1. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు తనకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొని ప్రయాణమై బెయేర్షెబాకు వచ్చి తన తండ్రియైన ఇస్సాకు దేవునికి బలులనర్పించెను.

1. Isra'el took everything he owned with him on his journey. He arrived at Be'er-Sheva and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Yitz'chak.

2. అప్పుడు రాత్రి దర్శనములయందు దేవుడు - యాకోబూ యాకోబూ అని ఇశ్రాయేలును పిలిచెను. అందుకతడు - చిత్తము ప్రభువా అనెను.

2. In a vision at night God called to Isra'el, 'Ya'akov! Ya'akov!' He answered, 'Here I am.'

3. ఆయన నేనే దేవుడను, నీ తండ్రి దేవుడను, ఐగుప్తునకు వెళ్లుటకు భయపడకుము, అక్కడ నిన్ను గొప్పజనముగా చేసెదను.

3. He said, 'I am God, the God of your father. Don't be afraid to go down to Egypt. It is there that I will make you into a great nation.

4. నేను ఐగుప్తునకు నీతోగూడ వచ్చెదను, అంతేకాదు నేను నిశ్చయముగా నిన్ను తిరిగి తీసికొని వచ్చెదను, యోసేపు నీ కన్నుల మీద తన చెయ్యియుంచునని సెలవియ్యగా

4. Not only will I go down with you to Egypt; but I will also bring you back here again, after Yosef has closed your eyes.'

5. యాకోబు లేచి బెయేర్షెబా నుండి వెళ్లెను. ఫరో అతని నెక్కించి తీసికొని వచ్చుటకు పంపిన బండ్లమీద ఇశ్రాయేలు కుమారులు తమ తండ్రియైన యాకోబును తమ పిల్లలను తమ భార్యలను ఎక్కించిరి.

5. So Ya'akov left Be'er-Sheva; the sons of Isra'el brought Ya'akov their father, their little ones and their wives in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry them.

6. వారు, అనగా యాకోబును అతని యావత్తు సంతానమును, తమ పశువులను తాము కనానులో సంపాదించిన సంపద యావత్తును తీసికొని ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిరి.

6. They took their cattle and their possessions which they had acquired in the land of Kena'an and arrived in Egypt, Ya'akov and all his descendants with him-

7. అతడు తన కుమారులను తన కుమారుల కుమారులను తన కుమార్తెలను తన కుమారుల కుమార్తెలను తన యావత్తు సంతానమును ఐగుప్తునకు తనతోకూడ తీసికొనివచ్చెను.

7. his sons, grandsons, daughters, granddaughters and all his descendants he brought with him into Egypt.

8. యాకోబును అతని కుమారులును ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలు కుమారుల పేళ్లు ఇవే;

8. These are the names of Isra'el's children who came into Egypt, Ya'akov and his sons: Re'uven Ya'akov's firstborn;

9. యాకోబు జ్యేష్ఠ కుమారుడు రూబేను. రూబేను కుమారులైన హనోకు పల్లు హెస్రోను కర్మీ.

9. and the sons of Re'uven- Hanokh, Pallu, Hetzron and Karmi.

10. షిమ్యోను కుమారులైన యెమూయేలు యామీను ఓహదు యాకీను సోహరు కనానీయురాలి కుమారుడైన షావూలు.

10. The sons of Shim'on: Y'mu'el, Yamin, Ohad, Yakhin, Tzochar and Sha'ul the son of a Kena'ani woman.

11. లేవి కుమారులైన గెర్షోను కహాతు మెరారి

11. The sons of Levi: Gershon, K'hat and M'rari.

12. యూదా కుమారులైన ఏరు ఓనాను షేలా పెరెసు జెరహు. ఆ ఏరును ఓనానును కనాను దేశములో చనిపోయిరి. పెరెసు కుమారులైన హెస్రోను హామూలు.

12. The sons of Y'hudah: 'Er, Onan, Shelah, Peretz and Zerach; but 'Er and Onan died in the land of Kena'an. The sons of Peretz were Hetzron and Hamul.

13. ఇశ్శాఖారు కుమారులైన తోలా పువ్వా యోబు షిమ్రోను.

13. The sons of Yissakhar: Tola, Puvah, Yov and Shimron.

14. జెబూలూను కుమారులైన సెరెదు ఏలోను యహలేలు.

14. The sons of Z'vulun: Sered, Elon and Yachle'el.

17. The children of Asher: Yimnah, Yishvah, Yishvi, B'ri'ah, and their sister Serach. The sons of B'ri'ah were Hever and Malki'el.

18. లాబాను తన కుమార్తెయైన లేయా కిచ్చిన జిల్పా కుమారులు వీరే . ఆమె యీ పదునారు మందిని యాకోబునకు కనెను.

18. These were the children of Zilpah, whom Lavan gave to Le'ah his daughter; she bore them to Ya'akov- sixteen people.

19. యాకోబు భార్యయైన రాహేలు కుమారులైన యోసేపు బెన్యామీను.

19. The sons of Rachel Ya'akov's wife: Yosef and Binyamin.

20. యోసేపునకు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిములు పుట్టిరి. వారిని ఐగుప్తు దేశమందు ఓనుకు యాజకుడగు పోతీఫెర కుమార్తెయైన ఆసెనతు అతనికి కనెను.

20. To Yosef in the land of Egypt were born M'nasheh and Efrayim, whom Osnat the daughter of Poti-Fera priest of On bore to him.

21. బెన్యామీను కుమారులైన బెల బేకెరు అష్బేలు గెరా నయమాను ఏహీరోషు ముప్పీము హుప్పీము ఆర్దు.

21. The sons of Binyamin: Bela, Bekher, Ashbel, Gera, Na'aman, Echi, Rosh, Mupim, Hupim and Ard.

23. The sons of Dan: Hushim.

24. నఫ్తాలి కుమారులైన యహనేలు గూనీ యేసెరు షిల్లేము.

24. The sons of Naftali: Yachtze'el, Guni, Yetzer and Shillem.

25. లాబాను తన కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలునకు ఇచ్చిన బిల్హా కుమారులు వీరే. ఆమె వారిని యాకోబునకు కనెను. వారందరు ఏడుగురు.

25. These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Lavan gave to Rachel his daughter; she bore them to Ya'akov- in sum, seven people.

26. యాకోబు కోడండ్రను వినాయించి అతని గర్భవాసమున పుట్టి యాకోబుతో ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిన వారందరు అరువది ఆరుగురు.

26. All the people belonging to Ya'akov coming into Egypt, his direct descendants (not counting Ya'akov's sons' wives), totaled sixty-six.

27. ఐగుప్తులో అతనికి పుట్టిన యోసేపు కుమారులిద్దరు; ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిన యాకోబు కుటుంబపు వారందరు డెబ్బది మంది.

27. The sons of Yosef, born to him in Egypt, were two in number. Thus all the people in Ya'akov's family who entered Egypt numbered seventy.

28. అతడు గోషెనుకు త్రోవ చూపుటకు యోసేపు నొద్దకు తనకు ముందుగా యూదాను పంపెను. వారు గోషెను దేశమునకు రాగా

28. Ya'akov sent Y'hudah ahead of him to Yosef, so that the latter might guide him on the road to Goshen; thus they arrived in the land of Goshen.

29. యోసేపు తన రథమును సిద్ధము చేయించి తన తండ్రియైన ఇశ్రాయేలును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు గోషెనుకు వెళ్లి అతనికి కనబడెను. అప్పుడతడు అతని మెడమీద పడి అతని మెడ పట్టుకొని యెంతో ఏడ్చెను.

29. Yosef prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet Isra'el his father. He presented himself to him, embraced him and wept on his neck for a long time.

30. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు యోసేపుతో - నీవింక బ్రదికియున్నావు; నీ ముఖము చూచితిని గనుక నేనికను చనిపోవుదునని చెప్పెను.

30. Then Isra'el said to Yosef, 'Now I can die, because I have seen your face and seen that you are still alive.'

31. యోసేపు తన సహోదరులను తన తండ్రి కుటుంబపు వారినిచూచి - నేను వెళ్లి యిది ఫరోకు తెలియచేసి, కనాను దేశములో ఉండిన నా సహోదరులును నా తండ్రి కుటుంబపువారును నాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి;

31. Yosef said to his brothers and his father's family, 'I'm going up to tell Pharaoh. I'll say to him, 'My brothers and my father's family, who were in the land of Kena'an, have come to me.

32. ఆ మనుష్యులు పశువులు గలవారు, వారు గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరులు. వారు తమ గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను తమకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొనివచ్చిరని అతనితో చెప్పెదను.

32. The men are shepherds and keepers of livestock; they have brought their flocks, their herds and all their possessions.'

33. గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరియైన ప్రతివాడు ఐగుప్తీయులకు హేయుడు గనుక ఫరో మిమ్మును పిలిపించి మీ వృత్తి యేమిటని అడిగినయెడల

33. Now when Pharaoh summons you and asks, 'What is your occupation?'

34. మీరు గోషెను దేశమందు కాపురముండునట్లు - మా చిన్నతనమునుండి ఇదివరకు నీ దాసులమైన మేమును మా పూర్వికులును పశువులు గల వారమై యున్నామని ఉత్తరమియ్యుడని చెప్పెను.

34. tell him, 'Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth until now, both we and our ancestors.' This will ensure that you will live in the land of Goshen- for any shepherd is abhorrent to the Egyptians.'
