1. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు తనకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొని ప్రయాణమై బెయేర్షెబాకు వచ్చి తన తండ్రియైన ఇస్సాకు దేవునికి బలులనర్పించెను.

1. And Israel yede forth with alle thingis that he hadde, and he cam to the pit of ooth; and whanne sacrifices weren slayn there to God of his fadir Isaac,

2. అప్పుడు రాత్రి దర్శనములయందు దేవుడు - యాకోబూ యాకోబూ అని ఇశ్రాయేలును పిలిచెను. అందుకతడు - చిత్తము ప్రభువా అనెను.

8. యాకోబును అతని కుమారులును ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలు కుమారుల పేళ్లు ఇవే;

9. యాకోబు జ్యేష్ఠ కుమారుడు రూబేను. రూబేను కుమారులైన హనోకు పల్లు హెస్రోను కర్మీ.

9. the sones of Ruben, Enoch, and Fallu, and Esrom, and Carmi.

10. షిమ్యోను కుమారులైన యెమూయేలు యామీను ఓహదు యాకీను సోహరు కనానీయురాలి కుమారుడైన షావూలు.

10. The sones of Symeon, Jemuhel, and Jamyn, and Ahoth, and Jachyn, and Sab, and Saber, and Saul, the sone of a womman of Canaan.

11. లేవి కుమారులైన గెర్షోను కహాతు మెరారి

11. The sones of Leuy, Gerson, Caath, and Merarie.

12. యూదా కుమారులైన ఏరు ఓనాను షేలా పెరెసు జెరహు. ఆ ఏరును ఓనానును కనాను దేశములో చనిపోయిరి. పెరెసు కుమారులైన హెస్రోను హామూలు.

13. ఇశ్శాఖారు కుమారులైన తోలా పువ్వా యోబు షిమ్రోను.

14. జెబూలూను కుమారులైన సెరెదు ఏలోను యహలేలు.

19. యాకోబు భార్యయైన రాహేలు కుమారులైన యోసేపు బెన్యామీను.

20. యోసేపునకు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిములు పుట్టిరి. వారిని ఐగుప్తు దేశమందు ఓనుకు యాజకుడగు పోతీఫెర కుమార్తెయైన ఆసెనతు అతనికి కనెను.

29. యోసేపు తన రథమును సిద్ధము చేయించి తన తండ్రియైన ఇశ్రాయేలును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు గోషెనుకు వెళ్లి అతనికి కనబడెను. అప్పుడతడు అతని మెడమీద పడి అతని మెడ పట్టుకొని యెంతో ఏడ్చెను.

31. And Joseph spak to hise brithren, and to al `the hows of his fadir, I schal stie, and `Y schal telle to Farao, and Y schal seie to hym, My britheren, and the hows of my fadir, that weren in the lond of Canaan, ben comun to me,

32. ఆ మనుష్యులు పశువులు గలవారు, వారు గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరులు. వారు తమ గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను తమకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొనివచ్చిరని అతనితో చెప్పెదను.

32. and thei ben men kepers of scheep, and han bisynesse of flockis to be fed; thei brouyten with hem her scheep and grete beestis, and alle thingis whiche thei miyten haue.

33. గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరియైన ప్రతివాడు ఐగుప్తీయులకు హేయుడు గనుక ఫరో మిమ్మును పిలిపించి మీ వృత్తి యేమిటని అడిగినయెడల

33. And whanne Farao schal clepe you, and schal seie, What is youre werk? ye schulen answere, We ben thi seruauntis, men scheepherdis, fro oure childhed til in to present tyme, bothe we and oure fadris. Sotheli ye schulen seye these thingis, that ye moun dwelle in the lond of Gessen, for Egipcians wlaten alle keperis of scheep.
