1. దేవుడు మోషేకును తన ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును చేసినదంతయు, యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఐగుప్తునుండి వెలుపలికి రప్పించిన సంగతియు, మిద్యాను యాజకుడును మోషే మామయునైన యిత్రో వినినప్పుడు

1. Now Yitro, the Kohen of Midyan, Moshe#s father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moshe, and for Yisra'el his people, how that the LORD had brought Yisra'el out of Mitzrayim.

2. మోషే మామయైన ఆ యిత్రో తనయొద్దకు పంపబడిన మోషే భార్యయైన సిప్పోరాను ఆమె యిద్దరి కుమారులను తోడుకొని వచ్చెను.

2. Yitro, Moshe#s father-in-law, received Tzipporah, Moshe#s wife, after he had sent her away,

3. అతడు అన్యదేశములో నేను పరదేశిననుకొని వారిలో ఒకనికి గేర్షోము అని పేరుపెట్టెను.

3. and her two sons. The name of one son was Gershom, for Moshe said, 'I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land'.

4. The name of the other was Eli`ezer, for he said, 'My father's God was my help and delivered me from Par`oh's sword.'

5. మోషే మామయైన యిత్రో అతని కుమారులనిద్దరిని అతని భార్యను తోడుకొని అరణ్యములో దేవుని పర్వతము దగ్గర దిగిన మోషేయొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

5. Yitro, Moshe#s father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moshe into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of God.

6. యిత్రో అను నీ మామనైన నేనును నీ భార్యయు ఆమెతో కూడ ఆమె యిద్దరు కుమారులును నీయొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నామని మోషేకు వర్తమానము పంపగా

6. He said to Moshe, I, your father-in-law Yitro, have come to you with your wife, and her two sons with her.

7. మోషే తన మామను ఎదుర్కొన పోయి వందనము చేసి అతని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనెను. వారు ఒకరి క్షేమము ఒకరు తెలిసికొని గుడారములోనికి వచ్చిరి.

7. Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed and kissed him. They asked each other of their welfare, and they came into the tent.

8. తరువాత మోషే యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కొరకు ఫరోకును ఐగుప్తీయులకును చేసిన దంతయు, త్రోవలో తమకు వచ్చిన కష్టము యావత్తును, యెహోవా తమ్మును విడిపించిన సంగతియు తన మామతో వివరించి చెప్పెను.

8. Moshe told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Par`oh and to the Mitzrim for Yisra'el's sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

9. యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలొ నుండి విడిపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చేసిన మేలంతటిని గూర్చి యిత్రో సంతోషించెను.

9. Yitro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Yisra'el, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Mitzrim.

10. మరియు యిత్రో ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండియు ఫరో చేతిలో నుండియు మిమ్మును విడిపించి, ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిక్రిందనుండి ఈ ప్రజలను విడిపించిన యెహోవా స్తుతింపబడునుగాక.

10. Yitro said, 'Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Mitzrim, and out of the hand of Par`oh; who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Mitzrim.

11. ఐగుప్తీయులు గర్వించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద చేసిన దౌర్జన్యమునుబట్టి ఆయన చేసినదాని చూచి, యెహోవా సమస్త దేవతలకంటె గొప్పవాడని యిప్పుడు నాకు తెలిసినదనెను.

11. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods because of the thing in which they dealt arrogantly against them.'

12. మరియు మోషే మామయైన యిత్రో ఒక దహనబలిని బలులను దేవునికర్పింపగా అహరోనును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలందరును మోషే మామతో దేవుని సన్నిధిని భోజనము చేయవచ్చిరి.

12. Yitro, Moshe#s father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God. Aharon came with all of the Zakenim of Yisra'el, to eat bread with Moshe#s father-in-law before God.

13. మరునాడు మోషే ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చుటకు కూర్చుండగా, ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలము వరకు ప్రజలు మోషే యొద్ద నిలిచియుండిరి.

13. It happened on the next day, that Moshe sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moshe from the morning to the evening.

14. మోషే ప్రజలకు చేసినదంతయు అతని మామ చూచి - నీవు ఈ ప్రజలకు చేయుచున్న యీ పని ఏమిటి? ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలమువరకు నీవు మాత్రము కూర్చుండగా ప్రజలందరు నీయొద్ద నిలిచి యుండనేల అని అడుగగా

14. When Moshe#s father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, 'What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning to evening?'

15. మోషే దేవుని తీర్పు తెలిసి కొనుటకు ప్రజలు నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు.

15. Moshe said to his father-in-law, 'Because the people come to me to inquire of God.

16. వారికి వ్యాజ్యెము ఏదైనను కలిగినయెడల నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు. నేను వారి విషయము న్యాయము తీర్చి, దేవుని కట్టడలను ఆయన ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను వారికి తెలుపుచున్నానని తన మామతో చెప్పెను.

16. When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.'

17. అందుకు మోషే మామ అతనితో నీవు చేయుచున్న పని మంచిది కాదు;

17. Moshe#s father-in-law said to him, 'The thing that you do is not good.

18. నీవును నీతో నున్న యీ ప్రజలును నిశ్చయముగా నలిగిపోవుదురు; ఈ పని నీకు మిక్కిలి భారము, అది నీవు ఒక్కడవే చేయచాలవు.

18. You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you; for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.

19. కాబట్టి నా మాట వినుము. నేను నీకొక ఆలోచన చెప్పెదను. దేవుడు నీకు తోడైయుండును, ప్రజల పక్షమున నీవు దేవుని సముఖమందు ఉండి వారి వ్యాజ్యెములను దేవుని యొద్దకు తేవలెను.

19. Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.

20. నీవు వారికి ఆయన కట్టడలను ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను బోధించి, వారు నడవవలసిన త్రోవను వారు చేయవలసిన కార్యములను వారికి తెలుపవలెను.

20. You shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.

21. మరియు నీవు ప్రజలందరిలో సామర్థ్యము దైవభక్తి సత్యాసక్తి కలిగి, లంచగొండులుకాని మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచుకొని, వేయిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, నూరుమందికి ఒకనిగాను, ఏబదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, పది మందికి ఒకనిగాను, వారిమీద న్యాయాధిపతులను నియమింపవలెను.

21. Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

22. వారు ఎల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చవలెను. అయితే గొప్ప వ్యాజ్యెములన్నిటిని నీయొద్దకు తేవలెను. ప్రతి అల్పవిషయమును వారే తీర్చవచ్చును. అట్లు వారు నీతో కూడ ఈ భారమును మోసిన యెడల నీకు సుళువుగా ఉండును.

22. Let them judge the people at all times. It shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.

23. దేవుడు ఈలాగు చేయుటకు నీకు సెలవిచ్చినయెడల నీవు ఈ పని చేయుచు దాని భారమును సహింపగలవు. మరియు ఈ ప్రజలందరు తమ తమ చోట్లకు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లుదురని చెప్పెను.

23. If you will do this thing, and God commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all of these people also will go to their place in shalom.'

24. మోషే తన మామ మాట విని అతడు చెప్పినదంతయు చేసెను.

24. So Moshe listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said.

25. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిలో సామర్థ్యముగల మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచుకొని, వెయ్యిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, నూరు మందికి ఒకనిగాను, ఏబదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, పదిమందికి ఒకనిగాను, న్యాయాధిపతులను ఏర్పాటు చేసి వారిని ప్రజలమీద ప్రధానులనుగా నియమించెను.

25. Moshe chose able men out of all Yisra'el, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

26. వారెల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చువారు. వారు కఠిన వ్యాజ్యెములను మోషే యొద్దకు తెచ్చుచు, స్వల్ప వ్యాజ్యెములను తామే తీర్చుచువచ్చిరి.

26. They judged the people at all times. They brought the hard causes to Moshe, but every small matter they judged themselves.

27. తరువాత మోషే తన మామను పంపివేయగా అతడు తన స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లెను.

27. Moshe let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land.
