1. అప్పుడు యెరుబ్బయలు, అనగా గిద్యోనును అతనితో నున్న జనులందరును, వేకువను లేచి హరోదు బావియొద్ద దిగగా లోయలోని మోరె కొండకు ఉత్తరముగా మిద్యా నీయుల దండుపాళెము వారికి కనబడెను.

1. Then Jerubbaal, the same, is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and encamped by the fountain of Harod, and, the camp of Midian, was on the north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the vale.

2. యెహోవానీతో నున్న జనులు ఎక్కువ మంది, నేను వారిచేతికి మిద్యానీయులను అప్పగింపతగదు; ఇశ్రాయేలీయులునా బాహుబలము నాకు రక్షణ కలుగచేసికొనెననుకొని నామీద అతిశయించుదురేమో.

2. And Yahweh said unto Gideon, Too many, are the people that are with thee, for me to deliver the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand, hath saved me.

3. కాబట్టి నీవుఎవడు భయపడి వణకుచున్నాడో వాడు త్వరపడి గిలాదు కొండ విడిచి తిరిగి వెళ్లవలెనని జనులు వినునట్లుగా ప్రకటించు మని గిద్యోనుతో సెలవిచ్చెను. అప్పుడు జనులలోనుండి ఇరువది రెండువేలమంది తిరిగి వెళ్లి పోయిరి.

3. Now, therefore, proclaim, I pray thee, in the ears of the people, saying, Whoso feareth and trembleth�let him turn and go hack from Mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty-two thousand, and, ten thousand, remained.

4. పదివేలమంది నిలిచియుండగా యెహోవాఈ జను లింక ఎక్కువమంది, నీళ్లయొద్దకు వారిని దిగజేయుము, అక్కడ నీకొరకు వారిని శోధించెదను. ఇతడు నీతో కూడ పోవలెనని నేను ఎవనిగూర్చి చెప్పు దునో వాడు నీతో పోవలెను; ఇతడు నీతో పోకూడదని యెవనిగూర్చి నీతో చెప్పుదునో వాడు పోకూడదని గిద్యోనుతో సెల విచ్చెను.

4. Then said Yahweh unto Gideon�Yet, are the people too many, take them down unto the waters, that I may prove them for thee, there, and it shall be, that, he of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall go with thee, the same, shall go with thee, and, every one of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall not go with thee, the same, shall not go.

5. అతడు నీళ్లయొద్దకు ఆ జనమును దిగజేసినప్పుడు యెహోవాకుక్కగతుకునట్లు తన నాలుకతో నీళ్లను గతికిన ప్రతివానిని, త్రాగుటకుమోకాళ్లూని క్రుంగిన ప్రతి వానిని వేరువేరుగా ఉంచుమని గిద్యోనుతో సెలవిచ్చెను.

5. So he took down the people unto the waters, and Yahweh said unto Gideon�Every one that lappeth with his tongue of the water, as a dog lappeth, thou shalt set him by himself, likewise, every one that boweth down upon his knees, to drink.

6. చేతితో నోటికందించుకొని గతికినవారిలెక్క మూడు వందల మంది; మిగిలిన జనులందరు నీళ్లు త్రాగుటకు మోకాళ్లూని క్రుంగిరి.

6. And so it was, that, the number of them that lapped with their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men, but, all the rest of the people, bowed down on their knees, to drink water.

7. అప్పుడు యెహోవాగతికిన మూడు వందల మనుష్యులద్వారా మిమ్మును రక్షించెదను; మిద్యానీయులను నీ చేతికి అప్పగించెదను; జనులందరు తమ తమ చోట్లకు వెళ్లవచ్చునని గిద్యోనుతో సెలవిచ్చెను.

7. Then said Yahweh unto Gideon�By the three hundred men that lapped, will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thy hand; and let, all the rest of the people, go every man to his own place.

8. ప్రజలు ఆహారమును బూరలను పట్టుకొనగా అతడు ప్రజలందరిని తమ గుడారములకు వెళ్లనంపెను గాని ఆ మూడువందల మందిని నిలుపుకొనెను. మిద్యానీయుల దండు లోయలో అతనికి దిగువగా నుండెను.

8. So the people took provisions in their hand, and their horns, but, every man of Israel besides, sent he away every man to his home, whereas, the three hundred men, he retained. Now, the camp of Midian, was beneath him in the vale.

9. ఆ రాత్రి యెహోవా అతనితో ఇట్లనెనునీవు లేచి దండుమీదికి పొమ్ము, నీ చేతికి దాని నప్పగించెదను.

9. And it came to pass, on that night, that Yahweh said unto him, Arise! go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into thy hand.

10. పోవుటకు నీకు భయమైనయెడల నీ పనివాడైన పూరాతో కూడ దండుకు దిగిపొమ్ము.

10. Or, if, thou, art afraid to go down, go down�thou and Purah thy young man, unto the camp;

11. వారు చెప్పు కొనుచున్న దానిని వినిన తరువాత నీవు ఆ దండు లోనికి దిగిపోవుటకు నీ చేతులు బలపరచబడునని చెప్పగా, అతడును అతని పని వాడైన పూరాయును ఆ దండులోనున్న సన్నద్ధుల యొద్దకు పోయిరి.

11. so shalt thou hear what they shall say, and, afterward, shall thy hands grow strong, and thou shalt go down against the camp. Then went he down, he and Purah his young man, unto the outmost part of the armed men that were in the camp.

12. మిద్యానీయులును అమాలేకీయులును తూర్పువారును లెక్కకు మిడతలవలె ఆ మైదానములో పరుండి యుండిరి. వారి ఒంటెలు సముద్రతీరమందున్న యిసుక రేణువులవలె లెక్కలేనివై యుండెను.

12. Now, the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east, were lying along in the vale, like locusts for multitude, their camels also, were without number, as the sand that is by the sea side, for multitude.

13. గిద్యోను వచ్చినప్పుడు ఒకడు తాను కనిన కలను తన చెలికానికి వివరించుచుండెను. ఎట్లనగానేనొక కలగంటిని, అదే మనగా యవలరొట్టె ఒకటి మిద్యానీయుల దండులోనికి దొర్లి యొక గుడారమునకు వచ్చి దాని పడగొట్టి తల క్రిందు చేసినప్పుడు ఆ గుడారము పడిపోయెనని చెప్పెను.

13. And Gideon came in, and lo! a man relating to his neighbour a dream, and he said�Lo! a dream, have I dreamt, and lo! a round cake of barley bread tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came as far as the tent�and smote it that it fell, and turned it upside down, and the tent lay along.

14. అందుకు వాని చెలికాడు అది ఇశ్రాయేలీయు డైన యోవాషు కుమారుడగు గిద్యోను ఖడ్గమేగాని మరేమికాదు; దేవుడు మిద్యానీయులను ఈ దండంతను అతని చేతికి అప్పగింప బోవుచున్నాడని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

14. Then responded his neighbour and said:�Nothing else, is this, than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel, God hath delivered into his hand, both Midian and all the host.

15. గిద్యోను ఆ కల వివరమును దాని తాత్పర్యమును విని నప్పుడు అతడు యెహోవాకు నమస్కారము చేసి ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల దండులోనికి తిరిగి వెళ్లిలెండి, యెహోవా మిద్యానీయుల దండును మీ చేతికి అప్ప గించుచున్నాడని చెప్పి

15. And it was so, when Gideon heard the story of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he bowed himself down, and returned unto the camp of Israel, and said�Arise! for Yahweh hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

16. ఆ మూడువందలమందిని మూడు గుంపులుగా చేసి బూరను వట్టికుండను ఆ కుండలలో దివిటీలను ప్రతివాని చేతికిచ్చి వారితో ఇట్లనెను-నన్ను చూచి నేను చేయునట్లు చేయుడి;

16. And he divided the three hundred men, into three companies, and put horns into the hands of them all, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.

17. ఇదిగో నేను వారి దండు కొట్టకొనకు పోవుచున్నాను, నేను చేయునట్లు మీరు చేయవలెను.

17. Then he said unto them, On me, shall ye look, and, in like manner, shall ye do, and lo! when I am coming unto the outermost part of the camp, then shall it be, that, as I do, so, shall ye do.

18. నేనును నాతో నున్నవారందరును బూరలను ఊదునప్పుడు మీరును దండు పాళెమంతటిచుట్టు బూరలను ఊదుచుయెహోవాకును గిద్యోనుకును విజయము అని కేకలు వేయ వలెనని చెప్పెను.

18. When I shall blow with the horn, I and all who are with me, then shall, ye also, round about all the camp, blow with your horns, and shall say, For Yahweh and for Gideon!

19. అట్లు నడిజాము మొదటి కావలివారు ఉంచబడగానే గిద్యోనును అతనితోనున్న నూరుమందియు దండుపాళెము కొట్టకొనకు పోయి బూరలను ఊది తమ చేతులలోనున్న కుండలను పగులగొట్టిరి.

19. So Gideon came, and the hundred men that were with him, unto the outermost part of the camp, at the beginning of the middle watch, they had but, newly set, the watchers, and they blew with the horns, and brake in pieces the pitchers, that were in their hand.

20. అట్లు ఆ మూడు గుంపులవారు బూరలను ఊదుచు ఆ కుండలను పగులగొట్టి, యెడమచేతు లలో దివిటీలను కుడిచేతులలో ఊదుటకు బూరలను పట్టుకొనియెహోవా ఖడ్గము గిద్యోను ఖడ్గము అని కేకలువేసిరి.

20. Yea the three companies blew with the horns, and shivered the pitchers, and caught hold�with their left hands�of the torches, while, in their right hands, were the horns, to blow with, and they cried, A sword for Yahweh, and for Gideon!

21. వారిలో ప్రతివాడును తన చోటున దండు చుట్టు నిలిచియుండగా ఆ దండువారందరును పరుగెత్తుచు కేకలు వేయుచు పారిపోయిరి.

21. And they stood still, every man in his place, round about the camp, and all the host ran and shouted, and fled.

22. ఆ మూడువందలమంది బూరలను ఊదినప్పుడు యెహోవా దండంతటిలోను ప్రతి వాని ఖడ్గమును వాని పొరుగువాని మీదికి త్రిప్పెను. దండు సెరేరాతువైపున నున్న బేత్షిత్తావరకు తబ్బాతునొద్ద నున్న ఆబేల్మెహోలా తీరమువరకు పారిపోగా

22. When the three hundred blew the horns, Yahweh set the sword of every man, against his neighbour, and against all the host, and the host fled, as far as the Place of Acacias, towards Zererath, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath.

23. నఫ్తాలి గోత్రములోనుండియు, ఆషేరు గోత్రములోనుండియు, మనష్షే గోత్రమంతటిలోనుండియు పిలిపింపబడిన ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు కూడుకొని మిద్యానీయులను తరిమిరి.

23. And the men of Israel were called together, out of Naphtali and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued Midian.

24. గిద్యోను ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుల మన్యదేశమంతటికిని దూత లను పంపిమిద్యానీయులను ఎదుర్కొనుటకు వచ్చి, బేత్బారావరకు వాగులను యొర్దానును వారికంటెముందుగా పట్టుకొనుడని చెప్పియుండెను గనుక, ఎఫ్రాయిమీయు లందరు కూడుకొని బేత్బారా వరకు వాగులను యొర్దానును పట్టుకొనిరి.

24. And, messengers, did Gideon send through all the hill country of Ephraim, saying�Go down to meet Midian, and capture, before them, the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan. So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and captured the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan.

25. మరియు వారు మిద్యాను అధిపతులైన ఓరేబు జెయేబు అను ఇద్దరిని పట్టుకొని, ఓరేబు బండమీద ఓరేబును చంపిరి, జెయేబు ద్రాక్షల తొట్టియొద్ద జెయేబునుచంపి మిద్యానీయులను తరుముకొనిపోయిరి. ఓరేబు జెయేబుల తలలను యొర్దాను అవతలికి గిద్యోనునొద్దకు తెచ్చిరి.

25. And they captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb at Oreb's Rock, and, Zeeb, they slew at Zeeb's Winepress, and pursued Midian, and, the heads of Oreb and Zeeb, brought they in unto Gideon at the ford of the Jordan.
