1. రాజైన దావీదు బహు వృద్ధుడు కాగా సేవకులు అతనికి ఎన్నిబట్టలు కప్పినను అతనికి వెట్ట కలుగక యుండెను.

1. Now when King Dauid was olde, and striken in yeeres, they couered him with clothes, but no heate came vnto him.

2. కాబట్టి వారుమా యేలినవాడవును రాజవునగు నీకొరకు తగిన చిన్నదాని వెదకుట మంచిది; ఆమె రాజైన నీ సముఖమందుండి నిన్ను ఆదరించి వెట్ట కలుగుటకు నీ కౌగిటిలో పండుకొనునని చెప్పి

2. Wherefore his seruants saide vnto him, Let there be sought for my lord ye King a yong virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him: and let her lie in thy bosome, that my lord the King may get heate.

3. ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల దేశపు దిక్కులన్నిటిలో తిరిగి ఒక చక్కని చిన్నదాని వెదకి, అబీషగు అను షూనేమీయురాలిని చూచి రాజునొద్దకు తీసికొని వచ్చిరి.

3. So they sought for a faire young maide thoroughout all the coastes of Israel, and founde one Abishag a Shunamite, and brought her to the king.

4. ఈ చిన్నది బహు చక్కనిదై యుండి రాజును ఆదరించి ఉపచారము చేయు చుండెను గాని రాజు దానిని కూడలేదు.

4. And the maid was exceeding faire, and cherished the king, and ministred to him, but the King knew her not.

5. హగ్గీతు కుమారుడైన అదోనీయా గర్వించిన వాడైనేనే రాజు నగుదునని అనుకొని, రథములను గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులను తనకు ముందుగా పరుగెత్తుటకు ఏబదిమంది మనుష్యులను ఏర్ప రచుకొనెను.

5. Then Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith exalted himselfe, saying, I will be king. And he gate him charets and horsemen, and fiftie men to run before him.

6. అతని తండ్రినీవు ఈలాగున ఏల చేయు చున్నావని అతనిచేత ఎప్పుడును విచారించి అతనికి నొప్పి కలుగజేయలేదు. చూచుటకు అతడు బహు సౌంద ర్యము గలవాడు, అబ్షాలోము తరువాత పుట్టినవాడు.

6. And his father would not displease him from his childehood, to say, Why hast thou done so? And hee was a very goodly man, and his mother bare him next after Absalom.

7. అతడు సెరూయా కుమారుడైన యోవాబుతోను యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారుతోను ఆలోచన చేయగా వారు అదోనీయా పక్షము వహించి అతనికి సహాయము చేసిరి గాని

7. And he tooke counsel of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah, and of Abiathar the Priest: and they helped forward Adoniiah.

8. యాజకుడైన సాదోకును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాయును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును షిమీయును రేయీయును దావీదుయొక్క శూరులును అదోనీయాతో కలిసికొనక యుండిరి.

8. But Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and Nathan the Prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the men of might, which were with Dauid, were not with Adoniiah.

9. అదోనీయా ఏన్‌రోగేలు సమీప మందుండు జోహెలేతు అను బండదగ్గర గొఱ్ఱెలను ఎడ్లను క్రొవ్విన దూడలను బలిగా అర్పించి, రాజకుమారు లగు తన సహోదరులనందరిని యూదావారగు రాజు యొక్క సేవకులనందరిని పిలిపించెను గాని

9. Then Adoniiah sacrificed sheepe and oxen, and fat cattel by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the kings sonnes, and al the men of Iudah ye Kings seruants,

10. ప్రవక్తయగు నాతానును బెనాయనును దావీదు శూరులను తనకు సహోదరుడైన సొలొమోనును పిలువలేదు.

10. But Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah, and the mightie men, and Salomon his brother hee called not.

11. అప్పుడు నాతాను సొలొమోను తల్లియైన బత్షెబతో చెప్పిన దేమనగాహగ్గీతు కుమారుడైన అదోనీయా యేలుచున్న సంగతి నీకు వినబడలేదా? అయితే ఈ సంగతి మనయేలినవాడైన దావీదునకు తెలియకయే యున్నది.

11. Wherefore Nathan spake vnto Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon, saying, Hast thou not heard, that Adoniiah ye sonne of Haggith doeth reigne, and Dauid our lord knoweth it not?

12. కాబట్టి నీ ప్రాణమును నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను ప్రాణమును రక్షించుకొనుటకై నేను నీకొక ఆలోచన చెప్పెదను వినుము.

12. Now therefore come, and I will now giue thee counsell, howe to saue thine owne life, and the life of thy sonne Salomon.

13. నీవు రాజైన దావీదునొద్దకు పోయినా యేలినవాడా, రాజా, అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను నా వెనుక ఏలువాడై నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని నీ సేవకురాలనైన నాకు నీవు ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా సెలవిచ్చితివే; అదోనీయా యేలుచుండుట యేమని అడుగవలెను.

13. Go, and get thee in vnto King Dauid, and say vnto him, Didest not thou, my lorde, O King, sweare vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne? why is then Adoniiah King?

14. రాజుతో నీవు మాటలాడుచుండగా నేను నీవెనుక లోపలికి వచ్చి నీవు విన్నవించిన మాటలను రూఢిపరచుదునని చెప్పెను.

14. Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the King, I also will come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.

15. కాబట్టి బత్షెబ గదిలోనున్న రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెను. రాజు బహు వృద్ధుడైనందున షూనేమీయురాలైన అబీషగు రాజును కనిపెట్టు చుండెను.

15. So Bath-sheba went in vnto the King into the chamber, and the King was verie olde, and Abishag the Shunammite ministred vnto ye King.

16. బత్షెబ వచ్చి రాజు ఎదుట సాగిలపడి నమస్కారము చేయగా రాజునీ కోరిక ఏమని అడిగి నందుకు ఆమె యీలాగు మనవి చేసెను

16. And Bath-sheba bowed and made obeisance vnto the King. And the King saide, What is thy matter?

17. నా యేలిన వాడా, నీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాతోడని నీ సేవకు రాలనైన నాకు ప్రమాణము చేసి అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారు డైన సొలొమోను నా వెనుక ఏలువాడై నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని సెలవిచ్చితివే,

17. And shee answered him, My lorde, thou swarest by the Lord thy God vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne.

18. ఇప్పుడైతే అదోనీయా యేలుచున్నాడు. ఈ సంగతి నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవునగు నీకు తెలియకయే యున్నది.

18. And beholde, nowe is Adoniiah king, and now, my lord, O King, thou knowest it not.

19. అతడు ఎడ్లను క్రొవ్విన దూడలను గొఱ్ఱెలను బలిగా అర్పించి రాజ కుమారులనందరిని యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారును సైన్యాధి పతియైన యోవాబును పిలిపించెను గాని నీ సేవకుడైన సొలొమోనును పిలువలేదు.

19. And he hath offred many oxen, and fatte cattel, and sheepe, and hath called all the sonnes of the King, and Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste: but Salomon thy seruant hath he not bidden.

20. నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా, నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజవగు నీ తరువాత సింహాసనము మీద ఎవడు ఆసీనుడగునో అందునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరును కనిపెట్టియున్నారు.

20. And thou, my lorde, O King, knowest that the eyes of all Israel are on thee, that thou shouldest tell them, who shoulde sit on the throne of my lord the King after him.

21. ఇదిగాక నా యేలినవాడ వైన రాజవగు నీవు నీ పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రపొందిన తరువాత నేనును నా కుమారుడైన సొలొమోనును అప రాధులముగా ఎంచబడుదుము.

21. For els when my lord the King shall sleepe with his fathers, I and my sonne Salomon shalbe reputed vile.

22. ఆమె రాజుతో మాట లాడుచున్నప్పుడు ప్రవక్తయగు నాతానును లోపలికిరాగాప్రవక్తయగు నాతాను వచ్చి యున్నాడని సేవకులు రాజునకు తెలియజేసిరి.

22. And lo, while she yet talked with the King, Nathan also the Prophet came in.

23. అతడు రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చి నమస్కారము చేసి సాష్టాంగపడి

23. And they tolde the King, saying, Beholde, Nathan the Prophet. And when he was come in to the King, hee made obeisance before the King vpon his face to the ground.

24. నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా, అదోనీయా నీ తరువాత ఏలువాడై నీ సింహాసనముమీద కూర్చుండునని నీవు సెలవిచ్చితివా?

24. And Nathan saide, My lorde, O King, hast thou said, Adoniiah shall reigne after mee, and he shall sit vpon my throne?

25. ఏలయనగా ఈ దినమున అతడు పోయి విస్తారమైన యెడ్లను క్రొవ్విన దూడలను గొఱ్ఱెలను బలిగా అర్పించి రాజకుమారులనందరిని సైన్యాధిపతులను యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారును పిలిపింపగా వారు వాని సముఖములో అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనుచురాజైన అదోనీయా చిరంజీవి యగునుగాక అని పలుకుచున్నారు.

25. For hee is gone downe this day, and hath slaine many oxen, and fat cattel, and sheepe, and hath called al the Kings sonnes, and the captaines of the hoste, and Abiathar the Priest: and behold, they eate and drinke before him, and say, God saue King Adoniiah.

26. అయితే నీ సేవకుడనైన నన్నును యాజకుడైన సాదోకును యెహో యాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాను నీ సేవకుడైన సొలొమోనును అతడు పిలిచినవాడు కాడు.

26. But me thy seruant, and Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and thy seruant Salomon hath he not called.

27. నా యేలినవాడ వును రాజవునగు నీ తరువాత నీ సింహాసనముమీద ఎవడు ఆసీనుడై యుండునో అది నీ సేవకుడనైన నాతో చెప్పక యుందువా? ఈ కార్యము నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవు నగు నీ సెలవు చొప్పున జరుగుచున్నదా? అని యడిగెను.

27. Is this thing done by my lord the King, and thou hast not shewed it vnto thy seruant, who should sitte on the throne of my lorde the King after him?

28. దావీదు బత్షెబను పిలువుమని సెలవియ్యగా ఆమె రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చి రాజు ఎదుట నిలువబడెను.

28. Then King Dauid answered, and saide, Call me Bath-sheba. And shee came into ye Kings presence, and stoode before the King.

29. అప్పుడు రాజు ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా చెప్పినదేమనగాసకలమైన ఉపద్రవములలోనుండి నన్ను విడిపించిన యెహోవా జీవముతోడు

29. And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my soule out of all aduersitie,

30. అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను నా తరువాత ఏలువాడై నాకు ప్రతిగా నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా నామము తోడని నేను నీకు ప్రమాణము చేసినదానిని ఈ దినముననే నెరవేర్చుదునని చెప్పగా

30. That as I sware vnto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and hee shall sit vpon my throne in my place, so will I certainely doe this day.

31. బత్షెబ సాగిల పడి రాజునకు నమస్కారము చేసినా యేలినవాడైన రాజగు దావీదు సదాకాలము బ్రదుకును గాక అనెను.

31. Then Bath-sheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reuerence vnto the King, and said, God saue my lord King Dauid for euer.

32. అప్పుడు రాజైన దావీదుయాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్త యైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనా యాను నాయొద్దకు పిలువుమని సెలవియ్యగా వారు రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చిరి.

32. And King Dauid saide, Call mee Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada. And they came before the King.

33. అంతట రాజుమీరు మీ యేలిన వాడనైన నా సేవకులను పిలుచుకొని పోయి నా కుమారు డైన సొలొమోనును నా కంచర గాడిదమీద ఎక్కించి గిహోనునకు తీసికొనిపోయి

33. Then the King said vnto them, Take with you the seruants of your lorde, and cause Salomon my sonne to ride vpon mine owne mule, and carie him downe to Gihon.

34. యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును అక్కడ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద రాజుగా అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిన తరువాత మీరు బాకానాదము చేసిరాజైన సొలొమోను చిరంజీవి యగునుగాక అని ప్రకటన చేయవలెను.

34. And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there King ouer Israel, and blowe ye the trumpet, and say, God saue king Salomon.

35. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీదను యూదావారిమీదను నేనతనిని అధికారిగా నియమించి యున్నాను గనుక పిమ్మట మీరు యెరూష లేమునకు అతని వెంటరాగా అతడు నా సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడై నాకు ప్రతిగా రాజగును అని సెలవిచ్చెను.

35. Then come vp after him, that hee may come and sit vpon my throne: and hee shall bee King in my steade: for I haue appointed him to be prince ouer Israel and ouer Iudah.

36. అందుకు యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయా రాజు నకు ప్రత్యుత్తరముగా ఇట్లనెనుఆలాగు జరుగును గాక, నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవునగు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఆ మాటను స్థిరపరచును గాక.

36. Then Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada answered the King, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the King ratifie it.

37. యెహోవా నా యేలిన వాడవును రాజవునగు నీకు తోడుగా నుండినట్లు ఆయన సొలొమోనునకు తోడుగానుండి, నా యేలినవాడైన రాజగు దావీదుయొక్క రాజ్యముకంటె అతని రాజ్యము ఘనముగా చేయునుగాక అనెను;

37. As the Lord hath bene with my lorde the King, so be he with Salomon, and exalt his throne aboue the throne of my lorde king Dauid.

38. కాబట్టి యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాయును కెరేతీయులును పెలేతీయు లును రాజైన దావీదు కంచరగాడిదమీద సొలొమోనును ఎక్కించి గిహోనునకు తీసికొని రాగా

38. So Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went downe and caused Salomon to ride vpon king Dauids mule, and brought him to Gihon.

39. యాజకుడైన సాదోకు గుడారములోనుండి తైలపు కొమ్మును తెచ్చి సొలొమోనునకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేసెను. అప్పుడు వారు బాకా ఊదగా కూడిన జనులందరునురాజైన సొలొమోను చిరంజీవియగునుగాక అని కేకలువేసిరి

39. And Zadok the Priest tooke an horne of oyle out of the Tabernacle, and anointed Salomon: and they blewe the trumpet, and all the people said, God saue king Salomon.

40. మరియు ఆ జనులందరును అతని వెంబడివచ్చి పిల్లనగ్రోవులను ఊదుచు, వాటి నాదముచేత నేల బద్దలగునట్లు అత్యధిక ముగా సంతోషించిరి.

40. And all the people came vp after him, and the people piped with pipes, and reioyced with great ioye, so that the earth rang with the sound of them.

41. అదోనీయాయును అతడు పిలిచిన వారందరును విందులో ఉండగా విందు ముగియబోవు సమయమున ఆ చప్పుడు వారికి వినబడెను. యోవాబు బాకానాదము వినిపట్టణమునందు ఈ అల్లరి యేమని యడుగగా

41. And Adoniiah and all the ghestes that were with him, heard it: (and they had made an ende of eating) and when Ioab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, What meaneth this noise and vprore in the citie?

42. యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారు కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను వచ్చెను. అదోనీయాలోపలికి రమ్ము, నీవు ధైర్యవంతుడవు, నీవు శుభ సమాచారములతో వచ్చుచున్నావనగా

42. And as he yet spake, beholde, Ionathan the sonne of Abiathar the Priest came: and Adoniiah said, Come in: for thou art a worthie man, and bringest good tidings.

43. యోనాతాను అదోనీయాతో ఇట్లనెనునిజముగా మన యేలినవాడును రాజునగు దావీదు సొలొమోనును రాజుగా నియమించియున్నాడు.

43. And Ionathan answered, and said to Adoniiah, Verely our lord King Dauid hath made Salomon King.

44. రాజు యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనా యానును కెరేతీయులను పెలేతీయులను అతనితోకూడ పంపగా వారు రాజు కంచరగాడిదమీద అతని నూరే గించిరి;

44. And the King hath sent with him Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they haue caused him to ride vpon the Kings mule.

45. యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును గిహోను దగ్గర అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిరి; అక్కడ నుండి వారు సంతోషముగా వచ్చియున్నారు; అందువలన పట్టణము అల్లరి ఆయెను; మీకు వినబడిన ధ్వని యిదే.

45. And Zadok the Priest, and Nathan ye Prophet haue anointed him King in Gihon: and they are gone vp from thence with ioy, and the citie is moued: this is the noise that ye haue heard.

46. మరియు సొలొమోను రాజ్యాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడై యున్నాడు;

46. And Salomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdome.

47. అందుకై రాజు సేవకులు మన యేలినవాడును రాజునగు దావీదునకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెల్లింప వచ్చి, నీకు కలిగిన ఖ్యాతి కంటె సొలొమోనునకు ఎక్కువైన ఖ్యాతి కలుగునట్లును, నీ రాజ్యముకంటె అతని రాజ్యము ఘనముగా ఉండునట్లును దేవుడు దయచేయును గాక అని చెప్పగా రాజు మంచముమీద సాగిలపడి నమ స్కారము చేసి యిట్లనెను

47. And moreouer the Kings seruantes came to blesse our lord King Dauid, saying, God make the name of Salomon more famous then thy name, and exalt his throne aboue thy throne: therefore the King worshipped vpon the bed.

48. నేను సజీవినై యుండగా ఈ దినమున జరిగినట్లు నా సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడగుటకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఒకని నాకు దయచేసినందుకు ఆయనకు స్తోత్రము కలుగునుగాక అనెను.

48. And thus sayd the King also, Blessed bee the Lord God of Israel, who hath made one to sit on my throne this day, euen in my sight.

49. అందుకు అదోనీయా పిలిచిన వారు భయపడి లేచి తమ తమ యిండ్లకు వెళ్లిపోయిరి.

49. Then all the ghestes that were with Adonijah, were afraide, and rose vp, and went euery man his way.

50. అదోనీయా సొలొమోనునకు భయపడి లేచి బయలుదేరి బలిపీఠపు కొమ్ములను పట్టుకొనెను.

50. And Adonijah fearing the presence of Salomon, arose and went, and tooke holde on the hornes of the altar.

51. అదోనీయా రాజైన సొలొ మోనునకు భయపడి బలిపీఠపు కొమ్ములను పట్టుకొనిరాజైన సొలొమోను తన సేవకుడనైన నన్ను కత్తిచేత చంపకుండ ఈ దినమున నాకు ప్రమాణము చేయవలెనని మనవి చేయుచున్నట్లు సొలొమోనునకు సమాచారము రాగా

51. And one tolde Salomon, saying, Beholde, Adonijah doeth feare King Salomon: for lo, he hath caught holde on the hornes of the altar, saying, Let King Salomon sweare vnto me this day, that he will not slay his seruant with the sword.

52. సొలొమోను ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను అతడు తన్ను యోగ్యునిగా అగుపరచుకొనిన యెడల అతని తల వెండ్రుకలలో ఒకటైనను క్రిందపడదు గాని అతనియందు దౌష్ట్యము కనబడిన యెడల అతనికి మరణశిక్ష వచ్చునని సెలవిచ్చి

52. Then Salomon sayd, If he will shewe him selfe a worthy man, there shall not an heare of him fall to the earth, but if wickednes be found in him, he shall dye.

53. బలిపీఠమునొద్దనుండి అతని పిలువనంపించెను; అతడు వచ్చి రాజైన సొలొమోను ఎదుట సాష్టాంగపడగా సొలొమోను అతనితోనీ యింటికి పొమ్మని సెలవిచ్చెను.

53. Then King Salomon sent, and they brought him from the altar, and he came and did obeisance vnto King Salomon. And Salomon sayde vnto him, Go to thine house.
