1. కరవుకాలమున జరిగినదానిగూర్చి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

1. Who will give water to my head, and a fountain of tears to my eyes? and I will weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people.

2. యూదా దుఃఖించు చున్నది, దాని గుమ్మములు అంగలార్చుచున్నవి, జనులు విచారగ్రస్తులై నేలకు వంగుదురు, యెరూషలేము చేయు అంగలార్పు పైకెక్కుచున్నది.

2. Who will give me in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, and I will leave my people, and depart from them? because they are all adulterers, an assembly of transgressors.

3. వారిలో ప్రధానులు బీద వారిని నీళ్లకు పంపుచున్నారు, వారు చెరువులయొద్దకు రాగా నీళ్లు దొరుకుటలేదు, వట్టి కుండలు తీసికొని వారు మరల వచ్చుచున్నారు, సిగ్గును అవమానము నొందినవారై తమ తలలు కప్పుకొనుచున్నారు.

3. And they have bent their tongue, as a bow, for lies, and not for truth: they have strengthened themselves upon the earth, for they have proceeded from evil to evil, and me they have not known, saith the Lord.

4. దేశములో వర్షము కురువక పోయినందున నేల చీలియున్నది గనుక సేద్యము చేయువారు సిగ్గుపడి తలలు కప్పుకొనుచున్నారు.

4. Let every man take heed of his neighbor, and let his not trust in any brother of his: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every friend will walk deceitfully.

5. లేళ్లు పొలములో ఈని గడ్డిలేనందున పిల్లలను విడిచిపెట్టు చున్నవి.

5. And a man shall mock his brother, and they will not speak the truth: for they have taught their tongue to speak lies: they have laboured to commit iniquity.

6. అడవి గాడిదలును చెట్లులేని మెట్టలమీద నిలువబడి నక్కలవలె గాలి పీల్చుచున్నవి, మేత ఏమియు లేనందున వాటి కన్నులు క్షీణించు చున్నవి.

6. Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit: Through deceit they have refused to know me, saith the Lord.

7. యెహోవా, మా తిరుగుబాటులు అనేకములు,నీకు విరోధముగా మేము పాపముచేసితివిు; మా దోషములు మా మీద దోషారోపణ చేయుచున్నవి; నీ నామమును బట్టి నీవే కార్యము జరిగించుము.

7. Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold I will melt, and try them: for what else shall I do before the daughter of my people?

8. ఇశ్రాయేలునకు ఆశ్రయుడా, కష్టకాలమున వారికి రక్షకుడా, మా దేశములో నీ వేల పరదేశివలెనున్నావు? ఏల రాత్రివేళను బసచేయుటకు గుడారమువేయు ప్రయాణస్థునివలె ఉన్నావు;

8. Their tongue is a piercing arrow, it hath spoken deceit: with his mouth one speaketh peace with his friend, and secretly he lieth in wait for him.

9. భ్రమసియున్నవానివలెను రక్షింపలేని శూరుని వలెను నీవేల ఉన్నావు? యెహోవా, నీవు మామధ్య నున్నావే; మేము నీ పేరుపెట్టబడినవారము; మమ్మును చెయ్యి విడువకుము.

9. Shall I not visit them for these things, saith the Lord? or shall not my soul be revenged on such a nation?

10. యెహోవా ఈ జనులతో ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ జనులు తమ కాళ్లకు అడ్డములేకుండ తిరుగులాడుటకు ఇచ్ఛగలవారు గనుక యెహోవా వారిని అంగీకరింపడు; ఇప్పుడు ఆయన వారి అక్రమమును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనును; వారి పాపములనుబట్టి వారిని శిక్షించును.

10. For the mountains I will take up weeping and lamentation, and for the beautiful places of the desert, mourning: because they are burnt up, for that there is not a man that passeth through them: and they have not heard the voice of the owner: from the fowl of the air to the beasts they are gone away and departed.

11. మరియు యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెనువారికి మేలు కలుగునట్లు ఈ ప్రజల నిమిత్తము ప్రార్థన చేయకుము.

11. And I will make Jerusalem to be heaps of sand, and dens of dragons: and I will make the cities of Juda desolate, for want of an inhabitant.

12. వారు ఉపవాసమున్నప్పుడు నేను వారి మొఱ్ఱను వినను; వారు దహనబలియైనను నైవేద్యమైనను అర్పించునప్పుడు నేను వాటిని అంగీకరింపను; ఖడ్గమువలనను క్షామమువలనను తెగులువలనను వారిని నాశము చేసెదను

12. Who is the wise man, that may understand this, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord may come that he may declare this, why the land hath perished, and is burnt up like a wilderness, which none passeth through?

13. అందుకు నేను అయ్యో, ప్రభువైన యెహోవామీరు ఖడ్గము చూడరు మీకు క్షామము కలుగదు, ఈ చోటను నేను స్థిరమైన సమాధానము మీకిచ్చెదనని ప్రవక్తలు వారితో చెప్పుచున్నారవి నేననగా

13. And the Lord said: Because they have forsaken my law, which I gave them, and have not heard my voice, and have not walked in it.

14. యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెనుప్రవక్తలు నా నామమునుబట్టి అబద్ధములు ప్రకటించుచున్నారు; నేను వారిని పంపలేదు, వారికి ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యలేదు, వారితో మాటలాడలేదు, వారు అసత్య దర్శనమును శకునమును మాయతంత్రమును తమ హృదయ మునపుట్టిన వంచనను ప్రకటన చేయుచున్నారు.

14. But they have gone after the perverseness of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them.

15. కావున నేను వారిని పంపకపోయినను, నా నామమునుబట్టి ఖడ్గమైనను క్షామమైనను ఈ దేశములోనికి రాదని చెప్పుచు అబద్ధప్రవచనములు ప్రకటించు ప్రవక్తలను గూర్చి యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుఆ ప్రవక్తలు ఖడ్గమువలనను క్షామమువలనను లయమగుదురు.

15. Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will feed this people with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

16. వారెవరితో అట్టి ప్రవచనములు చెప్పుదురో ఆ జనులు క్షామమునకును ఖడ్గమునకును పాలై యెరూషలేము వీధులలో పడవేయ బడెదరు; నేను వారి చెడుతనమును వారిమీదికి రప్పించె దను. వారినైనను వారి భార్యలనైనను వారి కుమారులనైనను వారి కుమార్తెలనైనను పాతిపెట్టువాడెవడును లేక పోవును.

16. And I will scatter them among the nations, which they and their fathers have not known: and I will send the sword after them till they be consumed.

17. నీవు వారితో చెప్పవలసిన మాట ఏదనగానా జనుల కన్యక గొప్ప ఉపద్రవమువలన పీడింపబడుచున్నది, ఘోరమైన గాయము నొందియున్నది; దివారాత్రము మానక నా కన్నులనుండి కన్నీరు కారుచున్నది.

17. Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, and let them come: and send to them that are wise women, and let them make haste:

18. పొలము లోనికి నేను పోగా ఖడ్గముచేత హతులైనవారు కనబడుదురు, పట్టణములో ప్రవేశింపగా క్షామపీడితులు అచ్చట నుందురు; ప్రవక్తలేమి యాజకులేమి తామెరుగని దేశము నకు పోవలెనని ప్రయాణమైయున్నారు.

18. Let them hasten and take up a lamentation for us: let our eyes shed tears, and our eyelids run down with waters.

19. నీవు యూదాను బొత్తిగా విసర్జించితివా? సీయోను నీకు అసహ్యమాయెనా? మాకు చికిత్స దొరకకుండునంతగా నీవేల మమ్మును కొట్టితివి? మేము సమాధానముకొరకు కని పెట్టుచున్నాము గాని మేలేదియు కనబడుటలేదు; చికిత్స కలుగు కాలముకొరకు కనిపెట్టుచున్నాము గాని భీతి తగిలియున్నది.

19. For a voice of wailing is heard out of Sion: How are we wasted and greatly confounded? because we have left the land, because our dwellings are cast down.

20. యెహోవా, మా దుర్మార్గతను మా పితరుల దోషమును మేము ఒప్పుకొనుచున్నాము; నీకు విరోధముగా పాపము చేసియున్నాము.

20. Hear therefore, ye women, the word of the Lord: and let your ears receive the word of his mouth: and teach your daughters wailing: and every one her neighbor mourning.

21. నీ నామమునుబట్టి మమ్మును త్రోసివేయకుము, ప్రశస్తమైన నీ సింహాసనమును అవమానపరచకుము, మాతో నీవు చేసిన నిబంధనను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుము, దాని భ్రష్ఠపరచకుమీ.

21. For death is come up through our windows, it is entered into our houses to destroy the children from without, the young men from the streets.

22. జనముల వ్యర్థ దేవతలలో వర్షము కురిపింపగలవారున్నారా? ఆకాశము వాననియ్యగలదా? మా దేవుడవైన యెహోవా, నీవే గదా దాని చేయుచున్నావు? నీవే యీ క్రియలన్నియు చేయు చున్నావు; నీకొరకే మేము కనిపెట్టుచున్నాము.

22. Speak: Thus saith the Lord: Even the carcass of man shall fall as dung upon the face of the country, and as grass behind the back of the mower, and there is none to gather it.
