1. దేవుడు మోషేకును తన ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును చేసినదంతయు, యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఐగుప్తునుండి వెలుపలికి రప్పించిన సంగతియు, మిద్యాను యాజకుడును మోషే మామయునైన యిత్రో వినినప్పుడు

1. And Jethro the priest of Midian, the father-in-law of Moses, heard of all that the Lord did to His people Israel; for the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt.

2. మోషే మామయైన ఆ యిత్రో తనయొద్దకు పంపబడిన మోషే భార్యయైన సిప్పోరాను ఆమె యిద్దరి కుమారులను తోడుకొని వచ్చెను.

2. And Jethro the father-in-law of Moses, took Zipporah the wife of Moses after she had been sent away,

3. అతడు అన్యదేశములో నేను పరదేశిననుకొని వారిలో ఒకనికి గేర్షోము అని పేరుపెట్టెను.

3. and her two sons: the name of the one was Gershom, [his father] saying, I was a sojourner in a strange land;

4. నా తండ్రి దేవుడు నాకు సహాయమై ఫరో కత్తివాత నుండి నన్ను తప్పించెననుకొని రెండవవానికి ఎలీయెజెరని పేరు పెట్టెను.

4. and the name of the second [was] Eliezer, saying, For the God of my father is my helper, and He has rescued me out of the hand of Pharaoh.

5. మోషే మామయైన యిత్రో అతని కుమారులనిద్దరిని అతని భార్యను తోడుకొని అరణ్యములో దేవుని పర్వతము దగ్గర దిగిన మోషేయొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

5. And Jethro the father-in-law of Moses, and his sons and his wife, went forth to Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped on the mount of God.

6. యిత్రో అను నీ మామనైన నేనును నీ భార్యయు ఆమెతో కూడ ఆమె యిద్దరు కుమారులును నీయొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నామని మోషేకు వర్తమానము పంపగా

6. And it was told Moses, saying, Behold, your father-in-law Jethro is coming to you, and your wife and two sons with him.

7. మోషే తన మామను ఎదుర్కొన పోయి వందనము చేసి అతని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనెను. వారు ఒకరి క్షేమము ఒకరు తెలిసికొని గుడారములోనికి వచ్చిరి.

7. And Moses went forth to meet his father-in-law, and bowed down and kissed him, and they embraced each other, and he brought them into the tent.

8. తరువాత మోషే యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కొరకు ఫరోకును ఐగుప్తీయులకును చేసిన దంతయు, త్రోవలో తమకు వచ్చిన కష్టము యావత్తును, యెహోవా తమ్మును విడిపించిన సంగతియు తన మామతో వివరించి చెప్పెను.

8. And Moses related to his father-in-law all things that the Lord did to Pharaoh and all the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the labor that had befallen them in the way, and that the Lord had rescued them out of the hand of Pharaoh, and out of the hand of the Egyptians.

9. యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలొ నుండి విడిపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చేసిన మేలంతటిని గూర్చి యిత్రో సంతోషించెను.

9. And Jethro was amazed at all the good things which the Lord did to them, forasmuch as he rescued them out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh.

10. మరియు యిత్రో ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండియు ఫరో చేతిలో నుండియు మిమ్మును విడిపించి, ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిక్రిందనుండి ఈ ప్రజలను విడిపించిన యెహోవా స్తుతింపబడునుగాక.

10. And Jethro said, Blessed be the Lord, because He has rescued them out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh.

11. ఐగుప్తీయులు గర్వించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద చేసిన దౌర్జన్యమునుబట్టి ఆయన చేసినదాని చూచి, యెహోవా సమస్త దేవతలకంటె గొప్పవాడని యిప్పుడు నాకు తెలిసినదనెను.

11. For now I know that the Lord is great above all gods, because of this, wherein they attacked them.

12. మరియు మోషే మామయైన యిత్రో ఒక దహనబలిని బలులను దేవునికర్పింపగా అహరోనును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలందరును మోషే మామతో దేవుని సన్నిధిని భోజనము చేయవచ్చిరి.

12. And Jethro the father-in-law of Moses took whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for God, for Aaron and all the elders of Israel came to eat bread with the father-in-law of Moses before God.

13. మరునాడు మోషే ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చుటకు కూర్చుండగా, ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలము వరకు ప్రజలు మోషే యొద్ద నిలిచియుండిరి.

13. And it came to pass the next day that Moses sat to judge the people, and all the people stood by Moses from morning till evening.

14. మోషే ప్రజలకు చేసినదంతయు అతని మామ చూచి - నీవు ఈ ప్రజలకు చేయుచున్న యీ పని ఏమిటి? ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలమువరకు నీవు మాత్రము కూర్చుండగా ప్రజలందరు నీయొద్ద నిలిచి యుండనేల అని అడుగగా

14. And Jethro, having seen all that [Moses] did to the people, said, What is this that you do to the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand by you from morning till evening?

15. మోషే దేవుని తీర్పు తెలిసి కొనుటకు ప్రజలు నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు.

15. And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to seek judgment from God.

16. వారికి వ్యాజ్యెము ఏదైనను కలిగినయెడల నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు. నేను వారి విషయము న్యాయము తీర్చి, దేవుని కట్టడలను ఆయన ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను వారికి తెలుపుచున్నానని తన మామతో చెప్పెను.

16. For whenever there is a dispute among them, and they come to me, I give judgment upon each, and I teach them the ordinances of God and His law.

17. అందుకు మోషే మామ అతనితో నీవు చేయుచున్న పని మంచిది కాదు;

17. And the father-in-law of Moses said to him, The thing that you do is not good.

18. నీవును నీతో నున్న యీ ప్రజలును నిశ్చయముగా నలిగిపోవుదురు; ఈ పని నీకు మిక్కిలి భారము, అది నీవు ఒక్కడవే చేయచాలవు.

18. You will wear away with intolerable weariness, both you and all these people who are with you: this thing is hard, you will not be able to endure it by yourself.

19. కాబట్టి నా మాట వినుము. నేను నీకొక ఆలోచన చెప్పెదను. దేవుడు నీకు తోడైయుండును, ప్రజల పక్షమున నీవు దేవుని సముఖమందు ఉండి వారి వ్యాజ్యెములను దేవుని యొద్దకు తేవలెను.

19. Now then listen to me, and I will advise you, and God shall be with you: be all things to the people pertaining to God, and you shall bring their matters to God.

20. నీవు వారికి ఆయన కట్టడలను ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను బోధించి, వారు నడవవలసిన త్రోవను వారు చేయవలసిన కార్యములను వారికి తెలుపవలెను.

20. And you shall testify to them the ordinances of God and His law, and you shall show to them the ways in which they shall walk, and the works which they shall do.

21. మరియు నీవు ప్రజలందరిలో సామర్థ్యము దైవభక్తి సత్యాసక్తి కలిగి, లంచగొండులుకాని మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచుకొని, వేయిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, నూరుమందికి ఒకనిగాను, ఏబదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, పది మందికి ఒకనిగాను, వారిమీద న్యాయాధిపతులను నియమింపవలెను.

21. Also you shall select for yourself able men out of all the people, God fearing [men], righteous men, hating pride, and you shall set over the people captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens.

22. వారు ఎల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చవలెను. అయితే గొప్ప వ్యాజ్యెములన్నిటిని నీయొద్దకు తేవలెను. ప్రతి అల్పవిషయమును వారే తీర్చవచ్చును. అట్లు వారు నీతో కూడ ఈ భారమును మోసిన యెడల నీకు సుళువుగా ఉండును.

22. And they shall judge the people at all times, and those matters too burdensome they shall bring to you, but they shall judge the smaller cases; so they shall relieve you and help you.

23. దేవుడు ఈలాగు చేయుటకు నీకు సెలవిచ్చినయెడల నీవు ఈ పని చేయుచు దాని భారమును సహింపగలవు. మరియు ఈ ప్రజలందరు తమ తమ చోట్లకు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లుదురని చెప్పెను.

23. If you will do this thing, God shall strengthen you, and you shall be able to endure, and all this people shall go into their own place with peace.

24. మోషే తన మామ మాట విని అతడు చెప్పినదంతయు చేసెను.

24. And Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he said to him.

25. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిలో సామర్థ్యముగల మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచుకొని, వెయ్యిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, నూరు మందికి ఒకనిగాను, ఏబదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, పదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, న్యాయాధిపతులను ఏర్పాటు చేసి వారిని ప్రజలమీద ప్రధానులనుగా నియమించెను.

25. And Moses chose out able men out of all Israel, and he made them captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties and captains of tens over the people.

26. వారెల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చువారు. వారు కఠిన వ్యాజ్యెములను మోషే యొద్దకు తెచ్చుచు, స్వల్ప వ్యాజ్యెములను తామే తీర్చుచువచ్చిరి.

26. And they judged the people at all times; and every matter too burdensome they brought to Moses, but every light matter they judged themselves.

27. తరువాత మోషే తన మామను పంపివేయగా అతడు తన స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లెను.

27. And Moses dismissed his father-in-law, and he returned to his own land.
