1. బాలుడైన సమూయేలు ఏలీయెదుట యెహోవాకుపరిచర్య చేయుచుండెను. ఆ దినములలో యెహోవా వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమగుట అరుదు, ప్రత్యక్షము తరుచుగా తటస్థించుటలేదు.

1. The child Sh'mu'el continued ministering to ADONAI under 'Eli's direction. Now, in those days ADONAI rarely spoke, and visions were few.

2. ఆ కాలమందు ఏలీ కన్నులు మంద దృష్టి గలవైనందున అతడు చూడలేక తనస్థలమందు పండు కొనియుండగాను

2. Once, during that period, 'Eli had gone to bed- his eyes had begun to grow dim, so that it was hard for him to see.

3. దీపము ఆరిపోకమునుపు సమూయేలు దేవుని మందసమున్న యెహోవా మందిరములో పండు కొనియుండగాను

3. The lamp of God had not yet gone out; and Sh'mu'el had lain down to sleep in the sanctuary of ADONAI, where the ark of God was.

4. యెహోవా సమూయేలును పిలిచెను. అతడుచిత్తమండి నేనున్నానని చెప్పి

4. ADONAI called, 'Sh'mu'el!' and he answered, 'Here I am.'

5. ఏలీదగ్గరకు పోయినీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గదా నేను వచ్చినాననెను. అతడునేను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మని చెప్పగా అతడు పోయి పండుకొనెను.

5. Then he ran to 'Eli and said, 'Here I am- you called me?' But he said, 'I didn't call you; go back, and lie down.' So he went and lay down.

6. యెహోవా మరల సమూ యేలును పిలువగా సమూయేలు లేచి ఏలీయొద్దకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గనుక వచ్చితిననెను. అయితే అతడు నా కుమారుడా, నేను నిన్ను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మనెను.

6. ADONAI called a second time, 'Sh'mu'el!' Sh'mu'el got up, went to 'Eli and said, 'Here I am- you called me.' He answered, 'I didn't call, my son; lie down again.'

7. సమూయేలు అప్పటికి యెహో వాను ఎరుగకుండెను, యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ఇంక ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు.

7. Now Sh'mu'el didn't yet know ADONAI; the word of ADONAI had not yet been revealed to him.

8. యెహోవా మూడవ మారు సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు లేచి ఏలీ దగ్గరకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివే; యిదిగో వచ్చితిననగా, ఏలీ యెహోవా ఆ బాలుని పిలిచెనని గ్రహించి

8. ADONAI called, 'Sh'mu'el!' again, a third time. He got up, went to 'Eli and said, 'Here I am- you called me.' At last 'Eli realized it was ADONAI calling the child.

9. నీవు పోయి, పండుకొమ్ము, ఎవరైన నిన్ను పిలిచినయెడలయెహోవా, నీ దాసుడు ఆలకించుచున్నాడు, ఆజ్ఞనిమ్మని చెప్పుమని సమూయేలుతో అనగా సమూయేలు పోయి తన స్థలమందు పండుకొనెను.

9. So 'Eli said to Sh'mu'el, 'Go, and lie down. If you are called again, say, 'Speak, ADONAI; your servant is listening.' Sh'mu'el went and lay down in his place.

10. తరువాత యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షమై నిలిచి ఆ రీతిగాసమూయేలూ సమూ యేలూ, అని పిలువగా సమూయేలునీ దాసుడు ఆల కించుచున్నాడు ఆజ్ఞయిమ్మనెను.

10. ADONAI came and stood, then spoke as at the other times: 'Sh'mu'el! Sh'mu'el!' Then Sh'mu'el said, 'Speak; your servant is listening.'

11. అంతట యెహోవా సమూయేలుతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనుఇశ్రాయేలులో నేనొకకార్యము చేయబోవుచున్నాను; దానిని వినువారందరి చెవులు గింగురుమనును.

11. ADONAI said to Sh'mu'el, 'Look! I am going to do something in Isra'el that will make both ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.

12. ఆ దినమున ఏలీయొక్క యింటివారినిగురించి నేను చెప్పినదంతయు వారిమీదికి రప్పింతును. దాని చేయ మొదలుపెట్టి దాని ముగింతును.

12. On that day I will do against 'Eli everything I have said with regard to his family, from beginning to end.

13. తన కుమారులు తమ్మును తాము శాపగ్రస్తులగా చేసికొను చున్నారని తానెరిగియు వారిని అడ్డగించలేదు గనుక అతని యింటికి నిత్యమైన శిక్ష విధింతునని నేను అతనికి తెలియజేయుచున్నాను.

13. For I have told him that I will execute judgment against his family forever, because of his wickedness in not rebuking his sons, even though he knew that they had brought a curse on themselves.

14. కాబట్టి ఏలీ యింటివారి దోషమునకు బలిచేతనైనను నైవేద్యముచేతనైనను ఎన్నటికిని ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము జేయబడదని నేను ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా ఆజ్ఞా పించితిని.

14. Therefore I have sworn to the family of 'Eli that the wickedness of 'Eli's family will never be atoned for by any sacrifice or offering.'

15. తరువాత సమూయేలు ఉదయమగువరకు పండుకొని, లేచి యెహోవా మందిరపు తలుపులను తీసెనుగాని, భయపడి తనకు కలిగిన దర్శన సంగతి ఏలీతో చెప్పక పోయెను.

15. Sh'mu'el lay there until morning; then he opened the doors of the house of ADONAI. But Sh'mu'el was afraid to tell 'Eli the vision.

16. అయితే ఏలీసమూయేలూ నా కుమారుడా, అని సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు చిత్తము నేనిక్కడ ఉన్నాననెను.

16. Then 'Eli called Sh'mu'el: 'Sh'mu'el, my son!' He answered, 'Here I am.'

17. ఏలీనీతో యెహోవా యేమి సెలవిచ్చెనో మరుగుచేయక దయచేసి నాతో చెప్పుము. ఆయన నీతో సెలవిచ్చిన సంగతులలో ఏదైన నీవు మరుగుచేసినయెడల అంతకంటె అధికమైన కీడు ఆయన నీకు కలుగజేయునుగాకని చెప్పగా

17. Eli said, 'What did he say to you? Please, don't hide it from me; may God do whatever he said and worse, if you hide from me anything he said to you.'

18. సమూయేలు దేనిని మరుగుచేయక సంగతి అంతయు అతనికి తెలియజెప్పెను. ఏలీ వినిసెలవిచ్చినవాడు యెహోవా; తన దృష్ఠికి అనుకూలమైనదానిని ఆయన చేయునుగాక అనెను.

18. So Sh'mu'el told him every word and hid nothing. 'Eli replied, 'It is ADONAI; let him do what seems good to him.'

19. సమూయేలు పెద్దవాడు కాగా యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయున్నందున అతని మాటలలో ఏదియు తప్పిపోలేదు.

19. Sh'mu'el kept growing, ADONAI was with him, and he let none of his words fall to the ground.

20. కాబట్టి సమూయేలు యెహోవాకు ప్రవక్తగా స్థిరపడెనని దాను మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షెబా వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు తెలిసికొనిరి

20. All Isra'el from Dan to Be'er-Sheva became aware that Sh'mu'el had been confirmed as a prophet of ADONAI.

21. మరియు షిలోహులో యెహోవా మరల దర్శనమిచ్చుచుండెను. షిలోహులో యెహోవా తన వాక్కు చేత సమూయేలునకు ప్రత్యక్షమగుచు వచ్చెను. సమూయేలుమాట ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరిలో వెల్లడియాయెను.

21. ADONAI continued appearing in Shiloh, for ADONAI revealed himself to Sh'mu'el in Shiloh by the word of ADONAI.
