1. ఏలీయా చేసినదంతయును అతడు ఖడ్గముచేత ప్రవక్తల నందరిని చంపించిన సంగతియును అహాబు యెజెబెలునకు తెలియజెప్పగా

1. And Ahab tolde Iezabel all that Elias had done, and how he had slayne al the prophetes with the sworde.

2. యెజెబెలు ఒక దూతచేత ఏలీయాకు ఈ వర్తమానము పంపించెనురేపు ఈ వేళకు నేను నీ ప్రాణ మును వారిలో ఒకని ప్రాణమువలె చేయనియెడల దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయునుగాక.

2. Then Iezabel sent a messenger vnto Elias, saying: So and so let the gods do to me, if I make not thy soule lyke one of theirs by to morowe this time.

3. కాబట్టి అతడు ఈ సమాచారము తెలిసికొని, లేచి తన ప్రాణము కాపాడు కొనుటకై పోయి, యూదా సంబంధమైన బెయేర్షెబాకు చేరి, అచ్చట ఉండుమని తన దాసునితో చెప్పి

3. When he sawe that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beerseba in Iuda, and left his seruaunt there.

4. తాను ఒక దినప్రయాణము అరణ్యములోనికి పోయి యొక బదరీవృక్షముక్రింద కూర్చుండి, మరణా పేక్షగలవాడైయెహోవా, నా పితరులకంటె నేను ఎక్కువవాడను కాను, ఇంతమట్టుకు చాలును, నా ప్రాణము తీసికొనుము అని ప్రార్థనచేసెను.

4. But he him selfe went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sat downe vnder a Iuniper tree, and desired for his soule that he might dye, and sayde: It is nowe enough O Lorde, take my soule, for I am not better then my fathers.

5. అతడు బదరీవృక్షము క్రింద పరుండి నిద్రించుచుండగా ఒక దేవదూత వచ్చి అతని ముట్టినీవు లేచి భోజనము చేయుమని చెప్పెను.

5. And as he lay and slept vnder the Iuniper tree: behold an angel touched him, and sayde vnto him: Up, and eate.

6. అతడు చూచినంతలో అతని తలదగ్గర నిప్పుల మీద కాల్చబడిన అప్పమును నీళ్ల బుడ్డియు కనబడెను గనుక అతడు భోజనముచేసి తిరిగి పరుండెను.

6. And when he loked about him, beholde there was a cake baken on the coales, and a vessell of water at his head: And he dyd eate and drinke, and layde him downe againe to sleepe.

7. అయితే యెహోవా దూత రెండవమారు వచ్చి అతని ముట్టినీ శక్తికి మించిన ప్రయాణము నీకు సిద్ధమై యున్నది, నీవు లేచి భోజనము చేయుమని చెప్పినప్పుడు

7. And the angel of the Lord came againe the seconde time, and touched him, and sayde: Up, and eate, for thou hast yet a great iourney.

8. అతడు లేచి భోజనముచేసి, ఆ భోజనపు బలముచేత నలువది రాత్రింబగళ్లు ప్రయాణముచేసి, దేవుని పర్వతమని పేరుపెట్టబడిన హోరేబునకు వచ్చి

8. And he arose, and dyd eate and drinke, & walked in the strength of that meate fourtie dayes and fourtie nightes, euen vnto Horeb the mount of God.

9. అచ్చట ఉన్న యొక గుహలోచేరి బసచేసెను. యెహోవావాక్కు అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమైఏలీయా, యిచ్చట నీవేమి చేయుచున్నావని అతని నడుగగా

9. When he came thyther vnto a caue, he lodged therein al night: And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and sayd vnto him: What doest thou here Elias?

10. అతడుఇశ్రాయేలు వారు నీ నిబంధనను త్రోసి వేసి నీ బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టి నీ ప్రవక్తలను ఖడ్గముచేత హతము చేసిరి. సైన్యముల కధిపతియు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా కొరకు మహా రోషముగలవాడనై నేను ఒక డనుమాత్రమే మిగిలియుండగా వారు నా ప్రాణమును కూడ తీసివేయుటకై చూచుచున్నారని మనవిచేసెను.

10. And he aunswered, I haue ben ielous for the Lorde God of hoastes sake: For the children of Israel haue forsaken thy couenaunt, broken downe thyne aulters, and slayne thy prophetes with the sword: and I onely am left, and they seke my lyfe to take it away.

11. అందుకాయననీవు పోయి పర్వతముమీద యెహోవా సముఖమందు నిలిచి యుండుమని సెలవిచ్చెను. అంతట యెహోవా ఆ వైపున సంచరింపగా బలమైన పెనుగాలి లేచెను, యెహోవా భయమునకు పర్వతములు బద్దలాయెను; శిలలు ఛిన్నా భిన్నములాయెను గాని యెహోవా ఆ గాలి దెబ్బయందు ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు. గాలి పోయిన తరువాత భూకంపము కలిగెను గాని ఆ భూకంపమునందు యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు.

11. And he sayd: Come out and stand vpon ye mount before the Lorde. And behold, the Lorde went by, & a mightie strong winde that rent the mountaynes and brake the rockes before the Lorde, but the Lord was not in the winde: And after the winde, came an earthquake, but the Lorde was not in the earthquake:

12. ఆ భూకంపమైన తరువాత మెరుపు పుట్టెను గాని ఆ మెరుపునందు యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు, మెరుపు ఆగిపోగా మిక్కిలి నిమ్మళముగా మాటలాడు ఒక స్వరము వినబడెను.

12. And after the earthquake came fire, but the Lorde was not in the fire: And after the fire, came a small still voyce.

13. ఏలీయా దాని విని తన దుప్పటితో ముఖము కప్పుకొని బయలుదేరి గుహవాకిట నిలిచెను. అంతలో ఏలీయా, ఇచ్చట నీవేమి చేయుచున్నావని యొకడు పలికిన మాట అతనికి వినబడెను.

13. And when Elias hearde, he couered his face with his mantle, and went out, and stoode in the entring in of the caue: And beholde, there came a voyce vnto him, & said: What doest thou here Elias?

14. అందుకతడుఇశ్రా యేలువారు నీ నిబంధనను త్రోసివేసి నీ బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టి నీ ప్రవక్తలను ఖడ్గముచేత హతము చేసిరి. సైన్య ములకధిపతియు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా కొరకు మహా రోషముగలవాడనై నేను ఒకడను మాత్రమే మిగిలియుండగా వారు నా ప్రాణము తీసివేయుటకై చూచు చున్నారని చెప్పెను.

15. అప్పుడు యెహోవా అతనికి సెల విచ్చిన దేమనగానీవు మరలి అరణ్యమార్గమున దమస్కు నకు పోయి దానిలో ప్రవేశించి సిరియ దేశముమీద హజాయేలునకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేయుము;

15. And the Lord sayde vnto him: Go, and turne thy way to the wildernesse vnto Damasco: & when thou commest there, annoynt Hazael king ouer Syria:

16. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీద నింషీకుమారుడైన యెహూకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేయుము; నీకు మారుగా ప్రవక్తయైయుండుటకు ఆబేల్మె హోలావాడైన షాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషాకు అభిషేకము చేయుము.

16. And Iehu sonne of Nimsi shalt thou annoynt king ouer Israel: And Elisa the sonne of Saphat of Abel Meholah shalt thou annoynt to be prophete in thy roome.

17. హజాయేలుయొక్క ఖడ్గమును తప్పించుకొనువారిని యెహూ హతముచేయును; యెహూ యొక్క ఖడ్గమును తప్పించుకొనువారిని ఎలీషా హతము చేయును.

17. And it shall come to passe, that whoso escapeth the sworde of Hazael, him shall Iehu slay: & if any man scape the sword of Iehu, him shall Elisa put to death.

18. అయినను ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిలో బయలునకు మోకాళ్లూనకయు, నోటితో వాని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనకయునుండు ఏడు వేలమంది నాకు ఇంకను మిగిలియుందురు.

18. And [thereto] I haue left me seuen thousande in Israel, of whiche neuer man bowed his knees vnto Baal, nor kissed him with his mouth.

19. ఏలీయా అచ్చటనుండి పోయిన తరువాత అతనికి షాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషా కనబడెను. అతడు తన ముందరనున్న పండ్రెండు అరకల యెడ్లచేత దుక్కి దున్నించుచు పండ్రెండవ అరక తాను తోలుచుండెను. ఏలీయా అతని చేర బోయి తన దుప్పటి అతనిమీద వేయగా

19. So he departed thence, & found Elisa the sonne of Saphat plowing, & hauing twelue yocke of oxen before him, and he with the twelue: And Elias went by him, and cast his mantle vpon him.

20. అతడు ఎడ్లను విడిచి ఏలీయావెంట పరుగెత్తినేను పోయి నా తలిదండ్రులను ముద్దుపెట్టుకొని తిరిగి వచ్చి నిన్ను వెంబ డించెదనని చెప్పి అతనిని సెలవడుగగా అతడుపోయి రమ్ము, నావలన నీకు నిర్బంధము లేదని చెప్పెను.

20. And he left the oxen, and ranne after Elias, and sayde: Let me I pray thee kysse my father and my mother, & then I will folowe thee. He sayde vnto him: Go backe againe, for what is it that I haue done to thee?

21. అందు కతడు అతనిని విడిచి వెళ్లి కాడి యెడ్లను తీసి, వధించి వాటిమాంసమును గొర్తినొగల చేత వంటచేసి జనులకు వడ్డిం చెను. వారు భోజనము చేసిన తరువాత అతడు లేచి ఏలీయా వెంబడి వెళ్లి అతనికి ఉపచారము చేయుచుండెను.

21. And when he went backe againe from him, he toke a couple of oxen, and slue them, and dressed the fleshe with the instrumentes of the oxen, and gaue vnto the people, and they dyd eate: And then he arose and went after Elias, and ministred vnto him.
