1. తరువాత దావీదు కుమారుడగు అబ్షాలోమునకు తామారను నొక సుందరవతియగు సహోదరియుండగా దావీదు కుమారుడగు అమ్నోను ఆమెను మోహించెను.

1. David had a son named Absalom and a son named Amnon. Absalom had a beautiful sister named Tamar, and Amnon loved her.

2. తామారు కన్యయైనందున ఆమెకు ఏమి చేయవలెనన్నను దుర్లభమని అమ్నోను గ్రహించి చింతాక్రాంతుడై తన చెల్లెలైన తామారునుబట్టి చిక్కిపోయెను.

2. Tamar was a virgin. Amnon made himself sick just thinking about her, because he could not find any chance to be alone with her.

3. అమ్నోనునకు మిత్రుడొకడుండెను. అతడు దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యా కుమారుడు, అతని పేరు యెహోనాదాబు. ఈ యెహోనాదాబు బహు కపటముగలవాడు. అతడు

3. Amnon had a friend named Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother. Jonadab was a very clever man.

4. He asked Amnon, 'Son of the king, why do you look so sad day after day? Tell me what's wrong!' Amnon told him, 'I love Tamar, the sister of my half-brother Absalom.'

5. యెహోనాదాబు­నీవు రోగివైనట్టువేషము వేసికొని నీ మంచముమీద పండుకొనియుండుము. నీ తండ్రి నిన్ను చూచుటకు వచ్చినప్పుడు నీవు­నా చెల్లెలైన తామారుచేత సిద్ధపరచబడిన భోజనము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా దానిని సిద్ధము చేసి నాకు పెట్టునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని అడుగుమని అతనికి బోధింపగా అమ్నోను పడకమీద పండుకొనెను.

5. Jonadab said to Amnon, 'Go to bed and act as if you are sick. Then your father will come to see you. Tell him, 'Please let my sister Tamar come in and give me food to eat. Let her make the food in front of me so I can watch and eat it from her hand.''

6. అమ్నోను కాయిలాపడెనని రాజు అతని చూడ వచ్చినప్పుడు అమ్నోనునా చెల్లెలగు తామారు చేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా నాకొరకు రెండు అప్పములు చేయుటకు సెల విమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేయగా

6. So Amnon went to bed and acted sick. When King David came in to see him, Amnon said to him, 'Please let my sister Tamar come in. Let her make two of her special cakes for me while I watch. Then I will eat them from her hands.'

7. దావీదునీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయి అతనికొరకు భోజనము సిద్ధము చేయుమని తామారు ఇంటికి వర్తమానము పంపెను.

7. David sent for Tamar in the palace, saying, 'Go to your brother Amnon's house and make some food for him.'

8. కాబట్టి తామారు తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయెను.

8. So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house, and he was in bed. Tamar took some dough and pressed it together with her hands. She made some special cakes while Amnon watched. Then she baked them.

9. అతడు పండుకొనియుండగా ఆమె పిండితీసికొని కలిపి అతని యెదుట అప్పములు చేసి వాటిని కాల్చి బొరుసు పట్టుకొని అతనికి వడ్డింపగా అతడునాకు వద్దని చెప్పిఉన్నవారందరు నాయొద్ద నుండి అవతలకు పొండ నెను.

9. Next she took the pan and served him, but he refused to eat. He said to his servants, 'All of you, leave me alone!' So they all left him alone.

10. వారందరు బయటికి పోయిన తరువాత అమ్నోనునీచేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు దానిని గదిలోనికి తెమ్మనగా, తామారు తాను చేసిన అప్పములను తీసికొని గదిలోపలనున్న తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

10. Amnon said to Tamar, 'Bring the food into the bedroom so I may eat from your hand.' Tamar took the cakes she had made and brought them to her brother Amnon in the bedroom.

11. అయితే అతడు భుజింపవలెనని ఆమె వాటిని తీసికొనివచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు ఆమెను పట్టుకొనినా చెల్లీ రమ్ము, నాతో శయనించుము అని చెప్పగా

11. She went to him so he could eat from her hands, but Amnon grabbed her. He said, 'Sister, come and have sexual relations with me.'

12. ఆమెనా అన్నా, నన్ను అవమానపరచకుము; ఈలాగు చేయుట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తగదు, ఇట్టి జారకార్యము నీవు చేయవద్దు, నా యవమానము నేనెక్కడ దాచు కొందును?

12. Tamar said to him, 'No, brother! Don't force me! This should never be done in Israel! Don't do this shameful thing!

13. నీవును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో దుర్మార్గుడవగు దువు; అయితే ఇందునుగూర్చి రాజుతో మాటలాడుము;

13. I could never get rid of my shame! And you will be like the shameful fools in Israel! Please talk with the king, and he will let you marry me.'

14. అతడు నన్ను నీకియ్యక పోడు అని చెప్పినను అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక ఆమెను బలవంతముచేసి అవమానపరచి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

14. But Amnon refused to listen to her. He was stronger than she was, so he forced her to have sexual relations with him.

15. అమ్నోను ఈలాగు చేసిన తరువాత ఆమెయెడల అత్యధికమైన ద్వేషము పుట్టి అదివరకు ఆమెను ప్రేమించినంతకంటె అతడు మరి యెక్కువగా ఆమెను ద్వేషించి లేచి పొమ్మని ఆమెతో చెప్పగా

15. After that, Amnon hated Tamar. He hated her more than he had loved her before. Amnon said to her, 'Get up and leave!'

16. ఆమెనన్ను బయటకు తోసివేయుటవలన నాకు నీవిప్పుడు చేసిన కీడుకంటె మరి యెక్కువకీడు చేయకుమని చెప్పినను

16. Tamar said to him, 'No! Sending me away would be worse than what you've already done!' But he refused to listen to her.

17. అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక తన పని వారిలో ఒకని పిలిచిదీనిని నాయొద్దనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టి తలుపు గడియ వేయుమని చెప్పెను.

17. He called his young servant back in and said, 'Get this woman out of here and away from me! Lock the door after her.'

18. కన్యకలైన రాజకుమార్తెలు వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరలు ధరించువారు ఆమె యట్టి చీరయొకటి ధరించి యుండెను. పనివాడు ఆమెను బయటికి వెళ్లగొట్టి మరల రాకుండునట్లు తలుపు గడియవేసెను.

18. So his servant led her out of the room and bolted the door after her. Tamar was wearing a special robe with long sleeves, because the king's virgin daughters wore this kind of robe.

19. అప్పుడు తామారు నెత్తిమీద బుగ్గిపోసికొని తాను కట్టుకొనిన వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరను చింపి నెత్తి మీద చెయ్యిపెట్టుకొని యేడ్చుచు పోగా

19. To show how upset she was, Tamar put ashes on her head and tore her special robe and put her hand on her head. Then she went away, crying loudly.

20. ఆమె అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఆమెను చూచినీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నిన్ను కూడినాడు గదా? నా చెల్లీ నీవు ఊర కుండుము; అతడు నీ అన్నే గదా, యిందునుగూర్చి చింతపడవద్దనెను. కావున తామారు చెరుపబడినదై తన అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఇంట నుండెను.

20. Absalom, Tamar's brother, said to her, 'Has Amnon, your brother, forced you to have sexual relations with him? For now, sister, be quiet. He is your half-brother. Don't let this upset you so much!' So Tamar lived in her brother Absalom's house and was sad and lonely.

21. ఈ సంగతి రాజగు దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు బహురౌద్రము తెచ్చుకొనెను.

21. When King David heard the news, he was very angry.

22. అబ్షాలోము తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోనుతో మంచి చెడ్డ లేమియు మాటలాడక ఊరకుండెను గాని, తన సహోదరియగు తామారును బలవంతము చేసి నందుకై అతనిమీద పగయుంచెను.

22. Absalom did not say a word, good or bad, to Amnon. But he hated Amnon for disgracing his sister Tamar.

23. రెండు సంవత్సరములైన తరువాత ఎఫ్రాయిమునకు సమీపమందుండు బయల్దాసోరులో అబ్షాలోము గొఱ్ఱెల బొచ్చు కత్తిరించుకాలము రాగా అబ్షాలోము రాజకుమారుల నందరిని విందునకు పిలిచెను.

23. Two years later Absalom had some men come to Baal Hazor, near Ephraim, to cut the wool from his sheep. Absalom invited all the king's sons to come also.

24. అబ్షాలోము రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము, నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు గొఱ్ఱె బొచ్చు కత్తిరించు కాలము వచ్చెను; రాజవైన నీవును నీ సేవకులును విందునకు రావలెనని నీ దాసుడనైన నేను కోరుచున్నానని మనవి చేయగా

24. Absalom went to the king and said, 'I have men coming to cut the wool. Please come with your officers and join me.'

25. రాజునా కుమారుడా, మమ్మును పిలువవద్దు; మేము నీకు అధిక భారముగా ఉందుము; మేమందరము రాతగదని చెప్పినను అబ్షాలోము రాజును బలవంతము చేసెను.

25. King David said to Absalom, 'No, my son. We won't all go, because it would be too much trouble for you.' Although Absalom begged David, he would not go, but he did give his blessing.

26. అయితే దావీదు వెళ్ల నొల్లక అబ్షాలోమును దీవించి పంపగా అబ్షాలోమునీవు రాకపోయిన యెడల నా అన్నయగు అమ్నోను మాతోకూడ వచ్చునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేసెను. అతడు నీయొద్దకు ఎందుకు రావలెనని రాజు అడుగగా

26. Absalom said, 'If you don't want to come, then please let my brother Amnon come with us.' King David asked, 'Why should he go with you?'

27. అబ్షాలోము అతని బతిమాలినందున రాజు అమ్నోనును తన కుమారులందరును అతని యొద్దకు పోవచ్చు నని సెలవిచ్చెను.

27. Absalom kept begging David until he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with Absalom.

28. అంతలో అబ్షాలోము తన పనివారిని పిలిచి, అమ్నోను ద్రాక్షారసమువలన సంతోషియై యుండుట మీరు కనిపెట్టియుండి అమ్నోనును హతము చేయుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పు నప్పుడు భయపడక అతని చంపుడి, నేను గదా మీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి యున్నాను, ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని పౌరుషము చూపుడి అని గట్టిగా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

28. Then Absalom instructed his servants, 'Watch Amnon. When he is drunk, I will tell you, 'Kill Amnon.' Right then, kill him! Don't be afraid, because I have commanded you! Be strong and brave!'

29. అబ్షాలోము ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పునవారు చేయగా రాజకుమారులందరును లేచి తమ కంచరగాడిదల నెక్కి పారిపోయిరి.

29. So Absalom's young men killed Amnon as Absalom commanded, but all of David's other sons got on their mules and escaped.

30. వారు మార్గములో ఉండగానే యొకడును లేకుండ రాజకుమారులను అందరిని అబ్షాలోము హతముచేసెనని దావీదునకు వార్త రాగా

30. While the king's sons were on their way, the news came to David, 'Absalom has killed all of the king's sons! Not one of them is left alive!'

31. అతడు లేచి వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని నేలపడియుండెను; మరియు అతని సేవకులందరు వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని దగ్గర నిలువబడియుండిరి.

31. King David tore his clothes and lay on the ground to show his sadness. All his servants standing nearby tore their clothes also.

32. దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యాకు పుట్టిన యెహోనాదాబు దీనిని చూచిరాజకుమారులైన ¸యవ నులనందరిని వారు చంపిరని నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు తలంచవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెను; ఏల యనగా అతడు అబ్షాలోము చెల్లెలైన తామారును బలవంతము చేసిననాటనుండి అబ్షా లోము అతని చంపవలెనను తాత్పర్యముతో ఉండెనని అతని నోటి మాటనుబట్టి నిశ్చ యించుకొనవచ్చును.

32. Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother, said to David, 'Don't think all the young men, your sons, are killed. No, only Amnon is dead! Absalom has planned this ever since Amnon forced his sister Tamar to have sexual relations with him.

33. కాబట్టి నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు రాజకుమారులందరును మరణమైరని తలచి విచారపడవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెననెను.

33. My master and king, don't think that all of the king's sons are dead. Only Amnon is dead!'

34. అబ్షాలోము ఇంతకు ముందు పారిపోయి యుండెను. కావలియున్న పని వాడు ఎదురుచూచుచున్నప్పుడు తన వెనుక కొండ ప్రక్కనున్న మార్గమున వచ్చుచున్న అనేక జనులు కనబడిరి.

34. In the meantime Absalom had run away. A guard standing on the city wall saw many people coming from the other side of the hill.

35. యెహోనాదాబు అదిగో రాజకుమారులు వచ్చియున్నారు; నీ దాసుడనైన నేను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము గానే ఆయెనని రాజుతో చెప్పెను.

35. So Jonadab said to King David, 'Look, I was right! The king's sons are coming!'

36. అతడు ఆమాటలాడ చాలింపగానే రాజకుమారులు వచ్చి బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్వ సాగిరి, రాజును అతని సేవకులందరును దీనిని చూచి బహుగా ఏడ్చిరి.

36. As soon as Jonadab had said this, the king's sons arrived, crying loudly. David and all his servants began crying also.

37. అయితే అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి అమీహూదు కుమారుడైన తల్మయి అను గెషూరు రాజునొద్ద చేరెను. దావీదు అనుదినమును తన కుమారునికొరకు అంగలార్చుచుండెను.

37. David cried for his son every day. But Absalom ran away to Talmain son of Ammihud, the king of Geshur.

38. అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి గెషూరునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ మూడు సంవత్సరములున్న తరువాత

38. After Absalom ran away to Geshur, he stayed there for three years.

39. రాజైన దావీదు అమ్నోను మరణమాయెననుకొని అతనినిగూర్చి యోదార్పు నొందినవాడై అబ్షాలోమును పట్టుకొనవలెనన్న ఆలోచన మానెను.

39. When King David got over Amnon's death, he missed Absalom greatly.
