Esther of Chhattisgarh: Courageous Testimony Amidst Persecution
The courageous testimony of Esther and her family stands as a poignant reminder of the unwavering faith and steadfast commitment to Christ, even in the face of severe persecution and tragic loss. Their unwavering resolution to stand firm in their faith, despite being ostracized and boycotted by their community, serves as an inspiration to believers around the world.
16yr old Esther was one among six siblings in the Sori family, who faced relentless persecution for their decision to remain faithful followers of Jesus Christ. The villagers, driven by hostility and intolerance towards Christianity, had ostracized and distanced themselves from the Sori family, making their lives increasingly difficult. Her family had been shunned by the villagers for their Christian faith. The community had distanced the family from a year ago.
Tragically, Esther paid the ultimate price for her faith, being martyred for her unwavering commitment to Christ. The girl usually returned at four or five in the evening from her school, but when she wasn’t home even an hour later, the family grew worried. Around 6 pm, three meters from the road, they found her school bag. Esther-s body was found half-naked in the forest under the jurisdiction of Bayanar police station, Kondagaon district, Chhattisgarh, India. She was grabbed by a gang of men who gangraped her and murdered her. Despite the immense loss, her father, Bro. Maner Sori, displayed remarkable courage and faith, declaring boldly, "I will never leave Jesus Christ whatever may happen. I am not worried about my daughter because she is at the safest place in Heaven."

In the midst of unimaginable grief and persecution, the Sori family-s steadfast faith and courage shine brightly as a testament to the transformative power of Christ-s love and grace.
