1. రాజదేహసంరక్షకులకధిపతియైన నెబూజరదాను యెరూషలేములోనుండియు యూదాలోనుండియు బబులోనునకు చెరగా కొనిపోబడిన బందీ జనులందరిలోనుండి, సంకెళ్లచేత కట్టబడియున్న యిర్మీయాను తీసికొని రామాలో నుండి పంపివేయగా, యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు.

1. This is the manner how the LORD intreated Jeremy, when Nabuzaradan the chief Captain had let him go free from Raniah, whither he had led him bound among all the prisoners, that were carried from Jerusalem and Judah unto Babylon.

2. రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి యిర్మీయాను అవతలికి తీసికొపోయి అతనితో ఈలాగు మాటలాడెను ఈ స్థలమునకు నేను ఈ కీడు చేసెదనని నీ దేవుడగు యెహోవా ప్రకటించెను గదా.

2. The chief Captain called for Jeremy, and said unto him: The LORD thy God spake mightily before of the misery upon this place:

3. తాను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము యెహోవా దాని రప్పించి చేయించెను, మీరు యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా పాపముచేసి ఆయన మాటలు వినక పోతిరి గనుక మీకీగతి పట్టినది.

3. Now the LORD hath sent it, and performed it as he had promised: For ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not been obedient to his voice, therefore cometh this plague upon you.

4. ఆలకించుము, ఈ దినమున నేను నీ చేతుల సంకెళ్లను తీసి నిన్ను విడిపించుచున్నాను, నాతోకూడ బబులోనునకు వచ్చుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రమ్ము, నేను నిన్ను భద్రముగా కాపాడెదను; అయితే బబులోనునకు నాతోకూడ వచ్చుట మంచిదికాదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రావద్దు, దేశమంతట నీకేమియు అడ్డములేదు, ఎక్కడికి వెళ్లుట నీ దృష్టికి అను కూలమో, యెక్కడికి వెళ్లుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచునో అక్కడికి వెళ్లుము.

4. Behold, I loose(lowse) the bounds from thy hands this day: if thou wilt now go with me unto Babylon, up then: for I will see to thee, and provide for thee: But if thou wilt not go with me to Babylon, then remain here. Behold, all the land is at thy will, look where thou thinkest convenient and good for thee to abide, there dwell.

5. ఇంకను అతడు తిరిగి వెళ్లక తడవు చేయగా రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి అతనితో ఈలాగు చెప్పెను బబులోను రాజు షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యాను యూదాపట్టణములమీద నియమించి యున్నాడు, అతని యొద్దకు వెళ్లుము; అతని యొద్ద నివసించి ప్రజలమధ్యను కాపురముండుము, లేదా యెక్కడికి వెళ్లుట నీ దృష్టికి అనుకూలమో అక్కడికే వెళ్లుము. మరియు రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి అతనికి బత్తెమును బహుమానము ఇచ్చి అతని సాగనంపగా

5. If thou canst not be content to dwell alone, then remain with Godoliah the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan: whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people, or remain wheresoever it pleaseth thee. So the chief Captain of the guard gave him his expenses with a reward, and let him go.

6. యిర్మీయా మిస్పాలోనుండు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వెళ్లి అతనితో కూడ దేశములో మిగిలిన ప్రజలమధ్య కాపురముండెను.

6. Then went Jeremy unto Godoliah the son of Ahikam to Mazphah, and dwelt there with him among the people that were left in the land.

7. అయితే అచ్చటచ్చటనుండు సేనల యధిపతులందరును వారి పటాలపువారును, బబులోనురాజు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను దేశముమీద అధికారిగా నియమించి, బబులోనునకు చెరగొని పోబడక నిలిచినవారిలో స్త్రీలను పురుషులను పిల్లలను, దేశములోని అతినీరసులైన దరిద్రులను అతనికి అప్పగించెనని వినిరి.

7. Now when the captains of the Host of Juda (which with their fellows were scattered abroad on every side in the land) understood that the king of Babylon had made Godoliah the son of Ahicam governor in the land, and that man, wife and child, yea and the poor men in the land (that were not led captive to Babylon) should be under his Jurisdiction:

8. కాగా నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును కారేహ కుమారులైన యోహానాను యోనాతానులును తన్హుమెతు కుమారుడైన శెరాయాయును నెటోపాతీయుడైన ఏపయి కుమారులును మాయ కాతీయుడైనవాని కుమారుడగు యెజన్యాయును వారి పటాలపువారును మిస్పాలో నుండిన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి.

8. They came to Godoliah unto Mazphah: Namely, Ishmael the son of Nathaniah, and Johanan and Jonathah the sons of Careah, and Saraiah the son of Thanhometh, and the sons of Ophai the Netophathite, and Jesaniah the son of Maachati, with their companions.

9. అప్పుడు షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యా ప్రమాణముచేసి వారితోను వారి పటాలపువారితోను ఈలాగు చెప్పెను - మీరు కల్దీయులను సేవించుటకు భయపడకుడి, దేశములో కాపురముండి బబులోనురాజును సేవించినయెడల మీకు మేలు కలుగును.

9. And Godoliah the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan, swore unto them and their fellows on this manner: Be not afraid to serve the Caldees, dwell in the land, and do the king of Babylon service, so shall ye prosper.

10. నేనైతేనో నాయొద్దకు వచ్చు కల్దీయుల యెదుట నిలుచుటకై మిస్పాలో కాపురముందును గాని మీరు ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాల ఫలములను తైలమును సమకూర్చుకొని, మీ పాత్రలలో వాటిని పోసికొని మీరు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనిన పట్టణములలో కాపురముండుడి.

10. Behold, I dwell at Mazphah to be an officer in the Caldees behalf, and to satisfy such as come to us. Therefore gather you wine, corn and oil, and keep them in your ware houses, and dwell in your cities that ye have in keeping.

11. మోయాబులో నేమి అమ్మోనీయుల మధ్యనేమి ఎదోములో నేమి యేయే ప్రదేశములలోనేమి యున్న యూదులందరు బబులోనురాజు యూదాలో జనశేషమును విడిచెననియు, షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యాను వారిమీద నియమించెననియు వినినప్పుడు

11. Yea all the Jews also that dwelt in Moab, under the Ammonites, in Idumea and in all the countries, when they heard, that the king of Babylon had made Godoliah the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan, governor upon them that were left in Juda:

12. అందరును తాము తోలివేయబడిన స్థలములన్నిటిని విడిచి మిస్పాకు గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి బహు విస్తారము ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాలపు పండ్లను సమకూర్చుకొనిరి.

12. All the Jews (I say) returned out of all places where they (were) fled unto: and came in to the land of Judah, to Godoliah unto Mazphah, and gathered wine and other fruits, and that very much.

13. మరియు కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును, అచ్చటచ్చటనున్న సేనల యధిపతులందరును మిస్పా లోనున్న గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి

13. Moreover Johanan the son of Careah and all the captains of the Host, that were scattered on every side in the land, came to Godoliah to Mazphah, and said unto him:

14. నిన్ను చంపుటకు అమ్మోనీయుల రాజైన బయలీను నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును పంపెనని నీకు తెలియదా అని చెప్పిరి. అయితే అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా వారి మాట నమ్మలేదు.

14. knowest thou not that Baalis king of the Ammonites hath sent Ismael the son of Nathaniah, to slay thee? But Godoliah the son of Ahicam believed them not.

15. కారేహ కుమారుడగు యోహానాను మిస్పాలో గెదల్యాతో రహస్యముగా ఇట్లనెను నీ యొద్దకు కూడివచ్చిన యూదులందరు చెదరిపోవునట్లును, యూదా జనశేషము నశించు నట్లును నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు నిన్ను చంపనేల?దయచేసి నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్ము, ఎవనికి తెలియకుండ నేను వానిని చంపెదను.

15. Then said Johanan the son of Careah unto Godoliah in Mazphah these words secretly: Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ismael the son of Nathaniah, so that no body shall know it. Wherefore will he kill thee, that all the Jews which resort unto thee, might be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?

16. అందుకు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానుతో ఇష్మాయేలునుగూర్చి నీవు అబద్ధమాడుచున్నావు, నీవాకార్యము చేయకూడదనెను.

16. Then said Godoliah the son of Ahicam to Johanan the son of Careah: Thou shalt not do it, for they are but lies, that men say of Ismael.
