ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలు దేవుణ్ణి తమ రాజుగా తిరస్కరించి, బదులుగా తమకొక మానవ రాజును కోరుకున్న సందర్భాన్ని గుర్తుచేస్తుంది. అయితే, ప్రవక్తయైన

Do not be afraid
1 Samuel 12:20 says, "And Samuel said to the people, -Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. Yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.-"
This verse remembers a moment in Israel-s history when they had rejected God as their king and asked for a human king instead. Samuel, the prophet, was warning the people of the consequences of their choice and reminding them that true leadership comes from God.
Samuel-s words to the people serve as a reminder to us today as well. No matter what mistakes we have made or what sins we have committed, we should not be afraid to turn back to God. He is always waiting with open arms to welcome us back into His loving embrace.
But Samuel also reminds us that true repentance involves more than just asking for forgiveness. We must turn away from our old ways and fully commit ourselves to serving God with all our heart. This means that we must put God first in our lives, seeking His will above our own, and live in obedience to His commands.
Today, if you have been struggling with sin or feeling distant from God, remember Samuel-s words: "Do not be afraid...serve the Lord with all your heart." Let us turn back to God with repentant hearts, seeking his forgiveness and his guidance as we seek to follow him wholeheartedly. Amen.
