1. సౌలు కుటుంబికులకును దావీదు కుటుంబికులకును బహుకాలము యుద్ధము జరుగగా దావీదు అంత కంతకు ప్రబలెను; సౌలు కుటుంబము అంతకంతకు నీరసిల్లెను.

1. There was a long war between the people who supported Saul's fam- ily and those who supported David's family. The supporters of David's family became stronger and stronger, but the supporters of Saul's family became weaker and weaker.

2. హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునకు పుట్టిన కుమారులెవరనగా, అమ్నోను అను అతని జ్యేష్ఠపుత్రుడు యెజ్రెయేలీయు రాలగు అహీనోయమువలన పుట్టెను.

2. Sons were born to David at Hebron. The first was Amnon, whose mother was Ahinoam from Jezreel.

3. కిల్యాబు అను రెండవవాడు కర్మెలీయుడగు నాబాలు భార్యయైన అబీగ యీలు వలన పుట్టెను. మూడవవాడైన అబ్షాలోము గెషూరు రాజగు తల్మయి కుమార్తెయగు మయకావలన పుట్టెను.

3. The second son was Kileab, whose mother was Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel. The third son was Absalom, whose mother was Maacah daughter of Talmai, the king of Geshur.

4. నాలుగవవాడగు అదోనీయా హగ్గీతువలన పుట్టెను. అయిదవవాడగు షెఫట్య అబీటలువలన పుట్టెను.

4. The fourth son was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith. The fifth son was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital.

5. ఆరవవాడగు ఇత్రెయాము దావీదునకు భార్యయగు ఎగ్లావలన పుట్టెను. వీరు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునకు పుట్టిన కుమారులు.

5. The sixth son was Ithream, whose mother was Eglah, David's wife. These sons were born to David at Hebron.

6. సౌలు కుటుంబికులకును దావీదు కుటుంబికులకును యుద్ధము జరుగుచుండగా అబ్నేరు సౌలు కుటుంబికులకు బహు సహాయముచేసెను.

6. During the war between the supporters of Saul's family and the supporters of David's family, Abner made himself a main leader among the supporters of Saul.

7. అయ్యా కుమార్తెయైన రిస్పా యను ఒక ఉపపత్ని సౌలుకుండెనునా తండ్రికి ఉప పత్నియగు దానిని నీ వెందుకు కూడితివని ఇష్బోషెతు అబ్నేరును అడుగగా

7. Saul once had a slave woman named Rizpah, who was the daughter of Aiah. Ish-Bosheth said to Abner, 'Why did you have sexual relations with my father's slave woman?'

8. అబ్నేరును ఇష్బోషెతు అడిగిన మాటకు బహుగా కోపగించుకొనినిన్ను దావీదు చేతి కప్పగింపక నీ తండ్రియైన సౌలు ఇంటి వారికిని అతని సహోదరులకును అతని స్నేహితులకును ఈవేళ ఉపకారము చేసిన నన్ను యూదావారికి చేరిన కుక్కతో సమానునిగాచేసి యీ దినమున ఒక స్త్రీనిబట్టి నామీద నేరము మోపుదువా?

8. Abner was very angry because of what Ish-Bosheth said, and he replied, 'I have been loyal to Saul and his family and friends! I didn't hand you over to David. I am not a traitor working for Judah! But now you are saying I did something wrong with this woman!

9. యెహోవా దావీదునకు ప్రమాణము చేసిన దానిని అతనిపక్షమున నేను నెరవేర్చనియెడల

9. May God help me if I don't join David! I will make sure that what the Lord promised does happen!

10. దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయును గాక; సౌలు ఇంటివారి వశము కాకుండ రాజ్యమును తప్పించి దాను మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షబావరకు దావీదు సింహాసనమును ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీదను యూదా వారి మీదను నేను స్థిరపరచెదననెను.

10. I will take the kingdom from the family of Saul and make David king of Israel and Judah, from Dan to Beersheba!'

11. కావున ఇష్బోషెతు అబ్నేరునకు భయపడి యిక ఏ మాటయు పలుకలేక పోయెను.

11. Ish-Bosheth couldn't say anything to Abner, because he was afraid of him.

12. అబ్నేరు తన తరపున దావీదునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిఈ దేశము ఎవరిది? నీవు నాతో నిబంధనచేసినయెడల నేను నీకు సహాయము చేసి, ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరిని నీ తట్టు త్రిప్పెదనని వర్తమానము పంపగా దావీదుమంచిది; నేను నీతో నిబంధన చేసెదను.

12. Then Abner sent messengers to ask David, 'Who is going to rule the land? Make an agreement with me, and I will help you unite all Israel.'

13. అయితే నీవుఒకపని చేయవలెను; దర్శనమునకు వచ్చునప్పుడు సౌలు కుమార్తెయగు మీకాలును నా యొద్దకు తోడుకొని రావలెను; లేదా నీకు దర్శనము దొరకదనెను.

13. David answered, 'Good! I will make an agreement with you, but I ask you one thing. I will not meet with you unless you bring Saul's daughter Michal to me.'

14. మరియు దావీదు సౌలు కుమారుడగు ఇష్బోషెతునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిఫిలిష్తీయులలో నూరుమంది ముందోళ్లను తెచ్చి నేను పెండ్లి చేసికొనిన మీకాలును నాకప్పగింపుమని చెప్పుడనగా

14. Then David sent messengers to Saul's son Ish-Bosheth, saying, 'Give me my wife Michal. She was promised to me, and I killed a hundred Philistines to get her.'

15. ఇష్బోషెతు దూతను పంపి, లాయీషు కుమారుడగు పల్తీయేలు అను దాని పెనిమిటియొద్దనుండి మీకాలును పిలువనంపెను.

15. So Ish-Bosheth sent men to take Michal from her husband Paltiel son of Laish.

16. దాని పెనిమిటి బహూరీమువరకు దాని వెనుక ఏడ్చుచు రాగా అబ్నేరునీవు తిరిగి పొమ్మనెను గనుక అతడు వెళ్లిపోయెను.

16. Michal's husband went with her, crying as he followed her to Bahurim. But Abner said to Paltiel, 'Go back home.' So he went home.

17. అంతలో అబ్నేరు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారి పెద్దలను పిలిపించిదావీదు మిమ్మును ఏలవలెనని మీరు ఇంతకు మునుపు కోరితిరి గదా

17. Abner sent this message to the older leaders of Israel: 'You have been wanting to make David your king.

18. నా సేవకుడైన దావీదుచేత నా జనులగు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలో నుండియు, వారి శత్రువులందరి చేతిలోనుండియు విమోచించెదనని యెహోవా దావీదునుగూర్చి సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు గనుక మీ కోరిక నెరవేర్చుకొనుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

18. Now do it! The Lord said of David, 'Through my servant David, I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and all their enemies.''

19. మరియు అబ్నేరు బెన్యామీనీయులతో ఆలాగున మాటలాడిన తరువాత హెబ్రోనునకు వచ్చి ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దృష్టికిని బెన్యామీనీయులందరి దృష్టికిని ప్రయోజనమైన దానిని దావీదునకు పూర్తిగా తెలియచేసెను.

19. Abner also said these things to the people of Benjamin. He then went to Hebron to tell David what the Benjaminites and Israel wanted to do.

20. అందు నిమిత్తమై అబ్నేరు ఇరువదిమందిని వెంటబెట్టుకొని హెబ్రోనులోనున్న దావీదునొద్దకు రాగా దావీదు అబ్నేరుకును అతనివారికిని విందు చేయించెను.

20. Abner came with twenty men to David at Hebron. There David prepared a feast for them.

21. అంతట అబ్నేరునేను పోయి ఇశ్రాయేలువారినందరిని నా యేలినవాడవగు నీ పక్షమున సమకూర్చి, వారు నీతో నిబంధనచేయునట్లును, నీ చిత్తానుసారముగా నీవు రాజరికము వహించి కోరినదాని అంతటిమీద ఏలునట్లును చేయుదునని దావీదుతో చెప్పి దావీదునొద్ద సెలవుపుచ్చుకొని సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయెను.

21. Abner said to David, 'My master and king, I will go and bring all the Israelites to you. Then they will make an agreement with you so you will rule over all Israel as you wanted.' So David let Abner go, and he left in peace.

22. పిమ్మట దావీదు సేవకులును యోవాబును బందిపోటునుండి బహు విస్తారమైన దోపుడు సొమ్ము తీసికొనిరాగా అబ్నేరు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునొద్ద లేకపోయెను, దావీదు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చియున్నందున అతడు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయి యుండెను.

22. Just then Joab and David's men came from a battle, bringing many valuable things they had taken from the enemy. David had let Abner leave in peace, so he was not with David at Hebron.

23. అయితే యోవాబును అతనియొద్దనున్న సైన్యమును వచ్చినప్పుడు నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెననియు, రాజు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చి పంపెననియు, అతడు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయెననియు తెలిసికొని

23. When Joab and all his army arrived at Hebron, the army said to Joab, 'Abner son of Ner came to King David, and David let him leave in peace.'

24. యోవాబు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము, నీవు ఏమిచేసితివి? అబ్నేరు నీయొద్దకు వచ్చి నప్పుడు నీవెందుకు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చి పంపి వేసితివి?

24. Joab came to the king and said, 'What have you done? Abner came to you. Why did you let him go? Now he's gone.

25. నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరును నీవెరుగవా? నిన్ను మోసపుచ్చి నీ రాకపోకలన్నిటిని నీవు చేయు సమస్తమును తెలిసికొనుటకై అతడు వచ్చెనని చెప్పి

25. You know Abner son of Ner! He came to trick you! He came to learn about everything you are doing!'

26. దావీదునొద్దనుండి బయలువెడలి అబ్నేరును పిలుచుటకై దూతలను పంపెను. వారు పోయి సిరా యను బావిదగ్గరనుండి అతనిని తోడుకొని వచ్చిరి; అతడు వచ్చిన సంగతి దావీదునకు తెలియకయుండెను.

26. After Joab left David, he sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah. But David did not know this.

27. అబ్నేరు తిరిగి హెబ్రోనునకు వచ్చినప్పుడుసంగతి యెవరికి వినబడకుండ గుమ్మము నడుమ ఏకాంతముగా అతనితో మాటలాడవలెనని యోవాబు అతని పిలిచి, తన సహోదరుడగు అశాహేలు ప్రాణము తీసినందుకై అతనిని కడుపులో పొడువగా అతడు చచ్చెను.

27. When Abner arrived at Hebron, Joab took him aside into the gateway. He acted as though he wanted to talk with Abner in private, but Joab stabbed him in the stomach, and Abner died. Abner had killed Joab's brother Asahel, so Joab killed Abner to pay him back.

28. ఆ తరువాత ఈ సమాచారము దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు అనుకొనిన దేమనగానేనును నా రాజ్యమును నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరు ప్రాణము తీయుట విషయములో యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఎప్పటికిని నిరపరాధులమే.

28. Later when David heard the news, he said, 'My kingdom and I are innocent forever of the death of Abner son of Ner. The Lord knows this.

29. ఈ దోషము యోవాబుమీదను అతని తండ్రికి పుట్టిన వారందరిమీదను మోపబడునుగాక. యోవాబు ఇంటివారిలో స్రావముగలవాడైనను కుష్ఠరోగి యైనను కఱ్ఱపట్టుకొని నడుచువాడైనను ఖడ్గముచేత కూలు వాడైనను ఆహారము లేనివాడైనను ఉండకపోడుగాక అనెను.

29. Joab and his family are responsible for this. May his family always have someone with sores or with a skin disease. May they always have someone who must lean on a crutch. May some of his family be killed in war. May they always have someone without food to eat.'

30. ఆలాగున యోవాబును అతని సహోదరుడైన అబీషైయును, అబ్నేరు గిబియోను యుద్ధమందు తమ సహోదరుడైన అశాహేలును చంపిన దానినిబట్టి అతని చంపిరి.

30. (Joab and his brother Abishai killed Abner, because he had killed their brother Asahel in the battle at Gibeon.)

31. దావీదుమీ బట్టలు చింపుకొని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని అబ్నేరు శవమునకు ముందు నడుచుచు ప్రలాపము చేయుడని యోవాబునకును అతనితో నున్న వారికందరికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

31. Then David said to Joab and to all the people with Joab, 'Tear your clothes and put on rough cloth to show how sad you are. Cry for Abner.' King David himself followed the body of Abner.

32. రాజును స్వయముగా పాడెవెంట నడిచెను. వారు అబ్నేరును హెబ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టగా రాజు అబ్నేరు సమాధిదగ్గర ఎలుగెత్తి యేడ్చెను, జనులంద రును ఏడ్చిరి.

32. They buried Abner in Hebron, and David and all the people cried at Abner's grave.

33. మరియు రాజు అబ్నేరునుగూర్చి శోకకీర్తన యొకటి కట్టెను.

33. King David sang this funeral song for Abner. 'Did Abner die like a fool?

34. ఎట్లనగా అబ్నేరూ నీచుడొకడు చచ్చునట్లుగా నీవు చావతగునా?నీ చేతులకు కట్లు లేకుండగనునీ కాళ్లకు సంకెళ్లు వేయబడకుండగనుదోషకారి యెదుట ఒకడు పడునట్లు నీవు పడితివే రాజు ఈలాగున కీర్తన యెత్తి పాడగా జనులందరు విని మరియెక్కువగా ఏడ్చిరి.

34. His hands were not tied. His feet were not in chains. He fell at the hands of evil men.' Then all the people cried again for Abner.

35. ఇంక వెలుగున్నప్పుడు జనులు దావీదునొద్దకు వచ్చి భోజనము చేయుమని అతనిని బతి మాలగా దావీదు ప్రమాణముచేసిసూర్యుడు అస్తమించక మునుపు ఆహారమేమైనను నేను రుచిచూచినయెడల దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయునుగాకనెను.

35. They came to encourage David to eat while it was still day. But he made a promise, saying, 'May God punish me terribly if I eat bread or anything else before the sun sets!'

36. జనులందరు ఆ సంగతి గ్రహించినప్పుడు సంతో షించిరి; రాజు చేయునదంతయు జనులందరి దృష్టికి అను కూలమైనట్లు అదియు వారి దృష్టికి అనుకూలమాయెను.

36. All the people saw what happened, and they agreed with what the king was doing, just as they agreed with everything he did.

37. నేరు కుమారుడైన అబ్నేరును చంపుట రాజు ప్రేరేపణ వలన నైనది కాదని ఆ దినమున జనులందరికిని ఇశ్రాయేలు వారికందరికిని తెలియబడెను.

37. That day all the people of Judah and Israel understood that David did not order the killing of Abner son of Ner.

38. పిమ్మట రాజు తన సేవకు లను పిలిచి వారితో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునేటిదినమున పడిపోయినవాడు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో ప్రధానుడనియుపెద్దలలో ఒకడనియు మీకు తెలిసేయున్నది.

38. David said to his officers, 'You know that a great man died today in Israel.

39. పట్టాభిషేకము నొందినవాడనైనను, నేడు నేను బలహీనుడనైతిని. సెరూయా కుమారులైన యీ మనుష్యులు నా కంటె బలముగలవారు, అతడు జరిగించిన దుష్క్రియనుబట్టి యెహోవా కీడుచేసినవానికి ప్రతికీడు చేయునుగాక.

39. Even though I am the appointed king, I feel empty. These sons of Zeruiah are too much for me. May the Lord give them the punishment they should have.'
