1. ధాన్యము ఐగుప్తులో నున్నదని యాకోబు తెలిసికొనినప్పుడు మీరేల ఒకరి ముఖము ఒకరు చూచుచున్నారని తన కుమారులతో అనెను.

1. Then saw Jacob that there was corn in Egypt, and Jacob said to his sons, Wherefore look ye one at another?

2. And he said, Lo I have heard that there is corn in Egypt, Go down thither and buy corn for us from thence, that we may live and not die.

3. So Joseph's ten brethren went down, to buy corn from the Egyptians;

4. but, Benjamin, Joseph's own brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren, for he said, Lest there befall him any mischief.

5. Thus came in the sons of Israel, to buy corn in the midst of them that came for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

6. అప్పుడు యోసేపు ఆ దేశమంతటిమీద అధికారియై యుండెను. అతడే ఆ దేశ ప్రజలందరికిని ధాన్యమమ్మకము చేయువాడు గనుక యోసేపు సహోదరులు వచ్చి ముఖములు నేలను మోపి అతనికి వందనము చేసిరి.

6. Now, Joseph he, it was, that was in power over the land, he, it was that was selling corn to all the people of the land, so Joseph's brethren came in, and bowed themselves down to him, with their faces to the earth.

7. యోసేపు తన సహోదరులను చూచి వారిని గురుతుపట్టి వారికి అన్యునివలె కనబడి వారితో కఠినముగా మాటలాడి - మీరెక్కడనుండి వచ్చితిరని అడిగెను. అందుకు వారు - ఆహారము కొనుటకు కనాను దేశమునుండి వచ్చితి మనిరి.

7. And Joseph beheld his brethren and recognised them, and made himself a stranger unto them and spake with them harsh things and said unto them Whence have ye come in? And they said, From the land of Canaan, to buy food.

8. యోసేపు తన సహోదరులను గురుతు పట్టెను గాని వారతని గురుతు పట్టలేదు.

8. And Joseph recognised his brethren, whereas they, recognised him not.

9. యోసేపు వారిని గూర్చి తాను కనిన కలలు జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని - మీరు వేగులవారు ఈ దేశముగుట్టు తెలిసికొన వచ్చితిరని వారితోననగా

9. And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed regarding them, so he said unto them Spies, are, ye! to see the nakedness of the land, have ye come in!

10. వారు లేదు ప్రభువా, నీ దాసులమైన మేము ఆహారము కొనుటకే వచ్చితివిు;

10. And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but, thy servants, are come to buy food.

11. మేమందరము ఒక్క మనుష్యుని కుమారులము; మేము యథార్థవంతులమేగాని నీ దాసులమైన మేము వేగులవారము కామని అతనితో చెప్పిరి.

11. All of us, are, sons of one man, honest men, are we: thy servants are not, spies.

12. అయితే అతడు - లేదు, ఈ దేశము గుట్టు తెలిసి కొనుటకై వచ్చితిరని వారితో అనెను.

12. And he said unto him, Nay! but, the nakedness of the land, are ye come in to see.

13. అందుకు వారు - నీ దాసులమైన మేము పండ్రెండుమంది సహోదరులము, కనాను దేశములోనున్న ఒక్క మనుష్యుని కుమారులము; ఇదిగో కనిష్ఠుడు నేడు మా తండ్రియొద్ద ఉన్నాడు; ఒకడు లేడు అని ఉత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

13. And they said: We, thy twelve servants, are, brethren, sons of one man in the and of Canaan, and lo! the youngest: is with our father this day, and, the one, is not!

14. అయితే యోసేపు - మీరు వేగులవారని నేను మీతో చెప్పినమాట నిజమే.

14. And Joseph said unto them, The very thing, that I spake unto you, saying Spies, are, ye.

15. దీనివలన మీ నిజము తెలియబడును; ఫరో జీవము తోడు, మీ తమ్ముడు ఇక్కడికి వచ్చితేనే గాని మీరిక్కడనుండి వెళ్లకూడదు.

15. Hereby, shall ye be proved, By the life of Pharaoh, ye shall not go forth from hence, save only by the coming in of your youngest brother hither.

16. మీ తమ్ముని తీసికొని వచ్చుటకు మీలో ఒకని పంపుడి; అయితే మీరు బంధింపబడి యుందురు. అట్లు మీలో సత్యమున్నదో లేదో మీ మాటలు శోధింపబడును; లేనియెడల ఫరో జీవముతోడు, మీరు వేగుల వారని చెప్పి

16. Send from among you one that he may fetch your brother, but be, ye, held as prisoners, that your words may be proved whether, truth, is with you, and, if not, by the life of Pharaoh, surely, spies, ye are.

17. వారిని మూడు దినములు చెరసాలలో వేయించెను.

17. So he drew them all together into ward, for three days.

18. మూడవ దినమున యోసేపు వారిని చూచి నేను దేవునికి భయపడువాడను; మీరు బ్రదుకునట్లు దీని చేయుడి.

18. And Joseph said unto them on the third day, This, do and live, God himself, do, I, revere.

19. మీరు యథార్థవంతులైతిరా మీ సహోదరులలో ఒకడు ఈ చెరసాలలో బంధింపబడవలెను; మీరు వెళ్లి మీ కుటుంబముల కరవు తీరుటకు ధాన్యము తీసికొని పోవుడి.

19. If ye, are, honest men, one brother of you shall be kept as a prisoner in your house of ward, but, ye, go, take in corn for the famine of your houses;

20. మీ తమ్ముని నా యొద్దకు తీసికొని రండి; అట్లు మీ మాటలు సత్యమైనట్టు కనబడును గనుక మీరు చావరని చెప్పెను. వారట్లు చేసిరి.

20. and your youngest brother, shall ye bring in unto me, that your words may be confirmed, and ye die not. And they did so.

21. అప్పుడు వారు నిశ్చయముగా మన సహోదరుని యెడల మనము చేసిన అపరాధమునకు శిక్ష పొందుచున్నాము. అతడు మనలను బతిమాలు కొనినప్పుడు మనము అతని వేదన చూచియు వినకపోతిమి;అందువలన ఈ వేదన మనకు వచ్చెదనని ఒకనితో ఒకడు మాటలాడుకొనిరి .

21. And they said each man unto his brother Verily guilty, we are, respecting our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul when he appealed unto us for favour and we hearkened not, therefore, hath come in unto us this distress.

22. మరియు రూబేను ఈ చిన్నవానియెడల పాపము చేయకుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పలేదా? అయినను మీరు వినరైతిరి గనుక అతని రక్తాపరాధము మనమీద మోపబడుచున్నదని వారి కుత్తర మిచ్చెను.

22. And Reuben responded to them, saying Spake I not unto you saying, Do not sin against the child! And ye hearkened not? His very blood, therefore lo! it is required.

23. అయితే ద్విభాషి వారి మధ్య నుండెను గనుక తన మాట యోసేపు గ్రహించెనని వారు తెలిసికొనలేదు.

23. But, they, knew not that Joseph was hearkening, for, the interpreter, was between them.

24. అతడు వారియొద్దనుండి అవతలకు పోయి యేడ్చి, మరల వారియొద్దకు వచ్చి వారితో మాటలాడి, వారిలో షిమ్యోనును పట్టుకొని వారి కన్నుల ఎదుట అతని బంధించెను.

24. So he turned away from them, and wept, then came back unto them and spake unto them, and took away from them Simeon, and bound him prisoner before their eyes.

25. మరియు యోసేపు వారి గోనెలను ధాన్యముతో నింపుటకును, ఎవరి రూకలు వారి గోనెలో తిరిగి ఉంచుటకును, ప్రయాణము కొరకు భోజనపదార్థములు వారికిచ్చుటకును ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను. అతడు వారియెడల నిట్లు జరిగించెను.

25. Then commanded Joseph that their bags should be filled with corn, and their silver be returned each man's into his sack, and provision be given for the journey, and it was done to them thus.

26. వారు తాము కొనిన ధాన్యమును తమ గాడిదల మీద ఎక్కించుకొని అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లిపోయిరి.

26. So they lifted up their corn on their asses, and went their way, from thence.

27. అయితే వారు దిగిన చోట ఒకడు తన గాడిదకు మేత పెట్టుటకై తన గోనె విప్పినప్పుడు అతని రూకలు కనబడెను, అవి అతని గోనెమూతిలో ఉండెను.

27. And the first opened his sack to give fodder to his ass at the inn, and beheld his silver, yea there, it was in the mouth of his sack!

28. అప్పుడతడు - నా రూకలు తిరిగి యిచ్చివేసినారు. ఇదిగో ఇవి నా గోనె లోనే ఉన్నవని తన సహోదరులతో చెప్పెను. అంతట వారు గుండె చెదిరిపోయినవారై జడిసి - ఇదేమిటి? దేవుడు మనకిట్లు చేసెనని ఒకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొనిరి.

28. So he said unto his brethren My silver hath been returned, yea verily, there it is in my sack! Then went forth their heart and they turned trembling each man unto his brother saying. Wharf is this that God hath done to us?

29. వారు కనాను దేశమందున్న తమ తండ్రియైన యాకోబు నొద్దకు వచ్చి తమకు సంభవించినది యావత్తును అతనికి తెలియ చేసిరి.

29. So they came in unto Jacob their father to the land of Canaan, and told him all that had befallen them saying:

30. ఎట్లనగా - ఆ దేశమునకు ప్రభువైనవాడు మాతో కఠినముగా మాటలాడి, మేము ఆ దేశమును వేగుచూడ వచ్చినవారమని అనుకొనెను.

30. The man that is lord of the land spake unto us harsh things, and then delivered us up. as spies of the land.

31. అప్పుడు మేము యథార్థవంతులము, వేగులవారము కాము.

31. And we said unto him Honest men, are, we, we are not spies!

32. పండ్రెండుమంది సహోదరులము, ఒక్కతండ్రి కుమారులము, ఒకడు లేడు, మా తమ్ముడు నేడు కనాను దేశమందు మా తండ్రియొద్ద ఉన్నాడని అతనితో చెప్పితివిు.

32. Twelve brethren, are, we, sons of our father, the one, is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

33. అందుకు ఆ దేశపు ప్రభువు మమ్మును చూచి మీరు యథార్థవంతులని దీనివలన నేను తెలిసికొందును. మీ సహోదరులలో ఒకనిని నాయొద్ద విడిచిపెట్టి మీ కుటుంబములకు కరవు తీరునట్లు

33. Then said the man the lord of the land unto us, Hereby, shall I get to know that honest men, ye are, One brother of you, leave ye remaining with me, and corn for the famine of your houses, take ye and go your way;

34. నాయొద్దకు ఆ చిన్నవాని తోడుకొనిరండి. అప్పుడు మీరు యథార్థవంతులే గాని వేగులవారు కారని నేను తెలిసికొని మీ సహోదరుని మీకప్పగించెదను; అప్పుడు మీరు ఈ దేశమందు వ్యాపారము చేసికొనవచ్చునని చెప్పెననిరి.

34. And bring ye in your youngest brother unto me, So must I get to know that ye are, not spies, but are honest men: Your brother, will I give up to you, and with the land, shall ye traffic.

35. వారు తమ గోనెలను కుమ్మరించినప్పుడు ఎవరి రూకల మూట వారి గోనెలో ఉండెను. వారును వారి తండ్రియు ఆ రూకల మూటలు చూచి భయపడిరి.

35. And it came to pass when, they, were emptying their, sacks then lo! each man's bundle of silver, was in his sack, and when they beheld their bundles of silver they and their father, they were afraid,

36. అప్పుడు వారి తండ్రియైన యాకోబు వారిని చూచి మీరు నన్ను పుత్రహీనునిగా చేయుచున్నారు; యోసేపు లేడు; షిమ్యోను లేడు; మీరు బెన్యామీనును కూడ తీసికొనపోవుదురు; ఇవన్నియు నాకు ప్రతికూలముగా ఉన్నవని వారితో చెప్పెను.

36. And Jacob their father said unto them, Me, have ye bereaved, Joseph, is not, and, Simeon, is not, and Benjamin, ye would take! Against me, have happened all these things.

37. అందుకు రూబేను - నేనతని నీయొద్దకు తీసికొని రానియెడల నా యిద్దరు కుమారులను నీవు చంపవచ్చును; అతని నా చేతికప్పగించుము, అతని మరల నీయొద్దకు తీసికొని వచ్చి అప్పగించెదనని తన తండ్రితో చెప్పెను.

37. Then spake Reuben unto his father saying, My two sons, shalt thou put to death, if I bring him not unto thee, Come give him up upon my hand, and I, will restore him unto thee.

38. అయితే అతడు నా కుమారుని మీతో వెళ్లనియ్యను; ఇతని అన్న చనిపోయెను, ఇతడు మాత్రమే మిగిలియున్నాడు. మీరు పోవు మార్గమున ఇతనికి హాని సంభవించినయెడల నెరసిన వెండ్రుకలు గల నన్ను మృతుల లోకములోనికి దుఃఖముతో దిగిపోవునట్లు చేయుదురని చెప్పెను.

38. And he said, My son shall not go down with you, For, his brother, is dead and, he alone, is left, and as surely as there befall him any mischief by the way wherein ye go, so surely shall ye bring down my grey hairs with sorrow unto hades.
