సిలువనుగూర్చిన వార్త, నశించుచున్న వారికి వెఱ్ఱితనము గాని రక్షింపబడుచున్న మనకు దేవుని శక్తి. 1 కొరింథీ 1:18
రాబోయే తరానికి పుట్టబోయే బిడ్డను క్రీస్తు కొరకు అంకితం చేయాలని నిర్ణయించుకుంది తల్లి మోనికా. చిన్నప్పుడే తండ్రిని పోగొట్టుకున్న కుమారునికి, అనుదినం దేవుని గూర్చి బోధిస్తూ, తన ఉద్దేశాలను వివరిస్తూ క్రీస్తును గూర్చిన విషయాలు చిన్ననాటినుండే నేర్పించడానికి ప్రయత్నించింది. యౌవనస్తుడయ్యెసరికి ఆ కుమారుడు లోకసంబంధమైన పాపాలకు బానిసై వాటితో జీవిస్తూ తన జీవితాన్ని నాశనం చేసుకున్నాడు. ఏరోజైనా నా కుమారుడు దేవునివైపు తిరుగుతాడు అనే నమ్మకంతో తన కుమారుని కొరకు రేయింబగళ్లు ప్రార్థన చేసింది ఆ తల్లి.
లోకాశలతో నశించిపోతున్న జీవితానికి క్రీస్తును గూర్చిన వార్త వెర్రితనంగా అనిపించింది. వయసు 33... అయినా భాద్యతారహితంగా జీవితం జీవిస్తూ ఉండగా, అనుకోని రీతిలో తన తల్లి మరణం అతన్ని కలచివేసింది. పరుగులు తీస్తున్న లౌకిక జీవితం ఒక్కసారిగా ఒంటరితనంలోనికి నెట్టేసింది. తన తల్లి మాటలను జ్ఞాపకము చేసుకున్నాడు, జీవితానికి అర్ధం తెలుసుకున్నాడు, క్రీస్తును గూర్చిన విషయాలు శక్తిని కలుగజేయగా తన పరుగును ప్రభువు వైపు మళ్ళించాడు పరిశుద్ధుడైన అగస్టీన్.
క్రీస్తును సంపూర్ణంగా తెలుసుకున్న ఆయన "నా తల్లి కన్నీటి ప్రవాహములో నేను దేవుని రాజ్యములోనికి కొట్టుకొని వచ్చితిని" అని సాక్ష్యమిచ్చారు.
ఎవరునూ పుట్టుకతో క్రెస్తవులు కాలేరు. జాతిని బట్టి మతమును బట్టి అసాధ్యం.
నేనంటాను, క్రీస్తును వ్యక్తిగతంగా అనుభవించడమే నిజమైన క్రైస్తవ్యత్వం.
సిలువకు ముందు... క్రీస్తు బోధలు ఎవరు పట్టించుకోలేదు. సిలువలో...ఆయన మరణం సువార్త ప్రకటిస్తే; ఈనాడు త్రోసిపుచ్చేవారెందరో. క్రీస్తు మాటలను జ్ఞాపకము చేసుకుందాం. మనకొరకు ఆయన పడిన ప్రయాస గాయాలు-దెబ్బలు చివరికి మరణం. క్రీస్తు నా కొరకు మరణించాడు అనే అనుభవం రక్షణ మార్గంవైపు నడిపిస్తుంది. సిలువ శ్రమ మన జీవితాలను పాపమునుండి విడిపిస్తే, సిలువలో క్రీస్తు మరణం మన జీవితాలను పరిశుద్ధపరచిన ఈ సిలువను గూర్చిన సువార్త రక్షించబడిన మనకు శక్తి కలిగిస్తుంది.
మొదటిసారి సువార్త వినువారికి అది వెర్రితనంగానే అనిపిస్తుంది. క్రీస్తును నమ్ముకోండి అని చెప్పడం కూడా చాలా సులభం. కాని, సువార్తను ప్రకటించి వారికొరకు ప్రార్ధన చేస్తే ఆ సువార్త బలమైన ఆయుధంగా మారి ఎటువంటి పాపాత్ముడనైనా తలకిందులు చేసే శక్తిగలదిగా మారుతుంది. ఇది మన బాధ్యత. మన జీవిత కాలంలో కనీసం ఒకరినైనా క్రీస్తువైపు నడిపించే ప్రయత్నం చేద్దామా!

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18.
Mother Monica decided to dedicate her child to Christ. From an early age, she tried to teach about Christ to her son who had lost his father, she started teaching and explaining God-s purposes. As her son was growing at a young, he addicted to worldly sins and lived with them and ruined his life. Monica prayed for her son in the hope that her son would turn to God someday.
The news of Christ was foolish for him as he was leading a worldly sinful life. While he was 33, Still living in a life of irresponsibility, the death of his mother, grieved him. Suddenly loneliness entered his life. He was St. Augustine. Augustine started remembering the words of his mother, understood the meaning of life, the gospel of Christ re-energized him, and turned his attention to the Lord.
After he started knowing Christ perfectly, he proclaims that, "I have come into the kingdom of God by my mother-s flood of tears."
No one is a Christian by birth. You are not at all a Christian depending on race or by religion, it is impossible. Verily I say that true Christianity is about experiencing Christ personally.
Nobody cared for the teachings of Christ while He was with us. But when the Cross of Jesus, proclaimed the gospel, many rejected and ignored the gospel. Let us remember the words of Christ. His traumatic injuries and ultimately death. The experience that Christ died for us leads to salvation. If the tribulations of Christ free our lives from sin, the death of Christ on the cross empowers us, the gospel of this Cross saves us and sanctifies our lives.
It sounds foolish to first-time gospel listeners. It is also easy for us to say others to "Trust Christ." But, by proclaiming the gospel to our fellow beings and praying for them, the gospel becomes a powerful weapon that can turn any sinner into a believer. It is our mere responsibility. Let us try to lead at least one person to know and experience Christ in our lifetime!
