1. ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులు కూడుకొని ఉత్తరదిక్కునకు పోయినీవు అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయ బోయి నప్పుడు నీతో వచ్చుటకు మమ్ము నేల పిలువ లేదు? నీవు కాపురమున్న నీ యింటిని అగ్నితో కాల్చివేయుదుమని యెఫ్తాతో చెప్పగా

1. And the men of Ephraim gathered them selues together, & went northwarde, & sayd vnto Iephthah: Wherfore wentest thou to fight against the children of Ammon, and dyddest not call vs to go with thee? we will therfore burne thine house vpon thee with fire.

2. యెఫ్తానాకును నా జనులకును అమ్మోనీయులతో గొప్ప కలహము కలిగిన ప్పుడు నేను మిమ్మును పిలిచితిని గాని మీరు వారి చేతులలోనుండి నన్ను రక్షింపలేదు. మీరు నన్ను రక్షింపకపోవుట నేను చూచి

2. And Iephthah sayde vnto them, I & my people were at great stryfe with the children of Ammon: And when I called you, ye deliuered me not out of their handes.

3. నా ప్రాణమును అరచేతిలో ఉంచుకొని అమ్మోనీయు లతో యుద్ధము చేయపోతిని. అప్పుడు యెహోవా వారిని నా చేతి కప్పగించెను గనుక నాతో పోట్లాడుటకు మీరేల నేడు వచ్చితిరనెను.

3. And when I sawe that ye deliuered me not, I put my lyfe in my handes, and went vpon the children of Ammon, and the Lorde deliuered them into my handes: Wherfore then are ye come vppon me nowe, to fight against me?

4. అప్పుడు యెఫ్తా గిలాదువారి నందరిని పోగుచేసికొని ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయగా గిలాదువారు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులను జయించిరి. ఏలయనగా వారుఎఫ్రాయిమీయులకును మనష్షీ యులకును మధ్యను గిలాదువారైన మీరు ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులయెదుట నిలువక పారిపోయిన వారనిరి.

4. Iephthah therfore gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with the Ephraites. And the men of Gilead smote the Ephraites, because they sayd: Ye Gileadites are but runneagates of Ephraim, among the Ephraites and the Manassites.

5. ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై గిలాదువారు యొర్దాను దాటు రేవులను పట్టుకొనగా పారిపోయిన ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులలో ఎవడోనన్ను దాటనియ్యుడని చెప్పినప్పుడు గిలాదువారునీవు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుడవా అని అతని నడి గిరి.

5. Moreouer, the men of Gilead toke the passages of Iordane before the Ephraites: And when those Ephraites that were escaped, said, Let me go ouer: then the men of Gilead sayde vnto hym, Art thou an Ephraite? If he sayde, nay:

6. అందుకతడునేను కాను అనినయెడల వారు అతని చూచిషిబ్బోలెతను శబ్దము పలుకుమనిరి. అతడు అట్లు పలుకనేరక సిబ్బోలెతని పలుకగా వారు అతని పట్టుకొని యొర్దానురేవులయొద్ద చంపిరి. ఆ కాలమున ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులలో నలువది రెండువేలమంది పడి పోయిరి.

6. Then sayde they vnto him: Then say, Schibboleth. And he sayde, Sibboleth: for he coulde not so pronounce. And then they toke him, and slue him at the passages of Iordane: And there were ouerthrowen at that time of the Ephraites fourtie and two thousande.

7. యెఫ్తా ఆరు సంవత్సరములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయాధిపతియై యుండెను. గిలాదువాడైన యెఫ్తా చనిపోయి గిలాదు పట్టణములలో నొకదానియందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

7. And Iephthah iudged Israel six yeres, then died Iephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in [one of] ye cities of Gilead.

8. అతని తరువాత బేత్లెహేమువాడైన ఇబ్సాను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.

8. After this man, iudged Israel one Ibzan of Bethlehem.

9. అతనికి ముప్పదిమంది కుమారులును ముప్పదిమంది కుమార్తెలును ఉండిరి. అతడు ఆ కుమార్తెలను తన వంశమున చేరనివారికిచ్చి, తన వంశ మునకు చేరని ముప్పది మంది కన్యలను తన కుమారులకు పెండ్లి చేసెను. అతడు ఏడేండ్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధి పతిగా నుండెను.

9. And he had thirtie sonnes and thirtie daughters, whom he sent out, and toke in thirtie daughters from abrode for his sonnes. And when Ibzan had iudged Israel seuen yere,

10. ఇబ్సాను చనిపోయి బేత్లెహేములో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

10. He died, & was buried at Bethlehem.

11. అతని తరువాత జెబూలూనీయుడైన ఏలోను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను; అతడు పదియేండ్లు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతిగానుండెను.

11. After him, Elon a Zabulonite iudged Israel ten yeres.

12. జెబూలూనీయుడైన ఏలోను చనిపోయి జెబూలూను దేశమందలి అయ్యాలో నులో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

12. And Elon the Zabulonite died, & was buried in Aialon, in the countrey of Zabulon.

13. అతని తరువాత పిరాతోనీయుడైన హిల్లేలు కుమారు డగు అబ్దోను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.

13. After him, Abdon the sonne of Hellel, a Pharathonite, iudged Israel.

14. అతనికి నలువదిమంది కుమారులును ముప్పదిమంది మనుమ లును ఉండిరి. వారు డెబ్బది గాడిదపిల్లల నెక్కి తిరుగు వారు. అతడు ఎనిమిదేండ్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధిపతిగా నుండెను.

14. And he had fourtie sonnes, and thirtie neuewes, that rode on threscore and ten asse coltes: And when Abdon the sonne of Hellel the Pharathonite had iudged Israel eight yeres,

15. పిరాతోనీయుడైన హిల్లేలు కుమారుడగు అబ్దోను చనిపోయి ఎఫ్రాయిము దేశమందలి అమాలేకీ యుల మన్యము లోనున్న పిరాతోనులో పాతిపెట్ట బడెను.

15. He died, & was buryed in Pharathon in the lande of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
