్తడి పాత్రలను ఇనుపపాత్రలను మాత్రమే యెహోవా మందిర ధనాగారములో నుంచిరి.

24. But they burned down the city and everything in it, except for the gold and silver and the bronze and iron vessels--all that they put in the treasury of GOD's house.

25. రాహాబను వేశ్య యెరికోను వేగుచూచుటకు యెహో షువ పంపిన దూతలను దాచిపెట్టి యుండెను గనుక అతడు ఆమెను ఆమె తండ్రి యింటివారిని ఆమెకు కలిగినవారినందరిని బ్రదుకనిచ్చెను. ఆమె నేటివరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మధ్య నివసించుచున్నది.

25. But Joshua let Rahab the harlot live--Rahab and her father's household and everyone connected to her. She is still alive and well in Israel because she hid the agents whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

26. ఆ కాలమున యెహోషువ జనులచేత శపథము చేయించి వారికీలాగు ఆజ్ఞాపించెనుఎవడు యెరికో పట్టణమును కట్టించపూనుకొనునో వాడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి శాపగ్రస్తుడగును; వాడు దాని పునాది వేయగా వాని జ్యేష్ఠకుమారుడు చచ్చును; దాని తలుపులను నిలువ నెత్తగా వాని కనిష్ఠకుమారుడు చచ్చును;

26. Joshua swore a solemn oath at that time: Cursed before GOD is the man who sets out to rebuild this city Jericho. He'll pay for the foundation with his firstborn son, he'll pay for the gates with his youngest son.

27. యెహోవా యెహోషువకు తోడై యుండెను గనుక అతని కీర్తి దేశమందంతటను వ్యాపించెను.

27. GOD was with Joshua. He became famous all over the land.
