1. ఈ మాట ఆలకించి నీ మేలుకొరకు తెలిసికొనుము.దానికి యోబు ఇట్లని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then Job answered and said:

2. నా దుఃఖము చక్కగా తూచబడును గాకదాని సరిచూచుటకై నాకు వచ్చిన ఆపద త్రాసులోపెట్టబడును గాక.

2. Oh, that my grief were fully weighed, and my calamity laid with it on the scales!

3. ఆలాగున చేసినయెడల నా విపత్తు సముద్రముల ఇసుకకన్న బరువుగా కనబడును. అందువలన నేను నిరర్థకమైన మాటలు పలికితిని.

3. For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea; therefore my words have been rash.

4. సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవుని అంబులు నాలో చొచ్చెనువాటి విషమును నా ఆత్మ పానముచేయుచున్నదిదేవుని భీకరకార్యములు నాతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకై పంక్తులు తీరుచున్నవి.

4. For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.

5. అడవిగాడిద గడ్డి చూచి ఓండ్ర పెట్టునా?ఎద్దు మేత చూచి రంకెవేయునా?

5. Does the wild ass bray when it has grass, or does the ox low over its fodder?

6. ఉప్పులేక యెవరైన రుచిలేనిదాని తిందురా? గ్రుడ్డులోని తెలుపులో రుచికలదా?

6. Can something tasteless be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

7. నేను ముట్టనొల్లని వస్తువులు నాకు హేయములైనను అవియే నాకు భోజనపదార్థములాయెను.

7. My soul refuses to touch them; they are as sickening food.

8. ఆహా నా విన్నపము నాకు నెరవేర్చబడును గాకనేను కోరుదానిని దేవుడు నెరవేర్చును గాక

8. Oh, that I might have my request, that God would grant me the thing that I long for;

9. దేవుడు తన యిష్టానుసారముగా నన్ను నలుపును గాకచేయి జాడించి ఆయన నన్ను నిర్మూలము చేయునుగాక.

9. that it would please God to crush me, that He would loose His hand and cut me off!

10. అప్పుడు నేను పరిశుద్ధ దేవుని మాటలను ఒప్పుకొనకుండ లేదని నేను ఆదరణ పొందుదునుమరియు నేనెంత వేదనపడుచుండినను దాని బట్టి హర్షించుదును

10. Then I would still have comfort; though in anguish, I would leap for joy; let Him not spare; for I have not hidden the Words of the Holy One.

11. నా బలము ఏపాటిది? నేను కనిపెట్టుకొనుట యేల?నా అంతము ఏపాటిది? నేను తాళుకొనుట యేల?

11. What strength do I have, that I should hope? And what is my end, that I should prolong my life?

12. నా బలము రాళ్ల బలమువంటిదా?నా శరీరము ఇత్తడిదా?

12. Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh bronze?

13. నాలో త్రాణ యేమియు లేదు గదా.శక్తి నన్ను బొత్తిగా విడిచిపోయెను గదా.

13. Is my help not within me? And is wisdom driven from me?

14. క్రుంగిపోయినవాడుసర్వశక్తుడగు దేవునియందు భయభక్తులు మానుకొనినను స్నేహితుడు వానికి దయచూపతగును.

14. To him who is despairing, kindness should be shown by his friend; but he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

15. నా స్నేహితులు ఎండిన వాగువలెనుమాయమై పోవు జలప్రవాహములవలెను నమ్మకూడని వారైరి.

15. My brothers have dealt deceitfully. Like a brook, like the streams of the brooks, they pass away;

16. మంచుగడ్డలుండుటవలనను హిమము వాటిలో పడుటవలనను అవి మురికిగా కనబడును

16. which are dark because of the ice, and into which the snow vanishes.

17. వేసవి రాగానే అవి మాయమై పోవునువెట్ట కలుగగానే అవి తమ స్థలమును విడిచి ఆరిపోవును.

17. When it is warm, they stop flowing; when it is hot, they dry up from their place.

18. వాటి నీళ్లు ప్రవహించుదారి త్రిప్పబడును, ఏమియులేకుండ అవి యింకిపోవును.

18. The paths of their journey are winding; they go into nothingness and vanish.

19. సమూహముగా ప్రయాణముచేయు తేమా వర్తకులు వాటిని వెదకుదురు షేబ వర్తకులు వాటికొరకు కనిపెట్టుదురు.

19. The wanderers of Tema have paid attention; the travelers of Sheba have looked for them.

20. వారు వాటిని నమ్మినందుకు అవమానమొందుదురు వాటి చేరువకు వచ్చి కలవరపడుదురు.

20. They are disappointed because they had been confident, but when they had come there they were abashed.

21. అటువలె మీరు లేనట్టుగానే యున్నారు మీరు ఆపదను చూచి భయపడుచున్నారు.

21. Surely now you are nothing; you see terror and are afraid.

22. ఏమైన దయచేయుడని నేను మిమ్ము నడిగితినా? మీ ఆస్తిలోనుండి నాకొరకు బహుమానమేమైన తెమ్మని యడిగితినా?

22. Did I ever say, Bring something to me? Or, Offer a bribe for me from your wealth?

23. పగవానిచేతిలోనుండి నన్ను విడిపింపుడని యడిగితినా?బాధించువారి చేతిలోనుండి నన్ను విమోచింపుడని యడిగితినా?

23. Or, Deliver me from the hand of the adversary? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?

24. నాకుపదేశము చేయుడి, నేను మౌనినై యుండెదను ఏ విషయమందు నేను తప్పిపోతినో అది నాకు తెలియజేయుడి.

24. Teach me, and I will keep silent; cause me to understand in what way I have erred.

25. యథార్థమైన మాటలు ఎంతో బలమైనవి అయినను మీ గద్దింపు దేనికి ప్రయోజనము?

25. Right words are grievous, but what does your rebuke prove?

26. మాటలను గద్దించుదమని మీరనుకొందురా? నిరాశ గలవాని మాటలు గాలివంటివే గదా.

26. Do you intend to rebuke the words and the speeches of one in despair, as wind?

27. మీరు తండ్రిలేనివారిని కొనుటకై చీట్లువేయుదురు,మీ స్నేహితులమీద బేరము సాగింతురు.

27. Yea, you throw down the fatherless, and dig a pit for your friend.

28. దయచేసి నావైపు చూడుడి, మీ ముఖము ఎదుటనేను అబద్ధమాడుదునా?

28. Now therefore, be pleased to look at me; for my face will tell if I am lying.

29. అన్యాయము లేకుండ నా సంగతి మరల విచారించుడి మరల విచారించుడి, నేను నిర్దోషినిగా కనబడుదును.

29. Turn back, let there be no injustice! Yea, turn back; my righteousness still stands!

30. నా నోట అన్యాయముండునా?దుర్మార్గత రుచి నా నోరు తెలిసికొనజాలదా?

30. Is there injustice on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern calamity?
