Pastor Chamu Purty, A Testimony of Light in the Darkness
The life and martyrdom of Pastor Chamu Purty stand as a powerful testimony to unwavering dedication, sacrificial service, and steadfast commitment to Christ. His selfless devotion to both spiritual and practical upliftment of his community serves as an inspiration to believers worldwide.
Pastor Chamu, serving in the village of Sandigaon, exhibited a rare blend of faith and action. He not only shepherded his congregation spiritually but also extended his care to meet the physical needs of the villagers. His innovative initiative of modifying his two-wheeler to transport the sick to the hospital exemplified his deep compassion and practical love for his neighbors.
Tragically, on the night of October 13th, armed assailants violently interrupted Pastor Chamu-s peaceful ministry, seeking prayer but ultimately ending his life in cold blood. His wife, Sr. Sonamti Purty, bravely witnessed the horrific attack, yet managed to escape with their son under the cover of darkness, leaving behind a shattered community mourning the loss of their beloved pastor.

Despite the devastating loss and the scattering of believers, Sr. Sonamti Purty, inspired by the Holy Spirit and fueled by her husband-s legacy, courageously resumed worship services in their home. Today, over seven families gather to worship with her, carrying on Pastor Chamu-s legacy of faith, love, and service. His sacrificial service and unwavering commitment to Christ serve as a testimony of light in the darkness, challenging us to examine our own dedication to Christ and His Kingdom.
