1. అప్పుడు సమూయేలు తైలపు బుడ్డి పట్టుకొని సౌలు తలమీద తైలముపోసి అతని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనియెహోవా నిన్ను అభిషేకించి తన స్వాస్థ్యముమీద అధిపతిగా నియమించియున్నాడు అని చెప్పి యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. And the Samuel toke a vessell of oyle, and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and sayd: Hath not the Lord annoynted thee, to be captaine ouer his inheritaunce?

2. ఈ దినమున నీవు నా యొద్దనుండి పోయిన తరువాత బెన్యామీను సరిహద్దులో సెల్సహులోనుండు రాహేలు సమాధిదగ్గర ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులు నీకు కనబడు దురు. వారునీవు వెదకబోయిన గార్దభములు దొరికినవి, నీ తండ్రి తన గార్దభములకొరకు చింతింపక నా కుమా రుని కనుగొనుటకై నేనేమి చేతునని నీకొరకు విచారపడు చున్నాడని చెప్పుదురు.

2. When thou art departed from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in ye border of Beniamin, euen at Zalezah, and they wil say vnto thee, ye asses which thou wetest to seke, are found: And lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, & soroweth for you, saying: what shal I do for my sonne?

3. తరువాత నీవు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి తాబోరు మైదానమునకు రాగానే అక్కడ బేతేలునకు దేవునియొద్దకు పోవు ముగ్గురు మనుష్యులు నీకు ఎదురుపడుదురు; ఒకడు మూడు మేకపిల్లలను, ఒకడు మూడు రొట్టెలను, ఇంకొకడు ద్రాక్షారసపు తిత్తిని మోయుచు వత్తురు.

3. Then shalt thou go foorth fro thence, & shalt come to the playne of Thabor, and ther shal meete thee three me going vp to God to Bethel, one carying three kiddes, & another carying three loues of bread, & another carying a botel of wine.

4. వారు నిన్ను కుశలప్రశ్నలడిగి నీకు రెండు రొట్టెలు ఇత్తురు. అవి వారిచేత నీవు తీసి కొనవలెను.

4. And they wil salute thee and geue thee two loues of bread, which thou shalt receaue of their handes.

5. ఈలాగున పోవుచు ఫిలిష్తీయుల దండు కాపువారుండు దేవుని కొండకు చేరుదువు, అచ్చట ఊరిదగ్గరకు నీవు రాగానే, స్వరమండలము తంబుర సన్నాయి సితారా వాయించువారి వెనుక ఉన్నతమైన స్థలమునుండి దిగివచ్చు ప్రవక్తల సమూహము నీకు కనబడును, వారు ప్రకటనచేయుచు వత్తురు;

5. After that, shalt thou come to the hil of God, wher is the garison of the Philistines: And when thou art come thyther to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of prophetes comming downe fro the hyghe place, with a psalter, a timbrell, a pype, & a harpe before them, and they shal prophesie.

6. యెహోవా ఆత్మ నీమీదికి బలముగా దిగివచ్చును; నీవు వారితో కలిసి ప్రకటన చేయుచుండగా నీకు క్రొత్త మనస్సువచ్చును.

6. And the spirite of the Lorde wil come vpon thee also, and thou shalt prophsie with them, & shalt be turned into another man.

7. దెవుడు తోడుగా నుండును గనుక ఈ సూచనలు నీకు సంభవించిన తరువాత నీకు మంచిదని తోచినదాని చేయుము.

7. Therfore when these signes are come vnto thee, do what thou hast to do, for God is with thee.

8. నాకంటె ముందు నీవు గిల్గాలునకు వెళ్లగా, దహనబలులను బలులను సమాధాన బలులను అర్పించుటకై నేను నీయొద్దకు దిగి వత్తును; నేను నీయొద్దకు వచ్చి నీవు చేయవలసినదానిని నీకు తెలియజేయువరకు ఏడు దినముల పాటు నీవు అచ్చట నిలువవలెను.

8. And thou shalt go downe before me to Gilgal, and I also will come downe vnto thee to sacrifice burnt sacrifices, & to offre peace offringes: Tary for me seuen dayes till I come to thee, & shewe thee what thou shalt do.

9. అతడు సమూ యేలునొద్దనుండి వెళ్లిపోవుటకై తిరుగగా దేవుడు అతనికి క్రొత్త మనస్సు అనుగ్రహించెను. ఆ దినముననే ఆ సూచనలు కనబడెను.

9. And when he had turned his backe to go fro Samuel, God gaue him another hearte, and all those tokens came to passe that same day.

10. వారు ఆ కొండదగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు ప్రవక్తల సమూ హము అతనికి ఎదురుపడగా దేవుని ఆత్మ బలముగా అతని మీదికి వచ్చెను. అతడు వారి మధ్యను ఉండి ప్రకటన చేయుచుండెను.

10. And when they came thyther to the hill, beholde, the companie of prophetes met him, and the spirite of God came vpon him, & he prophecied among the.

11. పూర్వము అతని నెరిగినవారందరు అతడు ప్రవక్తలతో కూడనుండి ప్రకటించుట చూచికీషు కుమారునికి సంభవించిన దేమిటి? సౌలును ప్రవక్తలలో నున్నాడా? అని ఒకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొనగా

11. And all that knewe him before, when they sawe that he prophecied among the prophetes, they sayd eche to other: what is this that is come vnto the sonne of Cis? Is Saul also among the prophetes?

12. ఆ స్థల మందుండు ఒకడువారి తండ్రి యెవడని యడిగెను. అందుకు సౌలును ప్రవక్తలలో నున్నాడా? అను సామెత పుట్టెను.

12. And one of the same place aunswered, and sayde: Who is their father? And therof came ye prouerbe: What is Saul also among the prophetes?

13. అంతట అతడు ప్రకటించుట చాలించి ఉన్నత స్థలమునకు వచ్చెను.

13. And whe he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hyghe place.

14. సౌలుయొక్క పినతండ్రి అతనిని అతని పనివానిని చూచిమీరిద్దరు ఎక్కడికి పోతిరని అడుగగా అతడు గార్దభములను వెదకబోతివిు; అవి కనబడక పోగా సమూయేలునొద్దకు పోతిమని చెప్పినప్పుడు

14. And Sauls vncle sayde vnto him, and to his lad: Whyther went ye? He sayde, To seke the asses: And when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.

15. సౌలు పిన తండ్రిసమూయేలు నీతో చెప్పిన సంగతి నాతో చెప్పుమని అతనితో అనగా

15. And Sauls vncle sayde: Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel sayd vnto you?

16. సౌలుగార్దభములు దొరికినవని అతడు చెప్పెనని తన పినతండ్రితో అనెను గాని రాజ్య మునుగూర్చి సమూయేలు చెప్పిన మాటను తెలుపలేదు.

16. Saul aunswered his vncle: He tolde vs plainely that the asses were found. But of ye kingdome wherof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.

17. తరువాత సమూయేలు మిస్పాకు యెహోవా యొద్దకు జనులను పిలువనంపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లనెను

17. And Samuel called the people together vnto the Lorde to Mispah,

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఈలాగున సెల విచ్చుచున్నాడునేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులైన మిమ్మును ఐగుపు ్త దేశములోనుండి రప్పించి ఐగుప్తీయుల వశములో నుండియు, మిమ్మును బాధపెట్టిన జనములన్నిటి వశములో నుండియు విడిపించితిని.

18. And sayd vnto the children of Israel: Thus sayde the Lorde God of Israel, I brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of al kingdomes that troubled you.

19. అయినను మీ దుర్దశలన్నిటిని ఉపద్రవము లన్నిటిని పోగొట్టి మిమ్మును రక్షించిన మీ దేవుని మీరు ఇప్పుడు విసర్జించిమామీద ఒకని రాజుగా నియమింపుమని ఆయనను అడిగియున్నారు. కాబట్టి యిప్పుడు మీ గోత్రముల చొప్పునను మీ కుటుంబముల చొప్పునను మీరు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని హాజరు కావలెను.

19. And ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of al your aduersities and tribulations. And ye haue sayd vnto him: No, but make a king ouer vs. Nowe therfore stande ye before the Lorde by your tribes, & your thousandes.

20. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిని సమూయేలు సమకూర్చగా బెన్యామీను గోత్రము ఏర్పడెను.

20. And when Samuel had assembled together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.

21. బెన్యామీను గోత్రమును వారి యింటి కూటముల ప్రకారము అతడు సమకూర్చగా మథ్రీ యింటి కూటము ఏర్పడెను. తరువాత కీషు కుమారుడైన సౌలు ఏర్పడెను. అయితే జనులు అతని వెదకినప్పుడు అతడు కనబడలేదు.

21. When he had assembled together the tribe of Beniamin by their kinredes, the kinred of Matri was caught, and at the last Saul the sonne of Cis was caught: And when they sought him, he coulde not be founde.

22. కావున వారుఇక్కడికి ఇంకొక మనుష్యుడు రావలసి యున్నదా అని యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయగా యెహోవాఇదిగో అతడు సామానులో దాగియున్నాడని సెలవిచ్చెను.

22. Therfore they asked the Lord further, if the man should yet come thyther? And the Lord aunswered: Behold he hath hyd him selfe among the stuffe.

23. వారు పరుగెత్తిపోయి అక్కడనుండి అతని తోడుకొనివచ్చిరి; అతడు జనసమూహములో నిలిచి నప్పుడు భుజములు మొదలుకొని పైకి ఇతరులకంటె ఎత్తుగలవాడుగా కనబడెను.

23. And they ranne and set him thence, and when he stoode among the people, he was hygher then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.

24. అప్పుడు సమూయేలుజనులందరిలో యెహోవా ఏర్పరచినవానిని మీరు చూచి తిరా? జనులందరిలో అతనివంటివాడొకడును లేడని చెప్పగా, జనులందరు బొబ్బలు పెట్టుచురాజు చిరంజీవి యగుగాక అని కేకలువేసిరి.

24. And Samuel said to al the people: See ye not him whom the Lorde hath chosen, and howe there is none lyke him among all the people? And all the people showted, and sayd: God saue the king.

25. తరువాత సమూయేలు రాజ్యపాలనపద్ధతిని జనులకు వినిపించి, ఒక గ్రంథమందు వ్రాసి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని దాని నుంచెను. అంతట సమూయేలు జనులందరిని వారి వారి ఇండ్లకు పంపివేసెను.

25. Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, & wrote it in a booke, and laide it vp before the Lord, and sent all the people away, euery man to his house.

26. సౌలును గిబియాలోని తన ఇంటికి వెళ్లిపోయెను. దేవునిచేత హృదయ ప్రేరేపణ నొందిన శూరులు అతని వెంట వెళ్లిరి.

26. And Saul also went home to Gibea, and there folowed him a band of men, whose heartes God had touched.

27. పనికిమాలినవారు కొందరుఈ మనుష్యుడు మనలను ఏలాగు రక్షింపగలడని చెప్పుకొనుచు అతని నిర్లక్ష్యము చేసి అతనికి కానుకలు తీసికొని రాకుండగా అతడు చెవిటివాడైనట్టు ఊర కుండెను.

27. But the children of Belial sayd: Howe shall he saue vs? And they despised him, and, brought him no presentes: And he helde his tongue.
