1. నీవు నీ శత్రువులతో యుద్ధమునకు పోయి గుఱ్ఱ ములను రథములను మీకంటె విస్తారమైన జనమును చూచు నప్పుడు వారికి భయపడవద్దు; ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనుండి నిన్ను రప్పించిన నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు తోడై యుండును.

1. When thou shalt go forth to warre against thine enemies, and shalt see horses and charets, and people moe then thou, be not afrayde of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt.

2. అంతేకాదు, మీరు యుద్ధమునకు సమీ పించునప్పుడు యాజకుడు దగ్గరకు వచ్చి ప్రజలతో ఈలాగు చెప్పవలెను

2. And when ye are come neere vnto the battel, then the Priest shall come forth to speake vnto the people,

3. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, వినుడి; నేడు మీరు మీశత్రువులతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు సమీ పించుచున్నారు. మీ హృదయములు జంకనియ్యకుడి, భయపడకుడి,

3. And shall say vnto them, Heare, O Israel: ye are come this day vnto battell against your enemies: let not your heartes faynt, neither feare, nor be amased, nor adread of them.

4. వణకకుడి, వారి ముఖము చూచి బెదరకుడి, మీకొరకు మీ శత్రువులతో యుద్ధము చేసి మిమ్మును రక్షించువాడు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయే.

4. For ye Lord your God goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, and to saue you

5. మరియు నాయకులు జనులతో చెప్పవలసినదేమనగా, క్రొత్తయిల్లు కట్టు కొనినవాడు గృహప్రవేశము కాకమునుపే యుద్ధ ములో చనిపోయినయెడల వేరొకడు దానిలో ప్రవేశించును గనుక అట్టివాడు తన యింటికి తిరిగి వెళ్లవచ్చును.

5. And let the officers speake vnto the people, saying, What man is there that hath buylt a new house, and hath not dedicate it? let him go and returne to his house, least he dye in the battel, and an other man dedicate it.

6. ద్రాక్షతోటవేసి యింక దాని పండ్లు తినక ఒకడు యుద్ధ ములో చనిపోయినయెడల వేరొకడు దాని పండ్లు తినును గనుక అట్టివాడును తన యింటికి తిరిగి వెళ్లవచ్చును.

6. And what man is there that hath planted a vineyarde, and hath not eaten of the fruite? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, least he die in the battel, and another eate the fruite.

7. ఒకడు స్త్రీని ప్రధానము చెసికొని ఆమెను ఇంకను పరిగ్రహింపకమునుపే యుధ్ధములో చనిపోయినయెడల వేరొకడు ఆమెను పరిగ్రహించును గనుక అట్టివాడును తన యింటికి తిరిగి వెళ్లవచ్చును.

7. And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, lest he die in the battell, and another man take her.

8. నాయకులు జనులతో యెవడు భయపడి మెత్తని గుండెగల వాడగునో వాడు తాను అధైర్యపడిన రీతిగా తన సహోదరుల గుండెలు అధైర్యపరచకుండునట్లు తన యింటికి తిరిగి వెళ్లవచ్చునని చెప్పవలెను.

8. And let the officers speake further vnto the people, and say, Whosoeuer is afrayde and faynt hearted, let him go and returne vnto his house, least his brethrens heart faynt like his heart.

9. నాయకులు జనులతో మాటలాడుట చాలిం చిన తరువాత జనులను నడిపించుటకు సేనాధిపతులను నియమింపవలెను.

9. And after that the officers haue made an ende of speaking vnto the people, they shall make captaines of the armie to gouerne the people.

10. యుధ్దము చేయుటకు మీరొక పురముమీదికి సమీ పించునప్పుడు సమాధానము నిమిత్తము రాయబారమును పంపవలెను. సమాధానమని అది నీకు ఉత్తర మిచ్చి

10. When thou commest neere vnto a citie to fight against it, thou shalt offer it peace.

11. గుమ్మ ములను తెరచినయెడల దానిలో నున్న జనులందరు నీకు పన్ను చెల్లించి నీ దాసులగుదురు.

11. And if it answere thee againe peaceably, and open vnto thee, then let all the people that is founde therein, be tributaries vnto thee, and serue thee.

12. అది మీతో సమా ధానపడక యుద్ధమే మంచిదని యెంచినయెడల దాని ముట్టడివేయుడి.

12. But if it will make no peace with thee, but make war against thee, then shalt thou besiege it.

13. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా దాని నీ చేతి కప్పగించునప్పుడు దానిలోని మగవారినందరిని కత్తివాత హతము చేయవలెను.

13. And the Lord thy God shall deliuer it into thine handes, and thou shalt smite all the males thereof with the edge of the sworde.

14. అయితే స్త్రీలను చిన్నవారిని పశు వులను ఆ పురములో నున్నది యావత్తును దాని కొల్ల సొమ్మంతటిని నీవు తీసికొనవచ్చును; నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకిచ్చిన నీ శత్రువుల కొల్లసొమ్మును నీవు అనుభవించుదువు.

14. Onely the women, and the children, and the cattel, and all that is in the citie, euen all the spoyle thereof shalt thou take vnto thy selfe, and shalt eate the spoyle of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath giuen thee.

15. ఈ జనముల పురములు గాక నీకు బహు దూర ముగా ఉండిన సమస్త పురములకు మాత్రమే యీలాగున చేయవలెను.

15. Thus shalt thou do vnto all ye cities, which are a great way off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations here.

16. అయితే నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా స్వాస్థ్య ముగా నీకిచ్చుచున్న యీ జనముల పురములలో ఊపిరిగల దేనిని బ్రదుకనియ్యకూడదు.

16. But of the cities of this people, which the Lord thy God shall giue thee to inherite, thou shalt saue no person aliue,

17. వీరు, అనగా హీత్తీ యులు అమోరీయులు కనానీయులు పెరిజ్జీయులు హివీ్వ యులు యెబూసీయులనువారు తమ తమ దేవతల విష యమై చేసిన సమస్త హేయకృత్యములరీతిగా మీరు చేసి,

17. But shalt vtterly destroy them: to wit, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee,

18. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా పాపము చేయు టకు వారు మీకు నేర్పకుండునట్లు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీ కాజ్ఞాపించిన ప్రకారముగా వారిని నిర్మూలము చేయ వలెను.

18. That they teache you not to doe after all their abominations, which they haue done vnto their gods, and so ye should sinne against the Lord your God.

19. నీవు ఒక పురమును లోపరచుకొనుటకు దానిమీద యుద్ధము చేయుచు అనేక దినములు ముట్టడివేయు నప్పుడు, దాని చెట్లు గొడ్డలిచేత పాడుచేయకూడదు; వాటి పండ్లు తినవచ్చునుగాని వాటిని నరికివేయకూడదు; నీవు వాటిని ముట్టడించుటకు పొలములోని చెట్లు నరులా? అట్టి చెట్లను నీవు కొట్టకూడదు.

19. When thou hast besieged a citie long time, and made warre against it to take it, destroy not the trees therof, by smiting an axe into them: for thou mayest eate of them: therfore thou shalt not cut them downe to further thee in the siege, (for the tree of the field is mans life)

20. ఏ చెట్లు తినదగిన ఫలములనిచ్చునవికావని నీవెరుగుదువో వాటిని పాడుచేసి నరికి, నీతో యుద్ధముచేయు పురము పడువరకు వాటితో దానికి ఎదురుగా ముట్టడిదిబ్బ కట్ట వచ్చును.

20. Onely those trees, which thou knowest are not for meate, those shalt thou destroy and cut downe, and make fortes against the citie that maketh warre with thee, vntil thou subdue it.
