1. మరల యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. The LORD said:

2. తండ్రులు ద్రాక్షకాయలు తినగా పిల్లల పళ్లు పులిసెనని మీరు చెప్పుచు వచ్చెదరే; ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమునుగూర్చి ఈ సామెత మీ రెందుకు పలికెదరు?

2. Ezekiel, I hear the people of Israel using the old saying, 'Sour grapes eaten by parents leave a sour taste in the mouths of their children.'

3. నా జీవముతోడు ఈ సామెత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో మీరిక పలుకరు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. Now tell them that I am the LORD God, and as surely as I live, that saying will no longer be used in Israel.

4. మనుష్యులందరు నా వశములో ఉన్నారు, తండ్రులేమి కుమారులేమి అందరును నా వశములో ఉన్నారు; పాపముచేయువాడెవడో వాడే మరణము నొందును.

4. The lives of all people belong to me--parents as well as children. Only those who sin will be put to death.

5. ఒకడు నీతిపరుడై నీతిన్యాయములను అనుసరించువాడైయుండి

5. Suppose there is a truly good man who always does what is fair and right.

6. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు, బహిష్టయైనదానిని కూడకయు,

6. He refuses to eat meat sacrificed to foreign gods at local shrines or to worship Israel's idols. He doesn't have sex with someone else's wife or with a woman having her monthly period.

7. ఎవనినైనను భాదపెట్ట కయు, ఋణస్థునికి అతని తాకట్టును చెల్లించి బలాత్కారముచేత ఎవనికైనను నష్టము కలుగజేయకయునుండువాడై, ఆకలిగల వానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

7. He never cheats or robs anyone and always returns anything taken as security for a loan; he gives food and clothes to the poor

8. వడ్డికి అప్పియ్యకయు, లాభము చేపట్టకయు, అన్యాయము చేయకయు, నిష్పక్షపాతముగా న్యాయము తీర్చి

8. and doesn't charge interest when lending money. He refuses to do anything evil; he is fair to everyone

9. యథార్థపరుడై నా కట్టడలను గైకొనుచు నా విధులనను సరించుచుండినయెడల వాడే నిర్దోషియగును, నిజముగా వాడు బ్రదుకును; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. and faithfully obeys my laws and teachings. This man is good, and I promise he will live.

10. అయితే ఆ నీతిపరునికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా వాడు బలాత్కారము చేయువాడై ప్రాణహానికరుడై, చేయరాని క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేసి

10. But suppose this good man has an evil son who is violent and commits sins

11. చేయవలసిన మంచి క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయుటయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరుపుటయు,

11. his father never did. He eats meat at local shrines, has sex with someone else's wife,

12. దీనులను దరిద్రులను భాదపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టము కలుగజేయుటయు, తాకట్టు చెల్లింపకపోవుటయు, విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూచి హేయకృత్యములు జరిగించుటయు,

12. cheats the poor, and robs people. He keeps what is given to him as security for a loan. He worships idols, does disgusting things,

13. అప్పిచ్చి వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనుటయు, లాభము చేపట్టుటయు ఈ మొదలగు క్రియలు చేసినయెడల వాడు బ్రదుకునా? బ్రదుకడు, ఈ హేయక్రియలన్ని చేసెను గనుక అవశ్యముగా వానికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపబడును, వాడు తన ప్రాణమునకు తానే ఉత్తరవాది యగును.

13. and charges high interest when lending money. An evil man like that will certainly not live. He is the one who has done these horrible sins, so it's his own fault that he will be put to death.

14. అయితే అతనికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా ఆ కుమారుడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని చూచి, ఆలోచించుకొని అట్టి క్రియలు చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా

14. But suppose this evil man has a son who sees his father do these things and refuses to act like him.

15. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహ ములతట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు,

15. He doesn't eat meat at local shrines or worship Israel's idols, and he doesn't have sex with someone else's wife.

16. ఎవనినైనను బాధపెట్టకయు, తాకట్టు ఉంచు కొనకయు, బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టపరచకయు, ఆకలి గలవానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

16. He never cheats or robs anyone and doesn't even demand security for a loan. He gives food and clothes to the poor

17. బీదవాని మీద అన్యాయముగా చెయ్యి వేయక లాభముకొరకు అప్పియ్యకయు, వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనకయు నుండినవాడై, నా విధుల నాచరించుచు నా కట్టడల ననుసరించుచు నుండిన యెడల అతడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన దోషమునుబట్టి చావడు, అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

17. and refuses to do anything evil or to charge interest. And he obeys all my laws and teachings. Such a man will live. His own father sinned, but this good man will not be put to death for the sins of his father.

18. అతని తండ్రి క్రూరుడై పరులను బాధపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత తన సహోదరులను నష్టపరచి తన జనులలో తగని క్రియలు చేసెను గనుక అతడే తన దోషమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

18. It is his father who will die for cheating and robbing and doing evil.

19. అయితే మీరు కుమారుడు తన తండ్రి యొక్క దోష శిక్షను ఏల మోయుటలేదని చెప్పుకొను చున్నారు. కుమారుడు నీతిన్యాయముల ననుసరించి నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి గైకొనెను గనుక అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

19. You may wonder why a son isn't punished for the sins of his father. It is because the son does what is right and obeys my laws.

20. పాపము చేయువాడే మరణము నొందును; తండ్రియొక్క దోష శిక్షను కుమారుడు మోయుటలేదని కుమారుని దోష శిక్షను తండ్రిమోయడు, నీతిపరుని నీతి ఆ నీతిపరునికే చెందును, దుష్టుని దుష్టత్వము ఆ దుష్టునికే చెందును.

20. Only those who sin will be put to death. Children won't suffer for the sins of their parents, and parents won't suffer for the sins of their children. Good people will be rewarded for what they do, and evil people will be punished for what they do.

21. అయితే దుష్టుడు తాను చేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని విడిచి, నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి నీతిని అనుసరించి న్యాయము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు మరణము నొందడు, అవశ్యముగా అతడు బ్రదుకును.

21. Suppose wicked people stop sinning and start obeying my laws and doing right. They won't be put to death.

22. అతడు చేసిన అపరాధములలో ఒకటియు జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రాదు, అతని నీతినిబట్టి అతడు బ్రదుకును.

22. All their sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they did right.

23. దుష్టులు మరణము నొందుటచేత నా కేమాత్రమైన సంతోషము కలుగునా? వారు తమ ప్రవర్తనను దిద్దుకొని బ్రదుకుటయే నాకు సంతోషము; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

23. I, the LORD God, don't like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing them turn from their sins and live.

24. అయితే నీతిపరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసి, దుష్టులు చేయు హేయక్రియలన్నిటి ప్రకారము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు బ్రదుకునా? అతడు చేసిన నీతి కార్యములు ఏమాత్రమును జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రావు, అతడు విశ్వాసఘాతకుడై చేసిన పాపమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

24. But when good people start sinning and doing disgusting things, will they live? No! All their good deeds will be forgotten, and they will be put to death because of their sins.

25. అయితే యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయము కాదని మీరు చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మాట ఆలకించుడి, నా మార్గము న్యాయమే మీ మార్గమే గదా అన్యాయమైనది?

25. You people of Israel accuse me of being unfair! But listen--I'm not unfair; you are!

26. నీతి పరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసినయెడల అతడు దానినిబట్టి మరణము నొందును; తాను పాపము చేయుటనుబట్టియే గదా అతడు మరణమునొందును?

26. If good people start doing evil, they must be put to death, because they have sinned.

27. మరియు దుష్టుడు తాను చేయుచు వచ్చిన దుష్టత్వమునుండి మరలి నీతి న్యాయములను జరిగించిన యెడల తన ప్రాణము రక్షించుకొనును.

27. And if wicked people start doing right, they will save themselves from punishment.

28. అతడు ఆలోచించుకొని తాను చేయుచువచ్చిన అతిక్రమక్రియ లన్నిటిని చేయక మానెను గనుక అతడు మరణమునొందక అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

28. They will think about what they've done and stop sinning, and so they won't be put to death.

29. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయముకాదని చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మార్గము న్యాయమేగాని మీ మార్గము న్యాయము కాదు.

29. But you still say that I am unfair. You are the ones who have done wrong and are unfair!

30. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, యెవని ప్రవర్తననుబట్టి వానికి శిక్ష విధింతును. మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొని మీ అక్రమములు మీకు శిక్షాకారణములు కాకుండునట్లు వాటినన్నిటిని విడిచిపెట్టుడి.

30. I will judge each of you for what you've done. So stop sinning, or else you will certainly be punished.

31. మీరు జరిగించిన అక్రమ క్రియలన్నిటిని విడిచి నూతన హృదయమును నూతన బుద్దియు తెచ్చుకొనుడి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, మీరెందుకు మరణము నొందుదురు? ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

31. Give up your evil ways and start thinking pure thoughts. And be faithful to me! Do you really want to be put to death for your sins?

32. మరణమునొందువాడు మరణము నొందుటనుబట్టి నేను సంతోషించువాడను కాను. కావున మీరు మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొనుడి అప్పుడు మీరు బ్రదుకుదురు; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

32. I, the LORD God, don't want to see that happen to anyone. So stop sinning and live!
