1. ఆదాము తన భార్యయైన హవ్వను కూడినప్పుడు ఆమె గర్భవతియై కయీనును కని యెహోవా దయవలన నేనొక మనుష్యుని సంపాదించుకొన్నాననెను.

1. And Adam lay with Heva is wife, which conceived and bare Cain, and said: I have gotten a man of the LORD.

2. తరువాత ఆమె అతని తమ్ముడగు హేబెలును కనెను. హేబెలు గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరి; కయీను భూమిని సేద్యపరచువాడు.

2. And she proceeded forth and bare his brother Abel: And Abel became a shepherd, and Cain became a plowman.

3. కొంతకాలమైన తరువాత కయీను పొలముపంటలో కొంత యెహోవాకు అర్పణగా తెచ్చెను.

3. And it fortuned in process of time, that Cain brought of the fruit of the earth: an offering unto the LORD.

4. హేబెలు కూడ తన మందలో తొలుచూలున పుట్టిన వాటిలో క్రొవ్విన వాటిని కొన్ని తెచ్చెను. యెహోవా హేబెలును అతని యర్పణను లక్ష్యపెట్టెను;

4. And Abel, he brought also of the firstlings of his sheep and of the fat of them. And the LORD looked unto Abel and to his offering:

5. but unto Cain and unto his offering, looked he not. And Cain was wroth exceedingly, and lowered.

6. యెహోవా కయీనుతో నీకు కోపమేల? ముఖము చిన్నబుచ్చుకొని యున్నావేమి?

6. And the LORD said unto Cain: why art thou angry, and why lowerest thou? Wotest thou not if thou dost well thou shalt receive it?

7. నీవు సత్క్రియ చేసిన యెడల తలనెత్తుకొనవా? సత్క్రియ చేయనియెడల వాకిట పాపము పొంచియుండును; నీ యెడల దానికి వాంఛ కలుగును నీవు దానిని ఏలుదువనెను.

7. But and if thou dost evil, by and by thy sin lieth open in the door. Notwithstanding let it be subdued unto thee, and see thou rule it.

8. కయీను తన తమ్ముడైన హేబెలుతో మాటలాడెను. వారు పొలములో ఉన్నప్పుడు కయీను తన తమ్ముడైన హేబెలు మీద పడి అతనిని చంపెను.

8. And Cain talked with Abel his brother. And as soon as they were in the fields, Cain fell upon Abel his brother and slew him.

9. యెహోవా నీ తమ్ముడైన హేబెలు ఎక్కడున్నాడని కయీను నడుగగా అతడు నేనెరుగను; నా తమ్మునికి నేను కావలివాడనా అనెను.

9. And the LORD said unto Cain: where is Abel thy brother? And he said: I can not tell, am I my brother's keeper?

10. అప్పుడాయన నీవు చేసినపని యేమిటి? నీ తమ్ముని రక్తము యొక్క స్వరము నేలలో నుండి నాకు మొరపెట్టుచున్నది.

10. And he said: What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood cryeth unto me out of the earth.

11. కావున నీ తమ్ముని రక్తమును నీ చేతిలో నుండి పుచ్చుకొనుటకు నోరు తెరచిన యీ నేలమీద ఉండకుండ, నీవు శపింపబడినవాడవు;

11. And now cursed be thou as pertaining to the earth, which opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood of thine hand.

12. నీవు నేలను సేద్యపరుచునప్పుడు అది తన సారమును ఇక మీదట నీకియ్యదు; నీవు భూమిమీద దిగులు పడుచు దేశదిమ్మరివై యుందువనెను.

12. For when thou tillest the ground she shall henceforth not give her power unto thee. A vagabond and a renegade shalt thou be upon the earth.

13. అందుకు కయీనునా దోషశిక్ష నేను భరింపలేనంత గొప్పది.

13. And Cain said unto the LORD: my sin is greater, than that it may be forgiven.

14. నేడు ఈ ప్రదేశమునుండి నన్ను వెళ్లగొట్టితివి; నీ సన్నిధికి రాకుండ వెలివేయబడి దిగులుపడుచు భూమిమీద దేశదిమ్మరినై యుందును. కావున నన్ను కనుగొనువాడెవడో వాడు నన్ను చంపునని యెహోవాతో అనెను.

14. Behold thou castest me out this day from off the face of the earth, and from thy sight must I hide myself, and I must be wandering and a vagabond upon the earth: Moreover whosoever findeth me, will kill me.

15. అందుకు యెహోవా అతనితో కాబట్టి యెవడైనను కయీనును చంపినయెడల వానికి ప్రతిదండన యేడంతలు కలుగుననెను. మరియు ఎవడైనను కయీనును కనుగొని అతనిని చంపక యుండునట్లు యెహోవా అతనికి ఒక గురుతు వేసెను.

15. And the LORD said unto him: Not so, but whosoever slayeth Cain shall be punished sevenfold. And the LORD put a mark upon Cain that no man that found him should kill him.

16. అప్పుడు కయీను యెహోవా సన్నిధిలోనుండి బయలుదేరి వెళ్లి ఏదెనుకు తూర్పుదిక్కున నోదు దేశములో కాపురముండెను.

16. And Cain went out from the face of the LORD, and dwelt in the land Nod, on the east side of Eden.

17. కయీను తన భార్యను కూడినప్పుడు ఆమె గర్భవతియై హనోకును కనెను. అప్పుడతడు ఒక ఊరు కట్టించి ఆ ఊరికి తన కుమారుని పేరునుబట్టి హనోకను పేరు పెట్టెను.

17. And Cain lay with his wife, which conceived and bare Henoch. And he was building a city and called the name of it after the name of his son, Henoch.

18. హనోకుకు ఈరాదు పుట్టెను. ఈరాదు మహూయాయేలును కనెను. మహూయాయేలు మతూషాయేలును కనెను. మతూషాయేలు లెమెకును కనెను.

18. And Henoch begat Irad. And Irad begat Mahuiael. And Mahuiael begat Mathusael. And Mathusael begat Lamech.

19. లెమెకు ఇద్దరు స్త్రీలను పెండ్లి చేసికొనెను; వారిలో ఒక దాని పేరు ఆదా రెండవదాని పేరు సిల్లా.

19. And Lamech took him two wives: the one was called Ada, and the other Zilla:

20. ఆదా యాబాలును కనెను. అతడు పశువులు గలవాడై గుడారములలో నివసించువారికి మూలపురుషుడు.

20. And Ada bare Jabal, of whom came they that dwell in tents and possess cattle.

21. అతని సహోదరుని పేరు యూబాలు. ఇతడు సితారాను సానికను వాడుక చేయు వారికందరికిని మూలపురుషుడు.

21. And his brother's name was Jubal: of him came all that exercise them selves on the harp and on the organs.

22. మరియు సిల్లా తూబల్కయీనును కనెను. అతడు పదునుగల రాగి పని ముట్లన్నిటిని ఇనుప పనిముట్లన్నిటిని చేయువాడు. తూబల్కయీను సహోదరి పేరు నయమా.

22. And Zilla she also bare Tubalcain a worker in metal and a father of all that grave in brass and iron. And Tubalcain's sister was called Naema.

23. లెమెకు తన భార్యలతో ఓ ఆదా ఓ సిల్లా, నా పలుకు వినుడి లెమెకు భార్యలారా, నా మాట ఆలకించుడి నన్ను గాయపరచినందుకై ఒక మనుష్యుని చంపితిని నన్ను దెబ్బ కొట్టినందుకై ఒక పడుచువాని చంపితిని

23. Then said Lamech unto his wives Ada and Zilla: hear my voice ye wives of Lamech and hearken unto my words, for I have slain a man and wounded myself, and have slain a young man, and got myself stripes:

24. ఏడంతలు ప్రతి దండన కయీను కోసము, వచ్చిన యెడల లెమెకు కోసము డెబ్బది యేడంతలు వచ్చుననెను.

24. For Cain shall be avenged sevenfold: but Lamech seventy times sevenfold.

25. ఆదాము మరల తన భార్యను కూడినప్పుడు ఆమె కుమారుని కని కయీను చంపిన హేబెలునకు ప్రతిగా దేవుడు నాకు మరియొక సంతానమును నియమించెననుకొని అతనికి షేతు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.
లూకా 3:36-38

25. Adam also lay with his wife yet again, and she bare a son and called his name Seth For God (said she) hath given me another son for Abel whom Cain slew.

26. మరియు షేతునకు కూడ కుమారుడు పుట్టెను; అతనికి ఎనోషను పేరు పెట్టెను. అప్పుడు యెహోవా నామమున ప్రార్థన చేయుట ఆరంభమైనది.

26. And Seth begat a son and called his name Enos. And in that time began men to call on the name of the LORD.
