1. గిలాదువాడైన యెఫ్తా పరాక్రమముగల బలాఢ్యుడు. అతడు వేశ్య కుమారుడు; గిలాదు యెఫ్తాను కనెను.

1. And there was one Iephthah a Gileadite, a strong man, the sonne of an harlot.

2. గిలాదు భార్య అతనికి కుమారులను కనగా వారు పెద్ద వారై యెఫ్తాతోనీవు అన్యస్త్రీకి పుట్టిన వాడవు గనుక మన తండ్రియింట నీకు స్వాస్థ్యము లేదనిరి.

2. And Gilead begat Iephthah: And Gileads wyfe bare him sonnes, which when they were come to age, thrust out Iephthah, and said vnto him: Thou shalt not inherite in our fathers house, for thou art the sonne of a straunge woman.

3. యెఫ్తా తన సహోదరులయొద్దనుండి పారిపోయి టోబు దేశమున నివ సింపగా అల్లరిజనము యెఫ్తాయొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో కూడ సంచరించుచుండెను.

3. Then Iephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the lande of Tob: And there gathered ydle men to Iephthah, and went out with him.

4. కొంతకాలమైన తరువాత అమ్మోనీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులతో యుద్ధము చేయగా

4. And in processe of time, the children of Ammon made warre agaynst Israel.

5. అమ్మోనీయులు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులతో యుద్ధము చేసినందున

5. And when the children of Ammon fought thus agaynst Israel, the elders of Gilead went to set Iephthah out of the lande of Tob,

6. గిలాదు పెద్దలు టోబుదేశమునుండి యెఫ్తాను రప్పించుటకు పోయినీవు వచ్చి మాకు అధిపతివై యుండుము, అప్పుడు మనము అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయుదమని యెఫ్తాతో చెప్పిరి.

6. And sayde vnto him: Come, and be our captayne, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.

7. అందుకు యెఫ్తామీరు నాయందు పగపట్టి నా తండ్రి యింటనుండి నన్ను తోలివేసితిరే. ఇప్పుడు మీకు కలిగిన శ్రమలో మీరు నాయొద్దకు రానేల? అని గిలాదు పెద్దలతో చెప్పెను.

7. Iephthah aunswered the elders of Gilead: Dyd not ye hate me, & expell me out of my fathers house? howe then come you vnto me nowe in time of your tribulation?

8. అప్పుడు గిలాదు పెద్దలు అందుచేతనే మేము నీయొద్దకు మళ్లి వచ్చితివిు; నీవు మాతోకూడ వచ్చి అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధముచేసిన యెడల, గిలాదు నివాసులమైన మా అందరిమీద నీవు అధికారి వవుదువని యెఫ్తాతో అనిరి.

8. And the elders of Gilead sayde vnto Iephthah: Therfore we turne agayne to thee nowe, that thou mayest go with vs, & fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head ouer all the inhabitauntes of Gilead.

9. అందుకు యెఫ్తా అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు మీరు నన్ను గిలాదుకు తిరిగి తీసికొని పోయినమీదట యెహోవా వారిని నా చేతి కప్పగించిన యెడల నేనే మీకు ప్రధా నుడనవుదునా? అని గిలాదు పెద్దల నడుగగా

9. And Iephthah sayde vnto the elders of Gilead: If ye bring me home againe to fight against the children of Ammon, then yf the Lorde deliuer them before me, shall I be your head?

10. గిలాదు పెద్దలునిశ్చయముగా మేము నీ మాటచొప్పున చేయు దుము; యెహోవా మన యుభయుల మధ్యను సాక్షిగా ఉండునుగాకని యెఫ్తాతో అనిరి.

10. And the elders of Gilead sayd to Iephthah: The Lorde be witnesse betweene vs, if we do not according to thy wordes.

11. కాబట్టి యెఫ్తా గిలాదు పెద్దలతోకూడ పోయినప్పుడు జనులు తమకు ప్రధానుని గాను అధిపతినిగాను అతని నియమించు కొనిరి. అప్పుడు యెఫ్తా మిస్పాలో యెహోవా సన్నిధిని తన సంగతి యంతయు వినిపించెను.

11. Then Iephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and ye people made hym head & captayne ouer them: And Iephthah rehearsed al his wordes before the Lorde in Mispah.

12. యెఫ్తా అమ్మోనీయుల రాజునొద్దకు దూతలనుపంపినాకును నీకును మధ్య ఏమి జరిగినందున నీవు నా దేశము మీదికి యుద్ధమునకు వచ్చియున్నావని యడుగగా

12. And Iephthah sent messengers vnto the king of the children of Ammon, saying: What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me, to fight in my lande?

13. అమ్మోనీయుల రాజుఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వచ్చినప్పుడు వారు అర్నోను మొదలుకొని యబ్బోకు వరకును యొర్దానువరకును నా దేశము ఆక్రమించుకొని నందుననే నేను వచ్చియున్నాను. కాబట్టి మనము సమా ధానముగా నుండునట్లు ఆ దేశములను మరల మాకప్పగించు మని యెఫ్తా పంపిన దూతలతో సమాచారము చెప్పెను.

13. The king of the children of Ammon aunswered vnto ye messengers of Iephthah: Because Israel toke away my lande when they came out of Egypt, euen from Arnon vnto Iabok, and vnto Iordane: Nowe therfore restore those landes agayne with faire meanes.

14. అంతట యెఫ్తా మరల అమ్మోనీయుల రాజునొద్దకు దూత లను పంపి యిట్లనెను

14. And Iephthah sent messengers agayne vnto the king of the children of Ammon,

15. యెఫ్తా సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగాఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మోయాబు దేశమునైనను అమ్మోనీయుల దేశమునైనను ఆక్రమించుకొనలేదు.

15. And sayd vnto him, thus sayth Iephthah: Israel toke not away the lande of Moab, nor the lande of the children of Ammon.

16. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వచ్చుచుండగా వారు ఎఱ్ఱసముద్రము వరకు అరణ్యములో నడిచి కాదేషునకు వచ్చిరి.

16. But when Israel came vp fro Egypt, and walked thorowe the wildernesse, euen vnto ye red sea, they came to Cades:

17. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఎదోము రాజునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపంపీ­ నీ దేశము గుండ పోవుటకు దయచేసి నాకు సెలవిమ్మని యడుగగా, ఎదోమురాజు ఒప్పుకొనలేదు. వారు మోయాబు రాజునొద్దకు అట్టి వర్తమానమే పంపిరి గాని అతడునునేను సెలవియ్యనని చెప్పెను. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు కాదేషులో నివసించిరి.

17. And Israel sent messengers vnto the king of Edom, saying, Let me I praye thee go thorow thy lande: But the king of Edo would not agree therto. And in lyke maner they sent vnto the king of Moab: but he woulde not consent. And Israel abode stil in Cades.

18. తరువాత వారు అరణ్యప్రయాణముచేయుచు ఎదోమీయులయొక్కయు మోయాబీయులయొక్కయు దేశముల చుట్టు తిరిగి, మోయాబునకు తూర్పు దిక్కున కనాను దేశమందు ప్రవేశించి అర్నోను అద్దరిని దిగిరి. వారు మోయాబు సరి హద్దు లోపలికి పోలేదు. అర్నోను మోయాబునకు సరి హద్దు గదా.

18. And then they went along thorowe the wildernesse, and compassed the land of Edom, & the land of Moab, and came along by the east syde of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, and woulde not come within the coast of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.

19. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అమోరీయుల రాజైన సీహోనను హెష్బోను రాజునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపినీ దేశముగుండ మా స్థలమునకు మేము పోవునట్లు దయచేసి సెలవిమ్మని అతనియొద్ద మనవిచేయగా

19. And then Israel sent messengers vnto Sehon king of the Amorites, & king of Hesbon, and sayde vnto him: Let vs passe we pray thee thorow thy land vnto our owne countrey.

20. సీహోను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను నమ్మక, తన దేశములో బడి వెళ్లనియ్యక, తన జనులనందరిని సమకూర్చుకొని యాహసులో దిగి ఇశ్రా యేలీయులతో యుద్ధము చేసెను.

20. But Sehon consented not to Israel, that he shoulde go thorowe his coast: but gathered all his people together, & pitched in Iasa, & fought with Israel.

21. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఆ సీహోనును అతని సమస్త జనమును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల చేతి కప్పగింపగా వారు ఆ జనమును హతముచేసిన తరువాత ఆ దేశనివాసులైన అమోరీయుల దేశమంతయు స్వాధీనపరచుకొని

21. And the Lorde God of Israel deliuered Sehon & all his folke into the handes of Israel, and they smote them: So Israel smote them, and possessed all the land of the Amorites the inhabitauntes of that countrey.

22. అర్నోను నది మొదలుకొని యబ్బోకువరకును అరణ్యము మొదలుకొని యొర్దానువరకును అమోరీయుల ప్రాంతములన్నిటిని స్వాధీనపరచుకొనిరి.

22. And they possessed al the coastes of the Amorites, from Arnon vnto Iabok, & from the wildernesse vnto Iordane.

23. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా అమోరీయులను తన జనులయెదుట నిలువ కుండ తోలివేసిన తరువాత నీవు దానిని స్వతంత్రించుకొందువా?

23. So nowe, seyng the Lord God of Israel hath cast out the Amorites before his people Israel, shouldest thou possesse it?

24. స్వాధీన పరచుకొనుటకు కెమోషను నీ దేవత నీకిచ్చిన దానిని నీవనుభవించుచున్నావుగదా? మా దేవుడైన యెహోవా మా యెదుటనుండి యెవరిని తోలివేయునో వారి స్వాస్థ్యమును మేము స్వాధీనపరచుకొందుము.

24. Nay, but what people Camos thy God dryueth out, that lande possesse thou: Euen so whatsoeuer nation the Lord our God expelleth before vs, that lande ought we to enioy.

25. మోయాబు రాజైన సిప్పోరు కుమారుడగు బాలాకుకంటె నీవు ఏమాత్రమును అధికుడవు కావుగదా? అతడు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులతో ఎప్పుడైనను కలహించెనా? ఎప్పుడైనను వారితో యుద్ధము చేసెనా?

25. And art thou better then Balac the sonne of Zephor king of Moab? Did he not stryue with Israel and fight against them,

26. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు హెప్బోను లోను దాని ఊరులలోను అరోయేరులోను దాని ఊరుల లోను అర్నోను తీరముల పట్టణములన్నిటిలోను మూడు వందల సంవత్సరములనుండి నివసించుచుండగా ఆ కాలమున నీవేల వాటిని పట్టుకొనలేదు?

26. All the whyle Israel dwelt in Hesbon and her townes, in Aroer and her townes, and in all the cities that be along by ye coastes of Arnon three hundred yeres? Why did ye not recouer them in all that space?

27. ఇట్లుండగా నేను నీ యెడల తప్పు చేయలేదు గాని నీవు నామీదికి యుద్ధమునకు వచ్చుట వలన నాయెడల దోషము చేయుచున్నావు. న్యాయాధి పతియైన యెహోవా నేడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును అమ్మోనీ యులకును న్యాయము తీర్చును గాక.

27. Wherfore I haue not synned agaynst thee, but thou doest me wrong to warre against me: The Lord therfore whiche is a iudge, be iudge this day betweene the children of Israel, and the children of Ammon.

28. అయితే అమ్మోనీ యులరాజు యెఫ్తా తనతో చెప్పిన మాటలకుఒప్పుకొన లేదు.

28. Howbeit, the king of the children of Ammon hearkened not vnto the wordes of Iephthah, which he sent him.

29. యెహోవా ఆత్మ యెఫ్తామీదికి రాగా అతడు గిలాదు లోను మనష్షేలోను సంచరించుచు, గిలాదు మిస్పే లో సంచరించి గిలాదు మిస్పేనుండి అమ్మోనీయుల యొద్దకు సాగెను.

29. Then the spirite of the Lord came vpo Iephthah, and he passed ouer to Gilead & to Manasses, and came to Mispah that lieth in Gilead, & from thence vnto the children of Ammon.

30. అప్పుడు యెఫ్తా యెహోవాకు మ్రొక్కు కొనెను, ఎట్లనగానీవు నా చేతికి అమ్మోనీయులను నిశ్చ యముగా అప్పగించినయెడల

30. And Iephthah vowed a vowe vnto ye Lorde, & sayd: If thou shalt deliuer the children of Ammon into my handes,

31. నేను అమ్మోనీయులయొద్ద నుండి క్షేమముగా తిరిగివచ్చునప్పుడు, నన్ను ఎదుర్కొను టకు నా యింటి ద్వారమునుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చునదేదో అది యెహోవాకు ప్రతిష్ఠితమగును; మరియు దహన బలిగా దాని నర్పించెదననెను.

31. Then that thing that commeth out of the doores of my house against me, whe I come home in peace from the children of Ammon, shalbe the Lordes, and I will offer it vp for a burnt offering.

32. అప్పుడుయెఫ్తా అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు వారియొద్దకు సాగిపోయినప్పుడు యెహోవా అతనిచేతికి వారినప్ప గించెను గనుక అతడు వారిని
హెబ్రీయులకు 11:32

32. And so Iephthah went vnto the children of Ammon to fight agaynst them, and the Lorde deliuered them into his handes.

33. అనగా అరోయేరు మొదలుకొని మిన్నీతుకు వచ్చువరకు ఆబేల్కెరా మీమువరకును ఇరువది పట్టణముల వారిని నిశ్శేష ముగా హతముచేసెను. అట్లు అమ్మోనీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుట నిలువకుండ అణచి వేయబడిరి.

33. And he smote them from Aroer tyll thou come to Mennith, euen twentie cities, and so foorth to the playne of the vineyardes, with an exceeding great slaughter: And thus the childre of Ammon were brought vnder, before the children of Israel.

34. యెఫ్తా మిస్పాలోనున్న తన యింటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అతని కుమార్తె తంబురలతోను నాట్యముతోను బయలు దేరి అతనిని ఎదుర్కొనెను. ఆమె గాక అతనికి మగ సంతానమేగాని ఆడుసంతానమేగాని లేదు.

34. When Iephthah came to Misphah vnto his house, see, his daughter came out agaynst him with timbrelles and daunces, which was his onely chylde: so that beside her, he had neither sonne nor daughter.

35. కాబట్టి అతడు ఆమెను చూచి, తన బట్టలను చింపు కొని అయ్యో నా కుమారీ, నీవు నన్ను బహుగా క్రుంగచేసితివి, నీవు నన్ను తల్లడింపచేయువారిలో ఒకతెవైయున్నావు; నేను యెహోవాకు మాట యిచ్చియున్నాను గనుక వెనుకతీయ లేననగా

35. And when he sawe her, he rent his clotes, & sayde: Alas my daughter, thou hast brought me lowe, & art one of them that troubleth me: For I haue opened my mouth vnto the Lorde, and cannot go backe.

36. ఆమెనా తండ్రీ, యెహోవాకు మాట యిచ్చి యుంటివా? నీ నోటినుండి బయలుదేరిన మాట చొప్పున నాకు చేయుము; యెహోవా నీ శత్రువులైన అమ్మోనీ యులమీద పగతీర్చుకొని యున్నాడని అతనితో ననెను.

36. And she sayde vnto him: My father, if thou haue opened thy mouth vnto the Lorde, then do with me according to it that proceeded out of thy mouth, for as much as the Lorde hath auenged thee of thyne enemies ye children of Ammon.

37. మరియు ఆమె - నాకొరకు చేయవలసినదేదనగా రెండు నెలలవరకు నన్ను విడువుము, నేనును నా చెలికత్తెలును పోయి కొండలమీద ఉండి, నా కన్యాత్వమునుగూర్చి ప్రలాపించెదనని తండ్రితో చెప్పగా

37. And she sayd vnto her father, Do this much for me: Let me alone two monethes, that I may go to the mountaynes and bewayle my virginite, I and my felowes.

38. అతడు పొమ్మని చెప్పి రెండు నెలలవరకు ఆమెను పోనిచ్చెను గనుక ఆమె తన చెలికత్తెలతో కూడ పోయి కొండలమీద తన కన్యా త్వమునుగూర్చి ప్రలాపించెను.

38. And he sayd, go. And he sent her away two monethes: And so she went with her companions, & lamented her maydenhead vpon the mountaynes.

39. ఆ రెండు నెలల అంత మున ఆమె తన తండ్రియొద్దకు తిరిగిరాగా అతడు తాను మ్రొక్కుకొనిన మ్రొక్కుబడిచొప్పున ఆమెకు చేసెను.

39. And after the ende of two monethes, she turned agayne vnto her father, whiche dyd with her according to his vowe whiche he had vowed, & she had knowne no man: And it grewe to a custome in Israel,

40. ఆమె పురుషుని ఎరుగనేలేదు. ప్రతి సంవత్సరమున ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల కుమార్తెలు నాలుగు దినములు గిలాదుదేశస్థు డైన యెఫ్తా కుమార్తెను ప్రసిద్ధిచేయుటకద్దు.

40. The daughters of Israel came yere by yere to lamet the daughter of Iephthah the Gileadite, foure dayes in a yere.
