1. దావీదును అతని జనులును మూడవ దినమందు సిక్లగునకు వచ్చిరి; అంతలో అమాలేకీయులు దండెత్తి దక్షిణ దేశముమీదను సిక్లగుమీదను పడి, కొట్టి దానిని తగులబెట్టి,

1. But when Dauid and his men were come to Ziklag the third day, the Amalekites had inuaded vppon the south, euen vnto Ziklag, and had smitten Ziklag, and burnt it with fyre.

2. ఘనులనేమి అల్పులనేమి అందులోనున్న ఆడువారందరిని చెరపట్టుకొని చంపక వారిని తీసికొని వెళ్లిపోయి యుండిరి.

2. And had taken the women that were therein prisoners, both small and great: but slue not a man, saue carryed them away, and went their wayes.

3. దావీదును అతని జనులును పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి అది కాల్చబడియుండుటయు, తమ భార్యలును కుమారులును కుమార్తెలును చెరలోనికి కొని పోబడి యుండుటయు చూచి

3. So Dauid and his men came to the citie, and beholde it was burnt with fyre: and their wiues, their sonnes, and their daughters were taken prisoners.

4. ఇక ఏడ్చుటకు శక్తిలేక పోవునంత బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్చిరి.

4. Then Dauid & the people that were with him, lift vp their voyces and wept, vntill they could weepe no more.

5. యజ్రెయేలీయురాలైన అహీనోయము, కర్మెలీయుడైన నాబాలు భార్యయయిన అబీగయీలు అను దావీదు ఇద్దరు భార్యలును చెరలోనికి కొనిపోబడగా చూచి

5. And Dauids two wiues were taken prisoners also, Ahinoam the Iezrahelite, and Abigail the wyfe of Nabal the Carmelite.

6. దావీదు మిక్కిలి దుఃఖపడెను. మరియు తమ తమ కుమారులను బట్టియు కుమార్తెలను బట్టియు జనులకందరికి ప్రాణము విసికినందున రాళ్లు రువి్వ దావీదును చంపుదము రండని వారు చెప్పు కొనగా దావీదు తన దేవుడైన యెహోవానుబట్టి ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనెను.

6. And Dauid was in great cumbraunce: For the people entended to stone him, because the heartes of all ye people were vexed euery man for his sonnes and for his daughters: But Dauid toke a good courage to him in the Lorde his God,

7. పమ్మట దావీదుఏఫోదు తెమ్మని యాజ కుడగు అహీమెలెకు కుమారుడైన అబ్యాతారుతో చెప్పగా అబ్యాతారు ఏఫోదును దావీదు నొద్దకు తీసికొనివచ్చెను.

7. And sayde to Abiathar the priest Ahimelechs sonne: I pray thee, bring me the Ephod. And Abiathar brought the Ephod to Dauid.

8. నేను ఈ దండును తరిమినయెడల దాని కలిసికొందునా అని యెహోవా యొద్ద దావీదు విచారణచేయగా యెహోవాతరుము, నిశ్చయముగా నీవు వారిని కలిసికొని తప్పక నీవారినందరిని దక్కించుకొందువని సెల విచ్చెను.

8. And Dauid asked councel at the Lord, saying: Shall I follow after this company? shall I ouertake them? And he aunswered him: Folowe, for thou shalt suerlie ouertake them, and recouer all.

9. కాబట్టి దావీదు అతనియొద్దనున్న ఆరువందల మంది యును బయలుదేరి బెసోరు వాగుగట్టుకు రాగా వారిలో రెండువందల మంది వెనుక దిగవిడువబడిరి.

9. So Dauid and the sixe hundred men that were with him, went and came to the ryuer Befor, where a parte of them abode.

10. దావీదును నాలుగువందల మందియును ఇంక తరుముచు పోయిరి గాని ఆ రెండువందల మంది అలసట పడి బెసోరు వాగు దాటలేక ఆగిరి. ఆ నాలుగు వందలమంది పోవు చుండగా

10. But Dauid and foure hundred men folowed: (For two hundred abode behinde, being to weery to go ouer the ryuer Befor)

11. పొలములో ఒక ఐగుప్తీయుడు కనబడెను. వారు దావీదునొద్దకు వాని తోడుకొనివచ్చి, వాడు మూడు రాత్రింబగళ్లు అన్నపానము లేమియు పుచ్చు కొనలేదని తెలిసికొని, వానికి భోజనము పెట్టి దాహమిచ్చి అంజూరపు అడలోని ముక్కను రెండు ద్రాక్షగెలలను వానికిచ్చిరి.

11. And they founde an Egyptian in the fielde, and brought him to Dauid, and gaue him bread, & he did eate, and water to drinke.

12. వాడు భోజనము చేసిన తరువాత వాని ప్రాణము తెప్పరిల్లగా

12. And gaue him a fewe fygges, and two clusters of reasinges: And when he had eaten, his spirite came againe to him: For he had eaten no bread nor druncke any water in three dayes and three nightes.

13. దావీదు నీవు ఏ దేశపువాడవు? ఎక్కడనుండి వచ్చితివని వాని నడిగెను. అందుకు వాడునేను ఐగుప్తీయుడనై పుట్టి అమాలేకీయుడైన యొకనికి దాసుడనైతిని; మూడు దినముల క్రిందట నేను కాయిలా పడగా నా యజమానుడు నన్ను విడిచిపెట్టి పోయెను.

13. And Dauid said vnto him: To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? He sayd: I am a young man of Egypt, and seruaunt to an Amalekite, and my maister left me, because three dayes agone I fell sicke.

14. మేము దండెత్తి కెరేతీయుల దక్షిణ దేశమునకును యూదా దేశమునకును కాలేబు దక్షిణ దేశమునకును వచ్చి వాటిని దోచుకొని సిక్లగును కాల్చివేసితిమని చెప్పెను.

14. We came a rouyng vpon the south of Chretus, and vpon the [coast] belonging to Iuda, and toward the south of Caleb, and we burnt Ziklag with fyre.

15. ఆ దండును కలిసికొనుటకై నీవు నాకు దోవచూపుదువా అని దావీదు వాని నడుగగా వాడునేను నిన్ను చంపననియు నీ యజమానుని వశము చేయననియు దేవునిబట్టి నీవు నాకు ప్రమాణము చేసినయెడల ఆ దండును కలిసి కొనుటకు నీకు దోవచూపుదుననెను.

15. And Dauid saide to him: Canst thou bring me to this company? And he said: Sweare vnto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliuer me into the handes of my maister, and I will bring thee to this company.

16. తరువాత వాడు వారి దగ్గరకు దావీదును నడిపింపగా, ఫిలిష్తీయుల దేశము లోనుండియు యూదా దేశములోనుండియు తాముదోచి తెచ్చికొనిన సొమ్ముతో తులదూగుచు, వారు ఆ ప్రదేశమంతట చెదిరి అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనుచు ఆటపాటలు సలుపుచుండిరి.

16. And when he had brought him thyther, beholde they laye scattered abrode vpon all the earth, eating, and drynking, & daunsing, because of al the great praye that they had carried away out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Iuda.

17. దావీదు సంగతిని గ్రహించి సంధ్యవేళ మొదలుకొని మరునాటి సాయంత్రమువరకు వారిని హతము చేయుచుండగా, ఒంటెలమీద ఎక్కిపారి పోయిన నాలుగువందల మంది ¸యౌవనులు తప్ప తప్పించుకొనినవాడు ఒకడును లేకపోయెను.

17. And Dauid layde vpon them from the twylight, euen vnto the euening of the next morowe: so that there escaped not a man of them, saue foure hundred young men which rode vpon cammels, and fled.

18. ఈలాగున దావీదు అమాలేకీయులు దోచుకొని పోయిన దానంతటిని తిరిగి తెచ్చుకొనెను. మరియు అతడు తన యిద్దరు భార్యలను రక్షించెను.

18. And Dauid recouered all that the Amalekites had carryed away, and Dauid rescued his two wyues:

19. కుమారులేమి కుమార్తెలేమి దోపుడు సొమ్మేమి వారు ఎత్తికొనిపోయిన దానంతటిలో కొద్దిదేమి గొప్పదేమి యేదియు తక్కువకాకుండ దావీదు సమస్తమును రక్షించెను.

19. So that there was nothing lacking to them, small or great, sonne or daughter, or of the spoyle of all that they had taken away, Dauid recouered them all.

20. మరియు దావీదు అమాలేకీయుల గొఱ్ఱెలన్నిటిని గొడ్లన్నిటిని పట్టుకొనెను. ఇవి దావీదునకు దోపుడు సొమ్మని జనులు మిగిలిన తమ స్వంత పశువులకు ముందుగా వీటిని తోలిరి.

20. And Dauid tooke all the sheepe, and the oxen, and they draue them before his cattaile, and saide: This is Dauids pray.

21. అలసటచేత దావీ దును వెంబడించలేక బెసోరు వాగు దగ్గర నిలిచిన ఆ రెండువందల మందియొద్దకు దావీదు పోగా వారు దావీ దును అతనియొద్దనున్న జనులను ఎదుర్కొనుటకై బయలు దేరి వచ్చిరి. దావీదు ఈ జనులయొద్దకు వచ్చి వారి యోగక్షేమమడుగగా

21. And Dauid came to the two hundred men, that were to weery for to folowe Dauid, whom they had made also to abyde at the ryuer Befor: And they came to meete Dauid & the people that were with him: And when Dauid came to the people, he saluted them.

22. దావీదుతోకూడ వెళ్లినవారిలో దుర్మార్గులును, పనికి మాలినవారునైన కొందరువీరు మనతోకూడ రాక నిలిచిరి గనుక తమ భార్యలను పిల్లలను తప్ప మనకు మరల వచ్చిన దోపుడు స ొమ్ములో మన మేమియు వీరికియ్యము; తమ భార్య పిల్లలను వారు తీసికొని పోవచ్చుననిరి.

22. Then aunswered all the wicked and the vnthryftes of the men that went with Dauid, and saide: Because they went not with vs, therfore wil we geue them none of the pray that we haue recouered: But let euery man take his wife and his children, those let them carry away and departe.

23. అందుకు దావీదు వారితో ఇట్లనెనునా సహోదరు లారా, యెహోవా మనలను కాపాడి మనమీదికి వచ్చిన యీ దండును మనకప్పగించి మనకు దయచేసిన దాని విషయములో మీరు ఈలాగున చేయ కూడదు.

23. Then sayd Dauid: Ye shall not do so my brethren with that which the Lord hath geuen vs, who hath preserued vs, and delyuered the company that came against vs, into our handes.

24. మీరు చెప్పినది యెవరు ఒప్పుకొందురు? యుద్ధమునకు పోయినవాని భాగమెంతో సామానునొద్ద నిలిచిన వాని భాగము అంతే అని వాడుక మాట; అందరు సమముగానే పాలు పంచుకొందురు గదా

24. For who will hearke vnto you in this matter? But as his parte is that goeth downe and fighteth, so shall his parte be that tarryeth by the stuffe: they shall parte alyke.

25. కావున నాటనుండి నేటివరకు దావీదు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో అట్టి పంపకము కట్టడగాను న్యాయ విధిగాను ఏర్పరచి నియమించెను.

25. And so from that day forward, was that made a statute and lawe in Israel, vnto this day,

26. దావీదు సిక్లగునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు దోపుడు సొమ్ములో కొంత తన స్నేహితులైన యూదా పెద్దలకు ఏర్పరచియెహోవా శత్రువులయొద్ద నేను దోచుకొనిన సొమ్ములో కొంత ఆశీర్వాదసూచనగా మీకు ఇచ్చుచున్నానని చెప్పి వారికి పంపించెను.

26. When Dauid therefore came to Ziklag, he sent of the pray vnto the elders of Iuda and to his friendes, saying: See, there is a blessing for you of the spoyle of the enemies of the Lorde.

27. బేతేలులోను దక్షిణ రామోతులోను యత్తీరులోను

27. He sent to them of Bethel, to them of south Ramoth, to them of Iathir,

28. అరోయేరులోను షిప్మోతులోను ఎష్తెమోలోను

28. To them of Aroer, to them of Sephamoth, to them of Esthema,

29. రాకాలులోను యెరహ్మెయేలీయుల గ్రామములలోను కేనీయుల గ్రామములలోను

29. To them of Rachal, to them of the cities of Ierahmeel, to them of the cities of the Kenites,

30. హోర్మాలోను కోరాషానులోను అతాకులోను

30. To them of Horma, to them of Chorashan, to them of Athach,

31. హెబ్రోనులోను దావీదును అతని జనులును సంచరించిన స్థలము లన్నిటిలోను ఉన్న పెద్దలకు దావీదు పంపించెను.

31. To them that are in Hebron, and to all places where Dauid and his men were wont to haunt.
